Chapter 483: Chapter 483

"How was your experience?" Scarlett asked with a bright smile, leaning back against the seat, her own skin glowing softly, her expression relaxed and satisfied.

"It was really good," Bella replied with a shy, happy smile, her voice light, almost dreamy. She still felt warm and calm, like the softness from the spa had settled deep inside her.

After that, they headed back home together. Once Bella reached her room, she closed the door gently behind her and stood there for a second, her heart beating a little faster. She opened the wardrobe and carefully tucked the lingerie she had bought behind her neatly folded clothes, hiding it as if it were a small secret meant only for her. When she was done, she took a deep breath, smoothed her hair, and went downstairs.

In the living area, Aunt Clara was already waiting, holding a glass filled with chilled orange juice, tiny drops of moisture clinging to the sides. "Here you go, dear," she said warmly.

"Thank you," Bella replied softly, taking the glass with both hands the way she always did. The orange juice was cold and freshly squeezed, the kind Aunt Clara made herself every afternoon. She took a slow sip, the cool sweetness spreading through her mouth and easing the leftover tension in her shoulders.

Aunt Clara leaned against the counter, arms folded loosely, watching her with a knowing smile. "You look glowing today, dear," she said warmly. "Your eyes look brighter too."

Bella blinked, then laughed a little, embarrassed. She wiped her lips with the back of her hand and nodded. "Do I?" she asked, tilting her head. "I didn’t really notice."

"Oh, I notice," Aunt Clara replied, nodding firmly. "I’ve known you long enough to know when you’re stressed and when you’re relaxed. Today, you look... lighter." She paused, then added gently, "Did you do something nice for yourself?"

Bella’s cheeks warmed. She took another sip of juice before answering. "I went to the spa," she said, her voice soft but happy. "Scarlett dragged me there. At first I was shy, but... it felt really good."

Aunt Clara’s smile widened. "Ah, that explains it," she said with a pleased hum. "Your skin looks fresh, and you’re standing straighter too. What did you get done?"

Bella thought for a moment, then answered honestly, her words tumbling out a little. "A facial, a gentle massage, and a hair treatment. They even did my hands. I almost fell asleep," she admitted, laughing quietly. "I didn’t realize how tense I was until everything slowed down."

"That’s good," Aunt Clara said softly. "You’ve been through so much, Bella. Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It’s necessary."

Bella lowered her gaze to the glass in her hands, her smile turning shy and thoughtful. "I know," she said. "I’m still learning that."

Aunt Clara reached out and patted her arm affectionately. "You’re doing just fine, dear," she said.

Bella nodded, smiling.

Late at night, Leo finally returned home. The house was quiet and still, and the lights were dim except for the soft glow seeping out from their bedroom. He stepped inside quietly, loosening his tie as his eyes immediately went to the bed.

Bella was already asleep.

She lay curled on her side, the blanket pulled up to her shoulders, her hair spread messily across the pillow. Her breathing was slow and even, peaceful in a way that made his chest soften instantly. The tension he had been carrying all day seemed to drain from him the moment he saw her like this.

He paused for a second, just watching her, a small smile touching his lips. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

So peaceful, he thought.

Leo moved closer, careful not to wake her, and sat on the edge of the bed. He brushed a stray strand of hair away from her face, his fingers gentle, almost reverent. Leaning down, he pressed a light kiss to her forehead, lingering there for a brief moment as if grounding himself.

"My bunny," he murmured softly, though she didn’t stir.

He changed quietly, slipped under the blanket beside her, and the moment he lay down, Bella shifted instinctively. Still half-asleep, she rolled closer, her body seeking his warmth without even opening her eyes. Her hand found his shirt, lightly clutching it, and she settled against his chest as if she had been waiting for him all along.

Leo let out a slow breath and wrapped an arm around her, holding her close. The world finally felt still. With her tucked safely against him, he closed his eyes too, sleep coming easily as the night embraced them both.

The next night came quickly, and Bella felt every second of it ticking inside her chest.

Leo was still in his study, and she knew his habits well enough to guess she had around thirty, maybe thirty-five minutes before he would return to the room. That thought alone made her nerves flutter. She took a long, warm bath, letting the steam calm her racing thoughts, washing her hair slowly and carefully, as if every small action mattered tonight.

When she stepped out, wrapped in a towel, she stood in front of the mirror for a moment, breathing in and out, steadying herself. Then she changed into the bunny set.

Her face immediately warmed.

It felt different from the one she had worn in the changing room. She had decided to save the other piece for later. This one felt right for tonight. She let her long hair fall loose down her back, dark and silky, framing her shoulders. As she adjusted the bunny headband, her fingers hesitated for a second before she smiled shyly at her reflection.

Then she turned slightly and noticed the fluffy tail at the back.

Cute. Ridiculously cute.

A small, embarrassed laugh slipped from her lips, but she couldn’t deny it. Her figure looked different like this, more confident, more grown. She liked how she looked. That realization alone made her stand a little straighter.

She applied a light layer of lip balm, watching as her lips turned glossy and soft. She pressed them together once, then nodded to herself, feeling proud. Hehe.

Okay, Bella. You can do this.

She dimmed the lights, letting the room fall into a gentle glow, and slipped under the blanket, pulling it up to her chest. Her heart was beating fast now, anticipation and nerves tangled together as she lay there, listening to every faint sound from the hallway.
