Her Food Livestream Broke the Galaxy-Chapter 31: Surely a Manager Hasn’t Lost Their Mind?
Jiang Qiuqiu had intentionally offered so many tasting spots.
It’s human nature to want to see it to believe it. No matter how much hype something gets, people will always be skeptical of what they haven’t experienced for themselves.
She was confident in her cooking, but she knew that most of her audience were loyal users of the Federation’s streaming service. If she wanted to jump ship to a new platform without starting from scratch, bringing her fans with her was the best option.
Jiang Qiuqiu was even thinking further ahead. ’If I don’t get banned for fleecing the Federation Star Network this time,’ she thought, ’I could actually use this account for a few more streams to drive traffic to my future company.’
Sure enough, after Jiang Qiuqiu announced she was switching platforms, her most loyal fans were the first to pledge their support.
#Wherever Juju goes, we’ll follow!#
#Where Juju’s kitchen is, that’s where us foodies will be!#
More neutral fans, however, asked: #Isn’t the Federation’s platform good? Why are you suddenly leaving? It’ll be weird getting used to another streaming platform...#
#Yeah, exactly! We’re all so used to the Federation Star Network! Please don’t go, Juju!#
"I’d love to stay here, too." Jiang Qiuqiu explained her situation honestly. "This is the platform where I had my very first stream. It’s where I met all of you and gained so many fans. Of course I don’t want to leave—"
"But..." Jiang Qiuqiu sighed softly. "Sometimes, it’s not up to me whether I get to stay." As she said this, her voice was tinged with emotion.
Meanwhile, Qian Xingxing, who was still watching Jiang Qiuqiu’s stream from the large hall, nearly jumped out of his seat.
"What does that mean?"
"What does she mean, she wants to stay but can’t? What’s going on? With her numbers, her potential, her incredible skill... what kind of brain-dead manager at the company wouldn’t sign her?"
"Uh, Mr. Qian, did you ever consider... maybe she’s not just some random person? What if she’s a corporate spy sent by another streaming platform?" a wide-eyed rich kid interjected. "You know, the kind sent here specifically to poach our users!" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
As soon as he said that, the others around them chimed in, agreeing it was definitely possible. Why would someone with such amazing cooking skills be undiscovered? And she looks so poor, too. They figured she was probably an actress hired by another company, sent specifically to poach their audience.
Qian Xingxing immediately shot down the idea with a roll of his eyes. "What streaming platform would waste a culinary master like her on an acting gig?"
"Besides, I’ve been lurking in her streams since she first started. She doesn’t seem like the type to pull something like that." After saying this, Qian Xingxing paused, at a loss.
’Right. Jiang Qiuqiu doesn’t seem like that kind of person, so what she said is probably true. Could it be—’
’—that his family’s company really does have some fucking idiot manager who failed to sign her?’
...
"No!" After thinking it over, Qian Xingxing slammed his hand on the table. "I have to talk to her!"
By the time Qian Xingxing decided to talk to Jiang Qiuqiu, she had already finished her explanation and was about to end the stream. Worried she would immediately turn off her terminal, Qian Xingxing used his admin privileges to send her a direct message from the system.
That way, she would be sure to see the message when she logged off.
While he waited, he dismissed the other rich kids. "You guys can head home. I’ve got something to take care of."
"Alright, Mr. Qian. We’re heading out."
"Yeah, go on."
Qian Xingxing sat down on the plush sofa, clutching his terminal.
