Hero Hack: Reversing Heroes and Raising Harem-Chapter 264: Flawless Flex Combo
Chapter 264: Flawless Flex Combo
Ashblade and Whisperlash appeared in a new zone.
They stood at the center of the wide arena.
Tall stone walls and flame-cracked pillars surrounded them.
The heat from the floor was already rising.
Above them, a notice blinked across the screen:
[Group Clash Simulation – Begin in 10 Seconds]
[Fighting Alone Grants More Points]
Ashblade glanced at it.
Then, back at the flame-shaped portal across the field.
"They’re testing individual performance," he said.
Whisperlash placed one hand on her hip and spun her whip once.
"So it’s not group as in us versus them," she said.
"It’s us fighting a group."
She smirked behind her half-mask. novelbuddy-cσ๓
"This will be fun."
Ashblade nodded. "Go ahead."
Whisperlash pointed to herself. "Me first, okay?"
He stepped back. "Don’t take too long."
She grinned and walked forward, hips swaying, her steps light.
The ground around her flashed.
Red runes lit up in a ring. The portal ahead opened with a loud hiss.
Six virtual enemies spawned in sequence.
Flame soldiers with glowing arms, one cloaked seer, and a heavy-armed brute dragging a molten shield.
Whisperlash raised her hand.
"Come on then. Let’s dance."
The first to charge was the Ember Reaver, blades spinning.
She ran straight at it.
At the last second, she leapt into a flip and disappeared.
[Mirage Override]
Four copies of her darted in all directions while her real body appeared behind the Reaver mid-air.
Her whip lashed out.
[Pulse Snap: Scatter Trick]
One real energy pulse slammed into the back of its head.
The fakes went in random directions, forcing the nearby Pyro Fist Monk and Ashen Conduit to dodge.
The Reaver collapsed, disabled before it could even turn.
"Oops. Too slow," Whisperlash said.
The Monk lunged toward her with a blazing punch.
[Ignition Palm]
She ducked under it, her whip wrapping around his leg.
[Phantom Coil Waltz]
Only one thread was real. The others flickered like afterimages.
The Monk kicked out, hitting nothing.
The real thread yanked him into the air.
He slammed into a burning wall, groaning.
"Nice try," she said, walking under him.
Flames suddenly exploded in a circle.
The Ashen Conduit had dropped a ring of runes.
[Runeburst Field]
Whisperlash twirled her body sideways, letting her illusion pendant flare.
[Threadlock Mirage]
A dome of flickering images covered her instantly.
Runes went off, but the blasts passed through her fake positions.
Inside, she was already crouching.
She whispered, "Try harder."
Then dashed out of the dome. Her whip extended mid-run.
[Pulse Snap: Scatter Trick] again.
This time, she aimed the real one straight at the Conduit’s face.
It hit. The projection staggered.
Two more enemies joined in: an Infernal Seer and a Firebrand Sentinel.
The Seer created illusions.
[Mirror Blaze]
Three glowing figures moved in toward her.
Whisperlash stood still.
"I can play that game too."
She stepped forward.
Three afterimages of her appeared, confusing the illusions.
They collided in the middle of the field, canceling each other.
The Firebrand Sentinel raised its shield and slammed the ground.
[Smash Quake]
Stone cracked. The shockwave rippled toward her.
Whisperlash bent her knees and launched up, flipping through the air.
Her whip wrapped around a broken statue high above.
She landed on top of it, legs crossed.
"Too slow, too loud, too big," she said.
She jumped again.
Mid-air, her whip lashed out and coiled around the Sentinel’s arm.
She pulled.
The heavy brute stumbled forward.
Straight into the blast of her delayed illusion trap.
[Phantom Coil Waltz] triggered again.
The Sentinel dropped.
The timer above them blinked.
[Phase Complete – Whisperlash: 6 Eliminations | 0 Hits Taken | Score: Excellent]
Ashblade watched from the sidelines.
"Done showing off?"
Whisperlash landed beside him, brushing fake dust off her shoulder.
"That wasn’t showing off," she said. "That was warming up."
She winked behind the mask.
"Your turn, Mr. Quiet Swordsman."
Ashblade stepped forward.
"Try not to blink."
The next wave began.
---
Vora Dace stood with her arms crossed, visor glowing as she stared at the feeds showing Whisperlash and Ashblade clearing the stage.
She spoke without turning her head.
"Have you gotten the real data on those two?"
Her henchman tapped quickly on the console.
"Not yet."
Vora’s eye narrowed.
"They’ve already cleared two stages flawlessly."
The assistant frowned.
"We checked everything. They’re listed as newly appointed heroes."
"No previous records. No mission logs. No mentor link."
Vora turned slowly, her boots clicking against the steel floor.
"What about biometric scans?"
"Clean," another worker replied.
"DNA and facial scans don’t match anyone in the Dominion database. Not even B-Zone records."
She stared at the screens again.
"What the hell..."
Her fingers tapped lightly against the side of her sword.
"How can that be possible?"
The room stayed quiet.
Another staffer spoke up after a moment.
"We ran two theories, ma’am."
Vora waited.
"First, they might be genuine new heroes."
"The recruits from the lower zones who got fast-tracked due to solo performance."
She didn’t respond.
"Second... they could be spies. Planted from outside factions."
Vora’s eyes narrowed.
"From the Brood?"
"Maybe. Or worse."
"Any proof?"
"Nothing solid."
Vora gave a small nod.
"I see."
She turned away from the staff and stepped closer to the large glass window overlooking the arena.
On the screen, Ashblade was now entering the simulation zone.
Vora’s hand rested on her sword hilt.
"If you’re not enemies," she muttered, "then you have nothing to worry about."
She exhaled slowly.
"But if you are..."
Her visor flashed.
"Then this sword will be the last thing you see."
Behind her, the staff exchanged nervous glances.
One of them asked quietly, "So... what do we do now?"
Vora didn’t look back.
"Just observe," she said.
She stepped away from the center, slow and controlled.
Her fingers tapped once on the hilt of her sword, then dropped to her side.
"We don’t move until they give us a reason."
She turned her gaze back to the screen.
She was watching Ashblade and Whisperlash move through the simulation with precision.
"Let them show us what they really are."
And she waited. Eyes sharp. Sword ready.
