Chapter 80- Stuck With Me

Tyler's POV

I quickly turned my head and caught Logan looking at me like he'd just swallowed a whole lemon.

Oh wow.

So it wasn't only me that didn't want to be stuck with him?

Great.

Perfect.

Just perfect.

I tried not to let it show, but deep down, something stung in my chest.

I mean... it's not like I wanted Logan to be my partner either — but seeing how fast he shouted like I was the worst option on earth?

That kinda hurt.

Mr. Collins — our physics teacher and unofficial gossip freak — slowly raised his head, adjusting his glasses like he was watching a live drama.

"Are you two okay?" His voice carried that sarcastic undertone, like he was already enjoying whatever was going on between us.

I quickly nodded, forcing my mouth shut before I said something stupid.

The last thing I wanted was for Mr. Collins to start asking unnecessary questions.

I wasn't exactly thrilled about being Logan's partner — but if this meant Logan would finally have no other choice but to continue the teasing he started... then I didn't mind being partners with him.

At least he would have no option but to talk to me again.

But Logan?

That guy had other plans.

Instead of just sitting his ass down and accepting fate like the rest of us, he slowly raised his hand.

I instantly knew what he was about to do.

Oh, hell no.

Don't do it, Logan.

Please, for the love of God, don't do it.

Mr. Collins crossed his arms. "Yes, Logan?"

Logan leaned back on his chair, looking like he was about to address the United Nations.

"Everything isn't okay, Mr. Collins."

I internally facepalmed myself.

Of course.

Of freaking course.

"What exactly is not okay?" Mr. Collins asked, pretending to be confused.

Like he didn't know Logan was about to make this entire situation worse.

Logan's eyes flicked toward me — cold and distant — before he lazily leaned forward on his desk.

"I'm not satisfied with my partner."

The words hit me straight in the chest like a slap.

Not satisfied?

What the hell did that even mean?

This was the same Logan who had been teasing me mercilessly just this morning — the same Logan who wouldn't stop smirking and whispering weird shit into my ears every chance he got.

Now all of a sudden, I wasn't good enough to be his partner?

What changed?

Mr. Collins raised a brow. "Not satisfied?"

"Exactly." Logan crossed his arms. "I want to change my partner."

I felt something twist in my stomach.

It was one thing for him to hate me silently — but saying it out loud in front of the whole class like I was some kind of disease?

That shit hurt more than I wanted to admit.

Mr. Collins looked at him like he had grown two heads.

"But why?"

Logan sighed dramatically, leaning back in his chair like he was too good to explain himself.

"You already said the reason, Mr. Collins."

"I'm not satisfied with him."

Ouch.

My heart squeezed a little.

I didn't even know why I was getting pissed off.

I should be happy, right?

He was finally off my neck.

No more teasing.

No more weird glances.

No more stupid butterflies anytime he smirked at me.

But instead of feeling relieved... I felt angry.

Why was he suddenly acting like I had germs or something?

What the hell did I do to him?

Mr. Collins cleared his throat.

"Logan, I'm not changing your partner just because you're not satisfied with him. Tyler is one of the most intelligent students in this class, and you both would make a great team."

I glanced at Mr. Collins, silently thanking him for at least trying to defend me — but deep down, I knew he was wasting his breath.

Logan had already made up his mind.

"I don't care if he's intelligent or not." Logan's voice was flat, but there was something sharp hidden underneath.

"There are other intelligent people in this class. I just don't want to be in the same team as him."

His words cut through me like a knife.

I could feel the whole class staring — some of them trying not to laugh, others pretending to mind their business.

Even Naomi was watching the whole thing like it was some romantic soap opera.

Bitch.

Mr. Collins sighed heavily, like he was already regretting his entire teaching career.

"Everyone seems comfortable with their partners, Logan. Who exactly do you want to switch with?"

Logan smirked, like he had been waiting for that question all along.

"I know one person who isn't satisfied with their partner either."

Oh God.

I already knew where this was heading before he even finished his sentence.

And just like I guessed...

Naomi's annoying ass shot her hand into the air like she was auditioning for Miss Universe.

"I can switch with you, sweetheart," she said sweetly, batting her lashes.

Jesus Christ.

Somebody please muzzle this girl.

I shot her a glare, silently praying that Mr. Collins would reject her dumbass suggestion.

Luckily, the universe was still on my side — because the second Naomi opened her mouth, Mr. Collins' face twisted like he had just tasted expired milk.

"No one is switching partners," he snapped, shutting her down before she could say anything else.

Thank God.

I almost fist-bumped the air.

Mr. Collins turned back to Logan.

"Your partner is Tyler, and that's final."

He adjusted his glasses, glaring at Logan like a tired father dealing with a stubborn child.

"You should be lucky I even paired you both together. Two intelligent students... you'll be done with this project in less than a week."

Logan clenched his jaw, but he didn't argue again.

I could see the frustration burning behind his eyes — but at least now, he was stuck with me.

Serves him right.

Mr. Collins grabbed his marker and started writing the project topic on the board.

'The Practical Application of Newton's Laws of Motion in Modern Technology.'

Boring as hell... but whatever.

I wasn't even paying attention to the topic anymore — all I cared about was the fact that Logan was officially my partner.

For two whole weeks.

Whether he liked it or not... he was going to be stuck with me.

When the class finally ended, Mr. Collins gave us the last instruction.

"Discuss with your partners where you'll be having your personal study sessions — whether at your house or theirs."

The second those words left his mouth, my heart skipped.

Wait...

Personal study sessions?

At my house or Logan's house?

Oh shit.

I barely had time to process that thought before Mr. Collins walked out of the class.

The second he disappeared, I heard footsteps marching straight toward me.

I looked up —

And there he was.

Logan.

His green eyes locked onto mine, blazing with irritation.

He stopped right in front of my desk, crossing his arms.

I swallowed hard, trying not to show how fast my heart was racing.
