His soul-Chapter 121: The Reason
After her father and stepmother left, Gina slowly closed her eyes, seeing her father’s sincerity towards Vanessa made Gina feel sad and hurt at the same time.
"I’m grateful that I’m the only one who saw all this," Gina said softly, her chest tight at the memory of her mother who had to die alone after her love was neglected for years by the husband she loved.
Gina slowly got out of bed and walked towards the door, she wanted to meet her grandfather who is currently being cared for by two special nurses who were recommended by Patrick Davidson, his godfather.
The two nurses who had just washed Yohanes Sanders’ body smiled at Gina who was already standing at the door.
"Can I come in?"
"Of course you can, Miss. Please."
Gina smiled. "How is Grandpa doing today?"
"Mr Sanders’s condition has progressed rapidly, Miss."
"Thank God, I hope Grandpa wakes up soon," Gina said quietly.
Although Gina’s voice sounded faint, the two nurses could hear what she was saying, because they didn’t want to disturb the two nurses leaving the room leaving the patient they were caring for with their granddaughter. The two nurses had been told by Patrick who were allowed to be alone with the patients they cared for and Gina was one of the people allowed to be left alone with Yohanes Sanders. Looks like Patrick is starting to get suspicious of Vanessa and the kids at this point but that idiot Julian hasn’t even opened his eyes yet, annoying!!
Gina sat in a chair beside Yohanes Sanders’ bed, that man was getting thinner now and this made Gina feel even more sorry for him. All the things that she had said before suddenly disappeared, Gina really inherited Sandra’s kindness.
Gina timidly touched the hand of the grandfather who was attached to an IV needle. "You know grandpa, when I was little I was always ridiculed as an illegitimate child by my friends at school. That’s why you don’t have any friends, none of my friends at school want to play with a girl born without a father. That’s what they always do. tell me every day, but I always kept this secret until I grew up. I didn’t tell my mother because I didn’t want to make her sad and hurt even more if I knew that many small children accused her of nothing, but I was grateful for that situation. You know what the reason I’m grateful, grandpa? I’m grateful because with that situation I have had many opportunities to do many positive things, when my friends took ballet lessons, music lessons, singing lessons I decided to learn karate. Yes, since I was in elementary school I already decided to learn self-defense. One thing I thought at that time was that I had to be stronger than my friends who liked to taunt me and my right because right now when all the troubles come to me relentlessly I’m still this strong, the daughter-in-law you chose to replace my mother turned out to be a venomous snake. Even though I got injured today but I’m glad to know the real face of your beloved daughter-in-law, Grandpa. And you know, the reason I’m staying in this house right now is because I want to find out who the person that hurt Grandma was in the car. My wish right now is to see you wake up so you can see for yourself the real face of your very obedient son-in-law, even though you’re sleeping I hope you can still hear my voice." Gina wiped her tears that fell unconsciously. "That’s all I want to say. , I hope you will grant my request to wake up soon. Don’t be sick like this, let me hate you again like when I first came to this house."
Gina’s voice was getting weaker as she spoke, she was trying to hold back the tightness that was currently pressing her chest. Talking like this to the unconscious grandfather made Gina sad , because she didn’t want to cry in the room, Gina then chose to leave. The two nurses who had been waiting in front of the door went back into Yohanes’s room to resume their work when they saw Gina come out.
The big house really feels very quiet in the afternoon like this especially since Barbara’s death, there’s been no more laughter from that friendly lady in the backyard while joking with the maids. Gina really feels lonely right now, with her head bowed down Gina walks towards her room.
"Looks like I have to do something else, otherwise I can die of boredom in this house," Gina said to herself when she got back to her room, her eyes turned back to her laptop which was on her bed. The only gadget that is a tool to find out what is going on today out there includes information about Massimo.
"Shhh why am I thinking about that bad guy again," Gina mumbled annoyed when she suddenly thought of Massimo.
"That’s a sign that the man has a special place in your heart, Miss," Teresa said, who had just entered Gina’s room with a tray of lunch for Gina.
Gina immediately turned to Teresa who was walking towards her, the middle-aged woman was even smiling broadly at this time after uttering words that made Gina awkward. Didn’t Teresa know how much impact her words had on Gina?
"Whose heart? My heart? Oh of course not," Gina stammered, her face red as she spoke.
Teresa chuckled. "I know exactly how you are feeling right now, in a romantic relationship it is very natural for a little fight, Miss."
"I’m not in any kind of romantic relationship, Teresa!!!" Gina said loudly.
"Yes... yes... well then you eat first, then drink the medicine," said Teresa quietly holding back a laugh.
Gina who had folded her arms across her chest looked at Teresa in annoyance. "I do not want to eat."
"You don’t want to eat?"
"Yeah, I’m still full."
Teresa placed the tray she was carrying on the nightstand carefully. "It’s already lunch time, even though you’re not hungry you should eat. Especially now that you have to take medicine too, Miss. If you are sick and can’t go anywhere, then how do you treat the anxiety in your heart, Miss?"
"Teresa!!" Gina screamed loudly.
Instead of being angry, Teresa just burst out laughing. That woman really knows how to seduce Gina.
Because she didn’t want to continue being teased by Teresa, Gina finally decided to eat, luckily the lunch menu this time was one of her favorite foods, so Gina’s annoyance was slightly relieved because she could eat her favorite food again after months after her mother’s death.
Seeing Gina so hungrily made Teresa smile. "You seem to like pasta very much, Miss."
With her mouth full of food Gina shook her head. "Not really, just a few types of pasta that I like."
"Including the pasta you’re eating right now?"
Gina nodded her head excitedly with a big smile and that made Teresa happy.
"You are similar to the old lady, she also has an expression like you when she likes food," Teresa said to herself. "I’m sure the Old Lady would be very happy to be here."
In no time at all, Teresa’s plate of spaghetti carbonara was gone, Gina really didn’t waste a single bit of that delicious meal.
"So good, food like this should go into a fancy restaurant, Teresa." Praise Gina sincerely when she finished drinking the water that Teresa also provided earlier.
Teresa chuckled. "If I work in a restaurant then you won’t be able to enjoy my food, Miss."
"Oh yes, I forgot," said Gina spontaneously with exasperation.
"Yes, now you take the medicine so that your wound will dry quickly," said Teresa as she reached for the row of medicine on the nightstand that Gina had to drink.
After sorting through several medicines, finally there were now five pills on the small plate that Gina had to drink, Gina, who hated medicine so much, looked at the medicines with emotion.
"Come on Miss." Teresa reminded.
"Yes I know."
Holding back the annoyance, Gina grabbed the small plate and started to drink the medicine that Teresa had provided earlier, because she closed her eyes while taking the medicine, Gina didn’t realize that a maid was taking her picture from the door. A special servant who became Martin’s spy to keep an eye on Gina, although until this moment Massimo didn’t know Gina’s condition, Martin still asked his subordinates to monitor and continue to report Gina’s condition to him.
"Good girl, you managed to finish everything quickly. If you follow all the doctor’s instructions, I’m sure you will get well soon and after that you can meet again with the bad man you miss, Miss," said Teresa softly teasing Gina.
"No, I don’t want to meet that bad guy again. I’ve decided to hate him, Teresa," Gina said quickly, Gina’s hands immediately gripped the blanket under her. There was a sudden feeling of tightness when Gina spoke to Teresa like that.
