Chapter 141: Chapter 141 A plan to escape V

Several little laughs came from outside, Daniel, who was versed in reading, knew the one that normally made that noise — it was no other than a hyena.

Nicole must have released them, and they were circling around the house, meaning they were looking for him.

Damn it — he was doomed.

Running in this situation with Alex was impossible, especially with hyenas on their trail, and he didn’t even know how many there were to take precautions.

This wasn’t probably the best idea to get things done, and at the moment he was limping out of the basement with Alexander he saw the young guy with shiny blond hair.

"Shhhh, quiet — I won’t make a sound, I promise." The boy held his hands in the air, warning them about Ricardo.

Daniel didn’t get what a man in a wheelchair was capable of doing, and that answered his question when he heard a rifle noise in the air; the fucker opened an aperture in the wall which wasn’t under the drawer. Alex must have thought it was a drawer, but it wasn’t — more like a safe — and in his hand was a dangerous gun loaded with bullets to the brim.

He and the boy could see it from where they hid at the corner of the house. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

If he thought the hyenas were bad, apparently it was worse knowing you’re getting killed by a cripple, which wasn’t a bit funny.

"Okay, what is your name, young boy?" The boy immediately began to blush.

Daniel, irritated at his actions, snapped his fingers at him.

"Answer me, young man — you know I am attractive, but this is a life-and-death situation." He got the call and shook his head instantly.

"As you wish, my name is Damien will—" Daniel shook his head.

"No worries about the surname; none of us cares actually, so Damian, you will help me with Alex and take him through a place I will be showing you; why Ricardo — it’s high time he permanently sleeps underneath the ground." He let out a grim smile.

Damian blinked — what now? Him trying to help pretended he wasn’t involved so that Matt won’t hunt him and his generation won’t put himself in trouble.

"I actually plan to show you the way you can use to run and not help; my life and family safety is a priority." Damian spoke out, but Daniel slammed a palm over his mouth before shoving him against a pillar as Ricardo’s wheelchair immediately passed by.

When seconds passed and nothing came out, Daniel peeked.

"Well Damian, sorry to say this but you’re now officially being targeted. I believe our voice has now been heard, so it’s either to follow me and go and warn and hide your family or continue believing in your stupid ideology that Matt won’t end your life when he awakes. Oh darling, dying wouldn’t be so easy even if you beg him for it." Daniel cooed.

His hands still held on Alex, and with several thoughts Damian still wasn’t convinced.

"Fuck, stay there if you want; I am doing this on my own — damn, you’re so useless." Daniel hissed and took in the hands of Alex, limping away.

Never in his life would he ever involve himself in the mafia world; peace of mind was so far from him at this level. He looked around and stopped when a cold steel met his neck.

"You rat, where did you keep my boy? Bring him out unless I will blow up your brain." Ricardo threatened, eyes ice cold.

Daniel, who froze, had his back turned to Ricardo. He was holding on to the trigger and eying him in case he did anything.

"My hands are full, sir — can’t you see?" he complained, but Ricardo didn’t move.

"Drop him this moment and be on your way; let Matt out wherever you put him or you can kiss yourself goodbye." Ricardo spoke out fearlessly.

Daniel sighed.

A cripple man threatening someone agile and healthy — God forgive him, because he didn’t want to do this; murder wasn’t in his agenda now, but it saved his skin, babies and lover at his arms. Killing this pussy would be the least of his problems.

So Daniel did as he was required: he laid down Alex gently at the edge of a wall while he raised his hands in mock surrender, turning face to face to meet with Ricardo.

Having met him eyeball to eyeball, Daniel tugged an eerie smile on his face.

"So Ricardo, if my memory serves me correctly I think Adrian kinda mentioned that he sliced off your manhood." He placed a hand on his jaw like he was in serious thought.

"If you’re that formidable why didn’t you go after him? Enjoy tormenting a helpless boy — isn’t it because I heard that in your youth you were kinda worse than your son’s, so seeing this cowardice in you is somehow disappointing that you put blackmailing itself to shame." Daniel giggled as he spoke.

He knew he hit the button because at the mention of that traumatizing accident and Adrian himself Ricardo turned white like chalk; his hands began to shake.

"No, Adrian, it’s not what it seems — never will I try to hurt you." For whatever reason Ricardo began to think that he was Adrian and began to shake like a chicken drenched in rain — how pathetic.

Adrian really destroyed the old man’s mind because whatever experience it was that triggered this, it was indeed a bad one. Ricardo trembled and in the process dropped the gun on the floor.

Daniel aesthetically picked it up and blew off an invisible dust which wasn’t there in the first place.

Easy peasy — that’s before the cupboard he put Matt in began to get knocked on as Matt seemed to have awakened.

"Daniel, get me out of this place or I am going to gut you alive — I am warning you right now." His voice resounded as a dreadful warning.

Daniel, busy, turned rigid. This was his cue to escape now and the sign that he had wasted way too much time talking with the mentally unstable man who was beyond repair all thanks to Adrian.

Maybe Adrian really did help him escape after all.

Taking back Alex to his shoulders he watched the old man cower and rolled his eyes seeing that. So hurrying, he limped to the same alley where he escaped.

It was covered with blood and urine stench; it made Daniel so discomforted, but he still went on. Using his legs to stamp around the floor rug he felt a hollow sound which sounded differently from the other floor, so he pulled off the rug where Alex rested on the wall.

Alex’s breath was turning more ragged by each minute, and Daniel could only pray that he reached any medical facility fast before the dreadful happens.

And right under was the underground exit, aligned with a staircase. Like the gods were with him he found a switch and God — it was working.

Slacking Alex’s hands over his shoulders once more, he limped down the staircase slowly and steady, but as he got lower and lower at the end he saw something — a shadow baring its teeth at him — and he froze in alarm.
