His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 39: The Ascetic and Refined Untouchable Beau
After Kiana Sutton moved to the planning department, unless she made an effort, she barely ever ran into Ethan Sinclair.
Besides, this was the regular employee elevator, not the president’s exclusive one.
So when she saw Ethan Sinclair, Kiana suddenly stopped in her tracks, Amy Manning and Evan Shepherd also halted behind her, and only then did they see Ethan Sinclair.
"President Sinclair..."
The two greeted the figure in the elevator respectfully, and Kiana quickly pulled herself together and nodded at Ethan.
The three of them just stood there, mostly because Ethan’s presence was too overwhelming, so intimidating that no one dared to share the elevator with him.
"Not coming in yet?"
With Ethan’s command, Evan was first to step into the elevator, lowering his head and standing behind Ethan.
Amy saw this and nudged Kiana, and the two followed in as well.
Amy moved faster than Kiana; she darted behind Ethan and stood there, sneaking peeks at him with an infatuated expression.
Kiana was just about to go over, but Ethan’s tall figure subtly blocked her way.
Kiana looked up at Ethan; seeing his blank face fixed on her, she didn’t dare move any further and obediently stood in front of him, pretending to be invisible.
It was only going to be a few dozen seconds, just grit her teeth and get through it.
With one glance down, Ethan Sinclair could see Kiana’s cool, pale, beautiful nape, and her petite, alluring earlobes.
His icy eyes flickered darkly; Ethan felt a slight itch in his palm.
Suddenly...
The elevator jolted, making a heavy "thud-thud-thud" noise.
"Ah..."
Amy was seriously startled and let out a piercing scream, locking her grip around Evan’s arm.
Kiana was also caught off guard.
Then the elevator abruptly stopped, its lights flickering and then shutting off completely.
"Ah... what’s going on? Did the elevator break down?"
Evans was being squeezed painfully by Amy, but forced himself to speak in a low voice, "President Sinclair is here, don’t be afraid."
On hearing that, Amy actually calmed down a bit.
The elevator had a phone for emergencies. As soon as Ethan Sinclair spoke, maintenance rushed over as fast as they could, wishing they had wings.
The darkness made it hard for Kiana to breathe; she was just trying to get to the corner when a warm hand pressed onto her nape. Before she could react, an imposing body pulled her close.
Was it Ethan Sinclair?
What the hell is he trying to do!
Kiana’s heart was racing from Ethan’s sudden embrace, and then, in the next moment, her earlobe was taken into Ethan’s mouth.
Her whole body shuddered violently, a wave of tingling numbness making her knees buckle.
Crazy!
This guy is seriously insane!
First it was the haunted house, now it’s the elevator!
There are other people here too! Is he not worried...
"Where’s the bell?"
Ethan’s voice was low and husky. As soon as he finished asking, he nipped lightly at Kiana’s neck, seemingly not caring about her answer, just asking for the sake of it.
Kiana’s fear shot through the roof; this elevator wasn’t tiny, but not exactly huge either. Didn’t he want to keep their relationship a secret? Why was he doing this?
Is it because she wasn’t wearing the bell? Was this his way of punishing her? 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Rustling footsteps were heard outside — the repair crew must’ve arrived.
Panic rising, Kiana pushed Ethan away, but couldn’t get him off; instead, it pissed him off.
Ethan grabbed her chin, tilted her head to the side, and kissed her.
"President Sinclair, are you all right? Please hang in there, we’re almost ready to get you out."
Amy said excitedly, "That’s great, someone’s coming to rescue us! Kiana... Kiana, where are you? Are you okay?"
Amy finally remembered Kiana and tried to find her. Kiana’s face changed dramatically, and, without thinking, she pinched a chunk of soft flesh at Ethan’s waist, hard.
The next second, Ethan forced her lips apart and pressed his tongue inside.
The moment the elevator doors opened, Ethan released Kiana.
Kiana darted out first; Amy quickly nodded at Ethan and chased after her.
"Kiana, what happened? Are you scared? Hey, your face and ears are so red!"
Kiana truly wished she could shut Amy’s mouth. Even if she said nothing, no one would mistake her for a mute!
Seeing everyone staring at her, Kiana wished she could dig a hole and bury herself.
"Must’ve been too hot inside the elevator. I’m sweating all over."
Evan helped her out, and Kiana quickly nodded gratefully.
On the way out of the building, Kiana couldn’t help but look back once.
Ethan was talking to the head of security and the repairmen, his face as cold and aloof as ever, as if he hadn’t just done something beastly in the elevator minutes ago.
That man really had two faces!
The trio headed to a Thai restaurant, and Amy was still swooning over dinner.
"Oh my god, President Sinclair is just so handsome and gives me such a sense of security. If I was with him, I wouldn’t be scared even if the world ended."
Kiana gave Amy a complicated look, lost for words.
"Hey, honestly, someone like President Sinclair — cold, self-controlled, that elegant ’flower on the mountain’ type — what kind of woman could ever bring him down to earth? I just can’t imagine what he’d be like if he actually fell for someone."
Kiana: "..."
Controlled? Elegant?
For the first three years of marriage, she thought so too.
Now she realized Ethan Sinclair really didn’t hold back, and especially loved trying all kinds of positions in all kinds of places.
Just the thought made Kiana’s face heat up.
Halfway through eating, when Amy went to the bathroom, Evan glanced at Kiana and casually asked, "Kiana, you and President Sinclair’s sister... the one we met at the amusement park, Quinn Sinclair, are you two close?"
Kiana didn’t know why Evan suddenly brought up Quinn, but worried he’d suspect something about her and Ethan, so she quickly signed: "Not really close, I only saw her a few times when I was President Sinclair’s secretary."
Since the three of them got close, Amy and Evan had started to learn sign language to communicate better with Kiana.
Evan picked up things fast, and could already understand what Kiana was signing.
Kiana signed again, "Why do you ask?"
"Oh, nothing, just thought she was really nice. If we became friends, I bet it’d be fun."
Kiana nodded. That was true.
After work, just as Kiana rode out on her scooter, she saw Evan trying to flag down a cab anxiously by the road.
Kiana pulled up next to him, one hand on the handlebars and one ready to sign, "What happened?"
"My grandma fell, the neighbors took her to the hospital, I don’t know how she’s doing. I can’t get a cab."
Seeing Evan sweating buckets, Kiana signed, "It’s rush hour, so it’s extra hard to get a ride. Which hospital? Want me to take you?"
Ever since Kiana moved to planning, Evan had helped her out a lot.
Now he was in trouble, and as his friend, she couldn’t just ignore it.
Evan glanced at Kiana’s electric bike, "Is this thing... okay?"
Kiana nodded...
The two of them rode off, and Stella Lyncg, snapping photos with her phone, gave a chilly laugh. "Kiana Sutton, oh Kiana Sutton, I can’t wait to see how you’ll talk your way out of this one."
