Her Dark Desires-Chapter 71: Are You My Mother?
Dressed in another wedding dress and this time about to be married to an old fatso, Amber could not count the number of times she had cried and wished she was dead.
Her tears kept pouring in, ruining her makeup but that was no concern to her. No amount of her pleading could make her father change his mind, she was being sold off to a man twice her age, and that was final.
The wedding was being held in the garden of Nolan’s Mansion, and Adam came into Amber’s room without knocking and said, "Everyone is waiting outside for you. Today is an important day, Amber, don’t disappoint me.
"Dad, please, don’t make me do this. I don’t want to marry him."
Henry sighed and hugged his daughter "It’s alright, stop crying. You know I don’t like seeing tears in your eyes."
Hearing her father’s words made Amber’s heart suddenly feel light. She thought her father was going to cancel the marriage, but her hope shattered when he said, "You are my baby girl, and since you were young, I have always given you everything you wanted, but this time, I need you, the Moore that has always protected you and provided for your needs. Do this one thing for me, Amber." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Amber broke down in tears again and pulled away from her father’s embrace, saying, "You are only selling me off because I’m not your blood. If I was, then you would never have done this to me!"
Henry ignored her outburst and said, "I will walk you down the aisle just like before, and this time, I sincerely hope nothing goes wrong.
The wedding was a small gathering involving just Nolan’s friends and business partners, and the main reason for their invite was for them to see what beauty he had landed.
His eyes lit up when he saw his bride-to-be coming closer to him with Henry by her side, and the jealous look his friends were giving him made his ego rise.
Sloane, on the other hand, looked away when she saw her daughter’s red eyes because it was obvious the girl had been crying. For the first time in her life, she had lost and there was nothing she could do to prevent this wedding. No, this isn’t the end, It will only be the end when she sees Eliana suffer.
"Do you accept the man to be your husband?" The Officiant asked Amber and was surprised when she burst into tears but he didn’t say anything because he had been paid to just marry them and to not do anything else. So he repeated the question, and when he heard her yes, he pronounced them husband and wife.
A loud clap and cheering made the couple turn their head, and Amber felt rage when she saw Eliana in a blue gown, cheering happily.
"Congratulations sister!" Eliana shouted and even went forward to hug Amber who struggled to get out of her embrace but couldn’t
Eliana hugged Amber tightly and whispered "Welcome to your hell. This is just the beginning of your misery, so don’t disappoint me by crying too soon or by having that despair on your face. Our fun is just getting started, and it’s your wedding day, so smile."
Eliana pulled away and laughed when she saw the shocked expression on Amber’s face. She looked at Nolan and said, "I can’t believe Nolan Woods is now my brother-in-law."
"It is an honor to be related to the Sanders family," Nolan said with a smile.
Eliana hid her disgust when she heard him say he was now related to her, as if he was worth it "My sister is a little stubborn and may sometimes act naughty. What I’m trying to say is our parents spoiled her so much, so don’t be too hard on her. You must take care of her."
"Of course, I will," Nolan said, looking at Eliana’s beautiful face. He had seen Eliana a few times before she got married to Zachary Sanders, but he never knew she was this beautiful. Zachary Sanders was quite a lucky man.
"What are you doing here?" Amber asked after regaining herself from the shock of Eliana’s words.
"Dad invited me. I expressed my wish on how I wanted to see you and he gave me an invite." Eliana replied with a smile, but for some reason, Amber felt chills when she saw Eliana smile.
"Eliana wanted to see her sister get married, and there was nothing wrong with that. The two of you are sisters and shouldn’t be fighting. Eliana has reached out to you first because she was worried about you and you should be grateful that you have such a sister in your life." Henry spoke up.
Amber looked at her father in disbelief, since when did he suddenly want to form a bond with Eliana?
"You shouldn’t have invited Eliana without Amber’s permission," Sloane said angrily.
"Today is our daughter’s wedding day, let’s not make a fuss," Henry warned Sloane looked away from him.
"I agree with your father. Eliana is my guest and she must be respected. Don’t be too ungrateful, Amber. Your sister, who is a Sanders, came to grace her presence in your wedding, and I haven’t heard a single thank you from your mouth. No wonder she said you are spoilt, I see I have a lot to teach you." Nolan said, looking at Amber with disappointment in his eyes.
"It’s all right. I guess Amber still blames me for her misfortune, and I’m okay with that; after all, blaming someone whenever something bad happens to her has always been one of her childish habits. I just hope now that she is married, she will be able to act more mature." Eliana smiled and turned to Amber, "Enjoy your day; it’s a shame I can’t spend more time with you because I have a shoot. I would say you understand, but I know you don’t, since your career is now forever ruined. But don’t be sad, I’m sure being Nolan’s wife is better than being an actress."
Eliana said one last goodbye to Nolan and was about to leave when Sloane held her arm and said, "You may think you are smart and you’ve won, but I’m telling you that this is only the beginning."
Eliana looked at Sloane gripped on her arm, and asked a question that had been bothering her since Sloane’s visit to the hospital;, she looked at the woman whom she had always called Mom for years and asked, "Are you my mother?"
