His Naughty Lessons-Chapter 300: Once Upon a Wish
Chapter 300: Once Upon a Wish
** Eli **
The ending to this night was perfect, a blissful turnout that Eli did not dare imagine after the nerve-wracking episode just an hour ago. When the final moment struck, making them both moan hard into each other’s mouth, he still didn’t want it to be over.
Tightening his grip around their interlaced fingers, he heaved in shallow breaths with their chests still pressed together, feeling her heartbeat thrashing fast against her ribcage not unlike his own. The blinding rush of pleasure made him lightheaded and short on air, but he didn’t end their kiss, nor the intimate connection that bound the two of them together into one.
Because feeling her like this — being with her like this — made him feel complete, body and soul.
"Um ... Oh my, that’s got to be ... one the best we’ve had ... somewhere up there with the first night in Hawaii." Harper’s voice was airy, threaded through with a hint of tiny tremors as she gasped against his lips.
Oh how he loved the sound of that timber. He replayed it over and over again in his head ... until the meaning of those words finally and slowly sank in.
This little demonic angel ... had been making a secret ranking of the quality of their bedtime activities?
The thought made Eli want to laugh, and at the same time, incredibly proud and honored. Proud for how far the shy little dove had come during the short time they had been together, and honored to be the one to create that ranking with her.
"That’s a high bar right there." His own words were a deep husk, though he liked how it mixed in perfectly with the staccato of her puffy breaths. "You are making me worried that I won’t be able to get a chance to top this again, love. Wouldn’t it be a bit difficult to find another occasion as special as the ones you’ve just listed?"
"N-Not that difficult ..." Still trying to find her voice, Harper finally broke away from his lips, obviously reluctant from the way she instantly sighed. "Well, there’s still the wedding night. And the night when we’ll make our first baby. And then ..."
She trailed off at the look on his face.
"What? Aren’t those the things that should be on our agenda next, now that I have this?" She lifted their interlaced hands, flashing her ring in front of his eyes with a proud grin. "I already have a few ideas ready for the wedding!"
Eli blinked. Then blinked again.
"... And here I was worried that you weren’t going to say yes." He laughed softly, giving her his reply with a nibble on her bottom lip. Though the playful gesture couldn’t hide the thrill that was all too obvious from the thrashing of his heart — never would he ever imagine that she had been thinking about the wedding ... their wedding, before he even had the courage to pop the question.
Harper smiled, capturing his lips before he got a chance to pull away, and the nibble turned into a long, lingering kiss ... until the thrashing of his heart went all the way down to his lower body, surprising her out of that entrancing makeout session.
It was her turn to blink this time, and his turn to smile.
"Tell me about those ideas then." Eli laid down for the moment, supporting his own weight with his elbow as he lightly pressed into her and rested his head against her shoulder. He liked cuddling with her like this in bed, being as close as two people could possibly be while doing nothing but listening to their heartbeats throbbing in rhythm with each other, and he didn’t want to rush over it. "I want to hear everything about your dream wedding ... Did you already pick out your favorite flowers? Dresses? Rose arches?"
"Oh ... Well, not quite those yet." Harper chuckled a bit sheepishly, as if he had just reminded her of pieces of the wedding that she forgot existed. "The part I did think a lot about ... was where I wanted the venue to be, and I think I’d like it to be on the west coast where you lived before."
Eli’s heart hit an abrupt stop. ƒreewebɳovel.com
"But of course, that’s only if you want to," she added hastily. "I just thought that ... that it’d be cool to make some once-in-a-lifetime memories at a place that means something to you, wouldn’t it? Besides, the west coast is such a paradise destination for weddings anyway, with those gorgeous vineyards and mountains and valleys. Closer to Hawaii too, which is where I’d love to consider for a honeymoon."
When Eli felt his heartbeat resume a marginally regular rhythm again, it was thudding loudly in his ears once more, this time even faster and harder than before.
He remembered it, of course. The real reason why she wanted to choose his hometown as their wedding destination. That night when she was drunk, she had told him that she wanted to visit the west coast with him, to make new memories together at the place where he grew up and rewrite the old ones that haunted him. She probably couldn’t remember the fact that she had once admitted those thoughts to him under the influence of alcohol ... but nonetheless, she never stopped thinking about how to do it. Even if it meant choosing that place as the most important location that would matter to her for a lifetime.
Because she cared. Because she loved him.
"... Eli?" Harper brushed her fingertips over his knuckles when he stayed silent for a little too long. "Um, if you don’t like the idea—"
"No, I love it." He stopped her with a kiss, one that he wished he didn’t have to let go for the rest of his life. "I think that’s perfect. Absolutely perfect."
He felt her lips curve into a smile against his, and as her precious thoughts sent a wave of warmth coursing through his body, he resumed that slow and measured rhythm as he made love to her again, and again, and again.
He must have dreamed this night to life, he thought.
He had once made a wish upon the stars, and she came true.
