His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker.-Chapter 452 Happy birthday Bella
And only then... did she notice the rest.
The entire family was gathered.
Lina and Alessandro standing near the dining table. Nonna pressing her hands together with teary eyes. Jace and Dominique on the sofa, trying not to look emotional. Even Leo’s stern bodyguards were pretending not to stare with concern.
Zion and Casper stood near the wall with their arms crossed, their expressions softening the moment they saw her looking around.
They had all come.
For her.
Bella’s breath trembled as she looked around the room, her vision blurring for a moment. So many faces. So many warm eyes. So many people who had been waiting quietly, worried quietly, hoping quietly.
Waiting for her to wake up.
Waiting for her to come back.
She swallowed, her heart swelling so gently it almost hurt. A shy smile curved on her lips, small and soft, fragile but filled with warmth that spread through the room like sunlight.
"Hi..." she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion she couldn’t hide.
Scarlett squeezed her harder.
Jay sniffed dramatically.
Jace turned away, wiping his eyes.
Casper cleared his throat too loudly.
And from the hallway, Leo leaned against the wall, one hand in his pocket, his eyes fixed only on her. The faintest smile pulled at his lips, slow and soft, as if seeing her smile again finally let him breathe.
Bella didn’t notice him yet.
Bella’s gaze floated from face to face, still dazed from all the hugs and the warmth flooding the room. But somewhere beneath all the surprise, her eyes were searching for... someone.
Her lashes fluttered.
"Where is Leo...?" she whispered softly, almost shyly.
Before anyone could answer—
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELLAAAA! BELLLLL!"
POP!
Bella jumped, her eyes widening like a startled bunny as colorful confetti exploded around her in dazzling sparkles. Dominique stood nearby proudly, waving a confetti cannon like it was a legendary artifact he had crafted himself.
And Jason — oh, Jason — had somehow grabbed a small handbell from somewhere and was shaking it aggressively as he started singing at the top of his lungs:
"Happy birthday, bella bellaaa! Happy birthday BELLLAAA!"
Scarlett facepalmed. Jay started laughing so hard he bent forward. Nonna clapped along like this was the most beautiful performance she had ever witnessed. Even Zion muttered, "He’s insane," but smiled anyway.
Bella covered her mouth in shock, her eyes wide and shimmering. "You... you all did this for me?" She didn’t even remember her birthday.
Jason nodded so hard he nearly fell. "OF COURSE!"
Scarlett hugged her from the side. "We wouldn’t miss your birthday even if the world ended."
Jason nodded again, so hard he nearly fell twice. "OF COURSE!"
Bella felt her eyes sting, her throat tightening with emotion.
But even as she smiled, her gaze wandered gently around the room... looking for him.
Jay caught it immediately.
"Ayyye, someone’s searching for their husband."
Bella gasped and looked away. "I wasn’t looking... I mean I was... but not like that..."
And Leo stepped through the hallway entrance. He wore a casual black shirt and dark pants, his sleeves rolled up, hair slightly messy.
And he was smiling.
A real, soft, warm smile that made everyone freeze.
Even Lina blinked in shock. Alessandro muttered, "Did the sun rise from the west?"
Dominique whispered loudly, "Take a picture, quick, this is a once-in-a-lifetime event."
And Nonna looked so happy, her eyes shining as she watched her cold, distant grandson standing there with a warmth she hadn’t seen in years. Her hands pressed together near her chest, her lips trembling with joy. She leaned closer to Lina and whispered softly in Italian, "Finalmente il mio ragazzo sorride..."1 as if afraid the moment might disappear if she spoke too loudly.
But Bella didn’t hear anyone.
Her breath caught softly, her hands twisting the sleeve of her dress as her heartbeat fluttered too fast for her small body to handle.
And when he finally reached her, he stopped just close enough that only she could hear the quiet warmth in his voice.
"Good morning, bunny," he said gently, that rare smile softening even more. "You’re up."
Bella’s cheeks flushed pink, her heart melting completely.
Jason’s eyes widened the moment the word slipped out of Leo’s mouth, and a mischievous grin spread over his face faster than lightning.
"Bunny?" Jason echoed. "Wow... interesting..."
Dominique choked on his own spit, Scarlett’s eyes sparkled with gossip energy, and Jay looked like he was already preparing tea and snacks to watch drama. Bro is so bold, he didn’t even hesitate to call Bella ’bunny’ in front of others.
But Leo didn’t find it amusing.
Not even a little.
His gaze snapped to Jason so sharply that Jason’s entire soul shivered. The smile fell off his face like it had been slapped away by the wind.
Leo took one slow step forward, his voice low and dangerously calm.
"I can only call her that."
Jason froze.
Then blinked.
Then quietly slid behind Dominique’s back like a frightened little squirrel hiding behind a tree.
Dominique raised both hands in surrender. "Bro, don’t use me as a shield... he’ll kill both of us."
Jason whispered urgently, "Shut up, at least you’re tall."
Leo didn’t have to say anything else. His cold stare alone was enough to make Jason nod like a chastised student, promising silently he would never tease that nickname again.
Bella, meanwhile, pressed her hands to her burning cheeks, trying not to smile.
Because even in front of everyone... even when he pretended to be calm...
Leo was acting like a possessive husband who didn’t want anyone else touching the nickname he gave her. And it warmed her all the way down to her toes.
"Nardo has planned a road trip for everyone," Nonna announced with a proud little smile, her voice carrying across the living room like a warm breeze. "And camping too... all for Bella’s birthday. You will celebrate your twenties there, sì?"
Bella’s eyes instantly widened, so slowly it looked like her whole world had stopped for a heartbeat. She glanced around the room, and suddenly everything connected. Everyone was wearing casual wear.
There were bags near the sofa. Extra jackets on the armchairs. A folded tent leaning against the wall.
Everyone was ready.
For her.
The realization rushed into her chest like something warm and overwhelming, and she felt a soft sting in her eyes before she could stop it. She looked down for a moment, her fingers curling.
"This is amazing," she whispered, her voice trembling in that fragile, honest way that made everyone fall silent. "I... I never celebrated my birthday before."
Her throat tightened. Her eyes glistened.
Leo watched her reaction with a kind of tenderness that softened every sharp line on his face. He wasn’t smiling with his lips...he was smiling with his eyes, with the way he breathed, though his heart ached hearing she never celebrated her birthday.
Bella looked up again, her eyes sparkling as if someone had lit tiny stars inside them.
"You... you all planned this?" she asked softly.
And the room answered with nods, cheers, smiles, and a thousand silent "of course" wrapped in love.
