HELP! These Girls Wants To Kill Me-Chapter 247
Even though Lin Meilin told him to leave, she didn’t let him go for the next few days. She wanted to train him a bit more. In case he came across a scenario in which he had to fight... she wanted him to be ready. Especially now that the thirteen major sects are at war with each other, it was hard to say what would happen.
She would have loved to see his little adventure, but unfortunately, she still had many things she needed to take care of.
"Well..." standing on the platform, Lin Meilin nodded in approval while looking at the figure of Yang Ze lying down exhausted. During the past few days, she had seen him struggle and learn. Even though he was nowhere near where she wanted him to be, his progress was still gratifying.
"Now that you have learned how to fight and how to properly use your skills, it is about time I impart to you a skill of my own."
Without waiting for him to reply, Lin Meilin kept on speaking further.
"There are three types of skills that I can teach you."
"The first one is an offensive skill."
"The second one is a defensive skill."
"And the third one is an auxiliary skill."
Yang Ze, who was lying on the ground, breathing heavily, almost jumped up in joy when he heard Lin Meilin speak those words. The woman standing in front of him was one of the strongest beings that he had ever seen, and for her to be willing to impart to him skills... Yang Ze’s breathing hastened as he thought about it.
And just when he was smiling from ear to ear and was getting more and more excited, Lin Meilin’s next words were enough to extinguish his excitement.
"You can only choose one."
Her words instantly made Yang Ze twitch his lips in displeasure. For a moment, he wanted to argue and get all those skills, but looking at her smiling face, he shivered before swallowing back his words.
Taking a deep breath, Yang Ze suppressed the disappointment before thinking about the options Lin Meilin gave him.
The first thing he crossed out was the offensive technique. Even though an offensive skill from Lin Meilin might be something extraordinarily powerful, he didn’t actually lack it. With Black Tiger Technique, the wind blades, and now that he was on the verge of a breakthrough to the Core Condensation realm, where he would control the elements... an offensive skill wasn’t going to add much value to him.
He then thought about the defensive skill. Right now, what he lacks the most is defensive skills. There was not a single talent or skill that he could use to defend himself from the incoming attacks.
Yang Ze almost made a decision before thinking about his last option of auxiliary skill.
Taking a deep breath, he hesitated for a moment before asking Lin Meilin.
"Do you have a healing skill?"
This was what he wanted to know the most. He had lost count of how many times he had been injured. Even though a defensive skill was good, it wasn’t omnipotent. What if he gets injured? In that case, what was he going to do? He can’t just rely on the Clock of Time to restore himself back to his prime condition every time he gets injured, can he?
Not to mention the long cooldown, the fact that it had something called ’fate’s backlash’ was more than enough for Yang Ze to hesitate. He still didn’t know what the so-called ’fate’s backlash’ was. But he had a feeling that it wasn’t going to be pretty.
After arguing with himself for a good while, he ultimately made up his mind.
"I..." Taking a sharp breath, he spoke in a firm voice. "I want to learn auxiliary skills."
"Do you have any healing skills on you?"
"...."
"...."
"A wise choice." After a brief silence, Lin Meilin nodded in response as she raised her hand and threw a small book towards him.
"This is called the ’starlight healing’. The most difficult healing technique in the entire continent."
"But I doubt it will pose a challenge to you."
She wasn’t worried that the brat wouldn’t be able to learn this technique. He had mastered the Mystic Nether Art, which was the most difficult technique since time immemorial. If he could master that, then this starlight healing was child’s play to him.
"Mmm..." Yang Ze gave her a simple nod as he caught the book and held it tightly. With this in hand, he didn’t have to worry about getting hurt and falling into a disadvantageous situation.
"Well." Clapping her hands, Lin Meilin waved her hand as a small cloth bag appeared in front of Yang Ze.
"Some rations and things that you might need for your journey."
After taking one last look at Yang Ze, Lin Meilin hesitated for a moment, wondering if she should talk about the Twin Star Soul Lock or not. But in the end decided against it. By now, she knew clearly where and how that Twin Star Soul Lock came from.
It was the handiwork of her dearest daughter.
’Maybe next time.’ With the presence of Twin Star Soul Lock, Yang Ze’s strength has reduced by almost forty percent without him even realising it.
His strength will decrease even further if he stays far away from Lin Yue, and the same would happen to her.
Although she didn’t know why her daughter would do something so stupid, now was not the time to ask.
’Let him figure it out by himself.’
Making up her mind, Lin Meilin didn’t waste time thinking about it. She merely raised her finger to poke his nose before speaking in a soft voice as her figure slowly disappeared from there.
"Come find me when you have completed this mission of yours."
"....."
"Heh." Looking at the empty place where Lin Meilin had been standing just a moment ago, Yang Ze couldn’t help but shake his head with a bitter smile. Even though he hated to admit it, he was already beginning to miss Lin Meilin.
After the loss of Cang Yue, it was she who saved his life and even gave him a new direction. Yang Ze didn’t know what she was thinking or what she was planning, but her care for him remained true. Everything she taught him, everything she showed him... it was done purely for his benefit.
And if that wasn’t enough, she even took him as an apprentice and gave him her precious ’milk’ as well as the numerous precious herbs when his eyes melted.
Even though Yang Ze didn’t want to admit it, she truly played the part of being a master perfectly. Without her, god knows how long it would have taken him to understand the knowledge about the Core Condensation realm and above, not to mention the techniques and knowledge that she gave him to step into the Core Condensation realm.
Even though he didn’t know why she was doing it or why, even with such strength, living in this small town, he didn’t ask. Some things were better left unsaid. Perhaps in the future, when the two of them became close, he might ask her. But till then... it was better to just focus on oneself.
With this in mind, Yang Ze stood up, patted his chest as a blue light enveloped his body before disappearing completely, changing him into a new set of clothes.
It was only then that Yang Ze reached inside the cloth bag. Other than a number of pills, there were a few dry rations and a map.
Ignoring the pills and rations, Yang Ze took out the map, checked his position and picked out the direction he was going to go.
After making sure nothing was amiss, he took one last look at the Yuyang city below him before bending his knees slightly as he jumped up in the air and floated away.
Even though he could run fifteen hundred miles a day with the help of his talent, Earthroot Vigour, Yang Ze didn’t feel the need to.
He doubted anyone could see the small figure of him flying in the air. Besides... even if someone saw him, he didn’t need to be afraid. After all, he wasn’t a weakling anymore.
With the strength of Vein Expansion, he was more than qualified to run amok if he wanted to.
Core condensation experts usually stayed in seclusion, and Soul Tempering powerhouses were just a handful in number, each one taking care of their respective sects. In this case, there was no one Yang Ze needed to be afraid of.
As long as he didn’t seek death, no one would be able to harm him.
With this in mind, Yang Ze’s expression turned carefree as he began to float in the air, slowly flying towards his new destination.
Just to make sure he wouldn’t stir troubles unconditionally, he made sure to change his appearance to that of an old man in his seventies with a face full of wrinkles.
It was only then that he leisurely began to fly towards the capital of Yan Kingdom... Redcloud Imperial City.
Other than the name of the city and the location on the map, Lin Meilin didn’t tell him anything about the place. During the past few days, Yang Ze thought of going to Yuyang City to use his sign-in and gather some information about this imperial city. But to his dismay, Lin Meilin refused to let him go. Every time he even thought about that, he would be beaten black and blue as she would scold him to focus on his training first. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Forget it... I doubt there is anything I need to know about that city." Instead of wasting his time asking here and getting exaggerated information, it was much better to simply go to the capital city and explore it himself. He still hadn’t forgotten the objective of this mission. Although he didn’t know what was so special about the thing, he could only imagine.
Something that Lin Meilin needs...
’Must be some heaven-defying treasure. Yang Ze couldn’t help but mutter to himself. Although he didn’t know why, instead of doing it herself, she sent him, and he didn’t think too much about it. Since it was a mission, he was going to treat it like one. Lin Meilin wanted him to gain experience and learn, and that was exactly what he was going to do.
—-----------------------
For the next three days, Yang Ze flew nonstop towards the imperial city. Even without taking any rest and constantly flying at a high speed, the imperial city was still a day away.
If not for the fact that he could fly and it didn’t consume too much of his energy, as well as the fact that he had plenty of rations and pills... it would have taken Yang Ze almost two weeks to reach this place, even with his Earthroot Vigour talent.
*Rumble...
While Yang Ze was lost in his train of thought, a thick bolt of lightning flashed before his eyes as it began to rain.
"Damn it... Just my shitty luck." Cursing in a low voice, Yang Ze looked around for a while before focusing his gaze on a dilapidated building in the distance.
Without wasting any time, Yang Ze simply flew towards it.
Even though he could use his internal energy to prevent the raindrops from touching him, he didn’t want to. He had been flying for three days non-stop and even if his face didn’t show it, he was tired.
He could also choose to conjure a raincoat or an umbrella, but he didn’t want to. He simply wanted to rest for a while.
The moment Yang Ze got closer to the dilapidated building, his eyes narrowed into slits.
"There is someone inside?" He could see the smoke drifting out of the building with a hazy yellow glow escaping outside.
Yang Ze glanced at the old building that looked like it was about to fall apart and then at the smoke before taking a deep breath as he used his illusion to hide his figure and carefully peeked inside the building from a hole.
And the moment he peeked inside, his breathing almost stopped, and his eyes narrowed into slits.
Inside the diaphanous building, there was a small bonfire lit and just beside it was the figure of a woman in her thirties sitting quietly with her eyes seemingly lost in the crackling of the fire.
Yang Ze cast a glance at her personal panel before nodding in relief as he cancelled his illusion and slowly walked inside with a gentle smile on his face.
The woman didn’t seem to notice his presence at first. It wasn’t until Yang Ze was standing right beside her that she lifted her head and cast a glance at him.
Upon seeing that it was an old man with a face full of wrinkles, her face flashed with displeasure before she averted her eyes away from him, clearly not bothering to pay any attention to this newcomer.
Yang Ze, on the other hand, didn’t mind her reaction. He took a step forward, cuffed his hands and spoke in a gentle voice.
"This... young heroine... Do you know where we are?"
