Her Dark Desires-Chapter 50: Messed With The Wrong People
The Casiso family is a Mafia family deeply rooted in guns and drug trafficking, but yet, not once have they been caught by the police. People say it’s because the police have already been bought by them, while some say maybe it was because the man has never harmed women or children. There have been some rumors that say it is because of the presence of the Mafia family that the crime rate in the country has reduced, but whether those rumors were true or not, remains a mystery.
Don Marcelo sat in his golden chair the way a king would sit, and although all his hair had turned grey, his eyes were still clear and sharp. He ruled the Casiso family with an iron fist, and no one has ever dared to break his rules, but now someone has dared to break his rules, and his only punishment for disobedience was death, but how could he order the death of his only son?
"Words of Mason’s actions are spreading like wildfire, and rumors of him being your son are beginning to sound like less rumors, especially since you haven’t ordered his death." Marcelo’s underboss, Gerald said.
Marcelo looked at his underboss and long-time friend as he replied, "Cut off the tongue of everyone spreading those rumors."
"What is the use of cutting off their tongue if you plan to make Mason succeed you? Mason being your son, is no longer a secret needed for you to hide because you plan to make him your heir anyway. The real issue is that Mason has disobeyed your rule. He attacked a pregnant woman and caused the death of her baby, and the worst part is the woman he attacked is a member of the Sanders family."
"Mason said he had nothing to do with it, and it was all Jeremy’s idea, and he is sure Jeremy has been killed by that family. If you ask me, the score has been settled, a life for a life."
"I, on the other hand, think the situation is much more complicated. I have done some research on the Sanders family and from what I gathered the first son is just a businessman, but the second son, on the other hand, is known as the youngest man to have become a Captain in the Military and also the Matriarch of the family, Charlotte Sanders owns the Lave foundation, and from what I have gathered is that while we may have the police under our control, the Sanders have the government under theirs. I think this time, Mason has truly messed with the wrong people, and killing off some people wouldn’t solve this issue."
"You think I’m afraid of a businessman and a kid who became a captain at a young age?" Marcelo asked with a tinge of amusement.
"Not of them but of what will happen if you let Mason go. If Mason doesn’t get punished, then rules would be seen as some useless writing, and people will no longer feel the need to respect them."
"So are you asking me to kill my son, Gerald?" Marcelo asked in anger. The situation itself was starting to piss him off. If only that useless woman was able to give him a legitimate son, then he wouldn’t have minded killing off that idiot he got by mistake.
"I think our best solution is to find a way to pacify the Sanders family. Why don’t we invite Zachary over and have some words with him? If we pacify him then we can only shift the blame for what was done to his wife on Jeremy." Gerald spoke softly and he could see Marcelo thinking about his words.
"Let’s do just that."
....
Lave foundation.
"Eliana, you are two minutes late." Charlotte scolded as soon as Eliana entered her office.
"I’m sorry Mom." Eliana apologizes with a sheepish smile.
Vivian, who was standing by Charlotte’s side, frowned when she heard Eliana calling her boss Mom but immediately regained her composure. Even though she has worked for Charlotte for years and has sometimes had dinner with the Sanders family, Charlotte has never truly treated her anything less than a subordinate, and seeing the way she so easily accepted Eliana to the point of allowing her to call her mother left a bit of envy in her heart.
"Change it as we have discussed, and for the Siol event, I will be going with Eliana."
"We are going to Siol? Eliana asked in surprise.
Vivian glanced at Eliana before saying, "But I already have my bag packed."
"Then unpack it, what’s the problem?" Charlotte asked with a frown.
"It’s..... it’s nothing." Vivian said. "I will go change the plans immediately."
Vivian nodded at Eliana in courtesy before leaving the office.
"I guess your assistant is already used to following you everywhere."
"Vivian is a good assistant but sometimes she forgets herself., Charlotte said, still annoyed at Vivian’s question.
"There is nothing wrong with getting comfortable with the person you work with," Eliana said with a smile.
Charlotte scoffed and asked, "Isn’t that the reason you are unemployed?"
Eliana became speechless and didn’t know what to say next, so she asked "Why are we going to Siol City?"
"There is a fashion show coming up this week, and I called in a favor for you to be one of the Models. If everything goes well, you will be able to take your career to higher heights."
"Hold on. The only fashion show event I know to be happening this week is the Fyp fashion show where Cindy plans to showcase all her latest collections. So, you are telling me that you were able to get me in as one of her models?" Eliana asked in disbelief.
"Yes."
Eliana shouted in excitement and rushed to Charlotte. "Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are the best, Mom."
Charlotte laughed as she asked "Are you that excited?"
Eliana pulled away to look at her mother as she replied with a smile "Very excited."
Seeing the smile on Eliana’s face made Charlotte happy. She had never had a daughter, but a part of her had always wondered what it would feel like to have one. Was it the same feeling she was feeling now?
