Her Dark Desires-Chapter 84: Alive

Eliana woke up and saw the space beside her was empty. She went downstairs and saw Zach setting the table.

Zach glanced at her and said, "Come eat."

Leo, on the other hand, left his food when he saw Eliana and ran to her.

Eliana chuckled and bent down to rub his ears and kiss him, saying, "Go finish your food."

As if understanding her, the dog rushed back to his food

"I can’t believe Leo has been with us for a year now."

Zach glanced at the dog, who was happily eating and made no comments.

Eliana looked at the food he had made, and apart from not having an appetite, it felt wrong for her to be eating while someone was currently fighting for his life in the hospital.

"What are you thinking about? Let’s eat." Zach said as he sat down to eat. He was about to take the first bite when he heard his wife question.

"Is Jason all right?"

Zach dropped his spoon with a sigh and replied, "He is alive if that is what you are asking."

"Really? That’s great news."

"He is in a coma though," Zach said as he resumed eating his meal.

"What?"

"The knife had pierced one of his lungs, so during the surgery, he went into a coma."

Eliana frowned seeing Zach eat so nonchalantly, and asked "Aren’t you even a bit affected by that? How can you eat despite everything that has happened?"

"Then should I starve and begin to worry about the life and death of a man I do not care about," Zach said and it was clear he was beginning to get angry by his tone. He dropped his spoon, drank the glass of water on the table, and stood up.

Eliana held his hand before he could walk past her and asked, "Why are you getting angry at me?"

"If you are that worried about Jason, then you should have followed them to the hospital, and I wouldn’t have stopped you. But you aren’t worried about him, are you? And it is that fact that scares you."

Eliana’s gaze drifted away, but he gently cupped her face, guiding her eyes back to his.

"It’s all right, Eli. You know you can always be yourself with me and I will never judge you for anything. I agree Jason was once your friend, and you both must have shared moments together, but he hasn’t been your friend for a long time, so it’s ok to not feel that worried about him."

"It doesn’t mean I want him to die."

"And he is not dead. He is alive and that is enough to continue with your life."

Eliana slowly nodded, "Sorry for ruining your appetite."

"Don’t apologize because I am currently craving something else," Zach whispered, capturing her lower lip with his before biting it softly.

Eliana pushed the dishes aside and slid onto the table, her lips meeting Zach’s in a tender kiss.

Zach’s fingers slowly unbuttoned her shirt, and the fact that she was not putting on any underwear was enough to increase his appetite for her.

His lips descended from her lips to kiss her whole body and Eliana’s soft moans fueled his hunger when his lips reached the part he had been aching to taste, he feasted on her without any hesitation and her tight grip on his hair with her loud moan was enough to tell him that he was doing a good job.

Zach felt Eliana tighten her hold on him as he was about to ring the doorbell. He looked at her and said, "Don’t be nervous."

"I’ve never actually dealt with cops before. Why do they need to question us when we are not even the culprit?"

"We hosted the party, and they will only be asking us basic questions. If there is anything you don’t wish to answer don’t answer, alright?"

Eliana nodded "I’m ready."

Instead of ringing the bell like he planned to, Zach put in the house code and entered the house.

As soon as Zach and Eliana entered the house, two men who were questioning Charlotte turned to look at them.

"This is my son, Zach, and his wife, Eliana." Charlotte introduced. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"I see. I am Detective Bryce, and this is Detective Leon; we are in charge of investigating the attempted murder of Jason Lennox." The man named Bryce introduced himself.

Eliana studied the two men and the one whose name is Bryce looked older than the man named Leon.

Unlike Bryce, who was smiling and speaking politely, Leon never said a word. He just noted some things down, and within fifteen minutes, Bryce was done asking questions.

"Thank you for your cooperation. We will contact you again once we have more questions," Bryce said to Charlotte and was about to stand up when he heard Leon ask.

"Were the both of you dating or maybe having an affair?"

"Watch your words," Zach warned coldly.

"We were friends and nothing more. Keep your dirty thoughts to yourself." Eliana replied with a sneer.

"Friends? But yet you haven’t gone to visit him at the hospital, nor have you even asked about his well-being once. Aren’t you curious to know if he is still alive or not?"

"I already know."

"Of course you do. Leah, is your assistant, right?"

"Yes, she is."

"Did you also know that she and Jason were having an affair?"

"They were what?" Eliana asked in disbelief.

Leon sighed as he commented, "You didn’t know."

"It doesn’t matter if they were having an affair or not. Jason’s life is not our concern." Zach replied.

"I thought we were done with the questions?" Charlotte asked as she gave Bryce a look.

"Eliana." Leon suddenly called her.

"What?" Why did this creepy man suddenly call out her name?

"According to Leah, when she found Jason on the floor, he mustered up his strength to call out a name and that name was yours, Eliana. So I will be the one to ask you what my partner here couldn’t, did you do it? Did you try to murder Jason Lennox?"
