Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are Are So Dangerous! [BL]-Chapter 304: Seizing Control
Chapter 304: Seizing Control
With his confusion settled, he refocused on the interrogation.
Although... at this point, he had been questioning Deimos daily, and there really wasn’t much left to ask. frёewebnoѵēl.com
As he pondered what to do next, Laxus suddenly spoke up from behind him.
"Rocco, from now on, the focus will be on investigating Ares, and Mir will be the primary target. Maybe it’s time to wrap up Deimos’s interrogation and report to His Majesty?"
Oh! Perfect timing, Laxus!
That was exactly what he had been debating.
Nodding, Rocco stood up with a decisive "Yeah, that makes sense."
As he did, Deimos—who had been watching him silently—suddenly spoke.
"...So, this is the end of my interrogation?"
Rocco turned back with a curious "Hmm?" before pausing for a moment, then giving a small nod.
"Yeah. I think I’ll wrap things up here. Well, if the king says otherwise, that’s a different story, though."
With that, he finally turned on his heel and walked away.
Days of missions had left him exhausted, and he’d already been considering requesting some time off.
He had been of great help to his father during the interrogations, so now seemed like a good time to consult His Majesty about it.
Thinking along those lines, he took Laxus’s hand and exited the prison.
They had only just arrived, but since there was really nothing left to interrogate Mir about, ending things early wouldn’t be a problem.
As he walked out as if it were the most natural thing in the world, a slight unease nagged at the back of his mind.
It was strange that Deimos wasn’t trying to stop him.
Under normal circumstances, it would’ve been expected for him to at least say, "Wait a moment."
Had Deimos, despite his demeanor, grown tired of these interrogations as well?
A faint, unpleasant premonition stirred within Rocco.
But rather than face it, he tightened his grip on Laxus’s hand and dashed out of the underground prison without looking back.
"...So, the time has finally come."
Once he confirmed that their presence had completely vanished from the underground prison, he leaned back against the wall.
Day after day, those two had come.
And he had been observing, most of all, the heir of the Del Fiore family.
From what he could see, the curse had finally embedded itself into his soul.
It had taken longer than expected.
The curse, created through the "Ritual of the Demon" secretly engraved onto Laxus Del Fiore on the first day of interrogation, had struggled to take root.
His soul was unexpectedly strong, resisting its influence far longer than anticipated.
But in the end, everything had gone according to plan.
Now, at last, he could proceed to the final stage of his scheme.
The mere thought of it caused the corners of his lips to curl upward.
"...Time to claim that pure soul for myself."
Up until now, he had considered it best to use blood to craft a new vessel, avoiding the risks of directly seizing a soul.
But now, an opportunity had presented itself.
It would be far more rewarding to take full advantage of it.
He would claim that child’s untainted soul for his own.
With Laxus Del Fiore as his vessel, his goal was now well within reach.
His mind racing with possibilities, he abandoned his old, useless shell and stepped into the outside world.
At that moment, the vessel he had discarded—freed from his soul’s control—awoke.
"—Hah! Wh-What is...?!"
The pitiful descendant—Ares, was it?
Ares stared at him in shock, eyes wide with disbelief.
But he no longer had any interest in a discarded vessel.
Ignoring Ares’ confusion, he let his translucent form slip out of the cell.
Through the walls.
Through the ceiling.
In mere moments, he emerged above ground, right in time to see those two leaving the royal palace.
And so, he moved in a straight line toward his new vessel.
"Laxus, want to go for a walk tomorrow?"
"Sorry... I’ve got an important job I can’t skip—"
With that moment of distraction, he plunged into Del Fiore’s body from behind.
At once, he bound the original soul with chains, seizing full control of the body.
A few seconds were all it took for his soul to settle in.
As he focused his consciousness, the body gradually responded to his control.
"Hm? Laxus? Why’d you go all quiet all of a sudden?"
Once the transition was complete, he loosened the stiffness in his expression and smiled.
"—Ah, sorry. I just zoned out for a moment."
Was that the right tone?
Imitating the boy’s voice and demeanor, he responded casually.
And just as expected, the foolish child accepted it without question, nodding.
"You sure you’re okay...? You seem tired..."
The child, his expression tinged with worry, posed a question.
This was a perfect opportunity. Suppressing the smirk threatening to tug at his lips, Rocco calmly made a suggestion.
"Yeah, I guess I am a little tired. Hey, why don’t you stay over tonight? I feel like I’d recover in no time if I slept next to you, Laxus!"
"Huh?!"
As he looked down at Rocco’s rapidly reddening face, he quickly understood.
Ah, so this kid had a thing for Del Fiore. That made things much easier.
With just a little more pressure, he’d get the answer he wanted. Understanding this, Laxus deepened his smile and pulled Rocco into an embrace.
A whisper at the ear—such a simple thing, yet enough to ensnare someone with feelings for you.
"Please... I won’t be able to rest unless you’re with me, Rocxo."
He gazed down at the boy, whose face had turned bright red as he silently opened and closed his mouth like a fish out of water.
Before long, that foolish child, fidgeting all the while, gave a tiny nod.
"F-Fine... but just for tonight..."
Where Laxus couldn’t see, hidden in the embrace, Rocco couldn’t suppress the victorious curl of his lips.
A sudden sleepover with Laxus! His heart was pounding like crazy!
