His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 160: Bumping Into Ethan Sinclair’s Occiput
Ethan Sinclair realized that lately, he had truly been spoiling Kiana Sutton.
As a result, this woman had begun to repeatedly test his patience.
Kiana Sutton felt a little aggrieved after being yelled at by Ethan Sinclair, her small hands dropping in disappointment.
She couldn’t express her grievances and sadness like a normal girl, as Ethan was turned away from her, and she couldn’t use gestures to communicate with him.
All she could do was bump her little forehead against Ethan’s back again and again, as if to declare that if Ethan didn’t carry her away, she’d break her own head.
Ethan: "..."
Did this silly woman not realize that the force of an impact was mutual?
If she bumped him, wouldn’t she feel pain too?
To prevent both of them from wandering the streets with broken heads, Ethan sternly said, "If you bump again, I’ll throw you off."
Kiana Sutton indeed didn’t dare to bump him anymore; instead, she tightened her grip around his neck with an air of defiance, as if no one could separate them.
Then, the couple from earlier came running past again.
The boy carried the girl while she cheered him on from behind.
"Darling, you’re amazing, keep going, go go go..."
The boy, encouraged by her cheers, hurried his pace.
Kiana Sutton remained silent for a long time, prompting Ethan Sinclair to glance back and see her watching the couple.
Even though he couldn’t see her facial expression, Ethan knew her eyes were undoubtedly full of envy.
Isn’t it just carrying her while running?
It’s not as if it’s a big deal.
"Kiana, hold tight; if you fall later, I’m not responsible."
Before Kiana could react, Ethan started to run.
Kiana’s heart shrank in fright, but she clung tightly to Ethan’s neck, bursting into a joyful laughter.
Nighttime.
On a street surrounded by colorful neon lights, cars sped by, and pedestrians hurried along.
A man in a suit dashed ahead with a cute and pretty girl on his back.
One of the girl’s hands clung to the man’s neck, while the other was raised high, as if cheering him on.
The girl’s smile radiated happiness, while the man didn’t bear as bright a smile but was clearly delighted.
Connor Grant noticed the romantic and sweet scene of his Fifth Master and Young Madam as he drove by.
Being a competent assistant, he wouldn’t spoil the mood by playing third wheel.
Instead, he whipped out his phone to capture the moment.
Connor subtly drove alongside them, almost shedding tears of joy as the head cheerleader of the CP fans, witnessing their happiness.
Ethan Sinclair ran on for quite a while, initially feeling Kiana Sutton’s joy, but soon enough, she fell silent.
He looked back and saw Kiana had actually fallen asleep on his back.
Ethan: "..."
That damn woman! She had him running around for half the night, only to fall asleep herself after amusing herself!
Connor Grant saw this and promptly pulled over, hopping out to open the car door.
"Fifth Master..."
Ethan Sinclair shot Connor Grant a cold glance, "Why did you just get here?"
"Ah..."
Connor couldn’t possibly admit he’d been reveling in the scene, "There was a bit of a traffic jam up ahead."
"What did you see?"
Knowing that Ethan Sinclair cared about face, especially not wanting acquaintances to see him running with the Young Madam, Connor quickly said, "I didn’t see anything, hehe... Fifth Master, the Young Madam has fallen asleep; maybe she should get into the car first."
Inside the car.
Kiana Sutton unknowingly had a sweet dream, her lips curling into a sugary smile the entire time.
She held onto Ethan’s arm tightly and wouldn’t let go, despite his attempts to draw away.
With hindsight, Ethan Sinclair realized his actions this evening were too out of character; he shouldn’t have been soft-hearted toward Kiana Sutton, shouldn’t have compromised again and again.
He wanted to threaten Kiana Sutton to let him go, but seeing her tranquil and adorable face, he couldn’t bear to wake her.
He quietly watched Kiana Sutton, noticing for the first time how her eyelashes were long and curled, her nose was delicate and exquisite, and her skin was as flawless and bright as white jade.
Finally, his gaze landed on her plump, rosy lips.
Although she was mute, her mouth was unbelievably sweet; once tasted, it was irresistible.
"Back then, when our student council president confessed to Kiana Sutton and got rejected, not only did he not hold a grudge, but he also worked with the school to establish a sign language club. I’m not exaggerating; ninety-nine point ninety-nine percent of the club were boys."
"Who wouldn’t want someone sweet like Kiana, who isn’t dramatic or pretentious? It’s a pity I never even had a chance. Wonder which lucky dog will have the fortune to marry her someday."
Terence Stone’s words echoed in Ethan’s ears; he indeed hadn’t anticipated how popular Kiana Sutton was within the school.
If Kiana hadn’t married him and instead got together with someone else...
Just the thought of it made Ethan feel painfully furious and agitated, unable to accept it.
He tiredly supported his forehead, damn, why was it like this?
...
Kiana Sutton slept deeply and comfortably, having a sweet dream.
The details of the dream left her memory upon waking, but she knew it must have been lovely.
She awoke feeling refreshed and energetic.
Kiana Sutton trotted downstairs, spotting Ethan Sinclair at the dining table with a somber and poor complexion.
Her footsteps paused as memories of the previous night flooded back into her mind.
She had let Ethan carry her and run, even bumped her head against him!
It’s over!
The way Ethan looked like he was ready to bite someone, he was surely going to settle scores with her later.
This thought prevented Kiana from moving forward.
Ethan Sinclair, who hadn’t slept well the entire night and seeing Kiana revert to her timid and cowardly self, frowned tightly.
This woman, when drunk compared to sober, was like day and night!
"What are you standing there for? Get over here and have breakfast."
Kiana Sutton froze, was he not going to settle scores with her?
Throughout breakfast, Kiana cautiously kept an eye on Ethan Sinclair, fearing he might suddenly lash out.
To her surprise, while Ethan appeared in poor spirits, he wasn’t angry.
And when she was about to take the subway, she found Ethan’s car parked at the door.
Connor Grant, sensing the mood, cheerfully opened the back door, "Young Madam, please get in."
Kiana looked at Ethan in the back seat; he held a document, not sparing her a glance.
Thinking it over, without Ethan Sinclair’s approval, Connor Grant wouldn’t have let her into the car.
The issue was after everything she did last night, where would she dare ride with Ethan Sinclair? If she somehow angered him, today would undoubtedly be disastrous.
With this in mind, Kiana quickly gestured, "There’s no need, I’ll take the subway, it’s more convenient."
Just as Kiana finished signing, a low, icy voice came from the back seat, "Get in."
Kiana: "..."
