Help! I unknowingly enrolled myself into a supernatural Academy-Chapter 74 - 73: Can I not go
Aiden pouted, looking at the small body of Rainbow he still held. "Fine, fine. I can’t even tell people that I’m Ryker’s true mate. I’m the unluckiest true mate in history. First of all, the real true mate and the one who is supposed to be with Ryker is already reduced to the position of mistress, and if I want to be with my mate, we have to be together in secret. Poor me."
Rainbow’s mental laughter rang in Aiden’s mind. "I thought you wanted to give up on Ryker because you didn’t want to be a third party, so why would you be a mistress if you’ve already given up on him?"
Aiden’s pout deepened. "Of course, I want to give up on him, but I can’t! Because every time I see him, all I think about is how I want to hug him and kiss him.How I want to hold him tight to myself without letting go. I want to be with him. I know I like him, but this mate bond is making my love become unreasonable, and it’s taking all my willpower for me to not be with him.
"But now we’re going to spend three days together for this punishment. Now, how do you expect me to avoid the person that destiny already said is going to be mine, and give up on someone that destiny is doing everything in its willpower to bring us together? If you know a way, please tell me."
Rainbow’s voice sounded in Aiden’s mind. "Well, I don’t know, okay? The only way I know of to get rid of your mate is to deny your bond and deny your mate. Even after doing this, I heard their Mother Goddess or whatever, will punish them for doing that and basically disobeying her will. The two mates will lose their wolf, and losing their wolf means losing their powers.
"And from what I read two centuries ago, it’s even harder for a Dominant Alpha and a Dominant Omega to deny each other. The only way for them to deny their bond and get rid of each other is if one of them dies. And even after one dies, the one that lives will only remain in his wolf form and will only change back to his human form anytime there’s a full moon. The fact that you and Ryker are even able to resist each other right now is still a miracle to me ."
Aiden grimaced at how extreme this mating bond was. He was thoroughly confused. "If it’s this extreme, then why can’t Ryker just tell his family that he has found his mate, he doesn’t even have to mention my name? I just don’t understand. If his family knows the repercussions of Ryker not being with his true mate, then why will they want to prevent it?"
Rainbow’s voice sounded in Aiden’s mind once again, and the bird replied solemnly, "Well, I can think of many reasons. Number one, which is, you don’t have your power yet, which means you’re basically useless as you are now.
Number two: I personally will never let Ryker tell his family about you or mention anything about him finding his mate because they are not stupid, they just have to find out who Ryker is close too this days apart from us friends and bingo they will discover you which means secret out in the open and next they will find out about you being a Tribrid, which is exactly why I’m going with you to this cleaning whatever to warn Ryker about telling his family about you, because it’s going to be dangerous.
And number three:let’s say by some crazy luck they did not think of you being a Tribrid, you don’t have your wolf yet, and all Ryker’s current fiancée’s family has to do is to convince Ryker’s family that their daughter, Seraphina, is better suited for Ryker, and then bye-bye, you."
Aiden frowned. "But you just mentioned that if I die, Ryker will remain in his wolf form, and you also told me that we’re not going to be telling anyone about you, and you want to talk to Ryker—isn’t that exposing yourself?"
Rainbow’s tone sharpened. "I’m starting to think if your being intelligent is truly real.
They can still ask Ryker to deny you and then kill you right now without causing Ryker any repercussions, because you don’t have your wolf yet. You’re not a Dominant Omega yet, which is a loophole they can use. And the reason I’m going to be talking to Ryker now is that Ryker can be trusted, he is your true mate, and he definitely won’t do anything to harm you."
Aiden pouted, feeling slightly defensive. "I’m a genius, okay? And I’m definitely very intelligent, but forgive me when I don’t understand all these supernatural jargons because this is all new to me, okay? Now I understand what you’re trying to tell me.
Ryker can’t tell his family about me for two reasons. Number one: I’m a Tribrid, and that’s something they shouldn’t know because if they know that, there’s a high possibility that I might be in danger.
And number two: Ryker can’t also tell them, and I can’t tell the whole school that Ryker is mine because someone might just try to kill me off before I mature. And that leaves only one outcome for me. Since I can’t deny my bond with Ryker, as I like him and I will have to die—or Ryker will have to die—if I want to deny my bond with him then I can’t do that, and I can’t ignore Ryker either, since you said this sense of longing will continue to grow stronger, then the only thing left for me to do is to become a mistress.
The one thing that I hate the most. Well, that’s great, very great in fact."
"Don’t worry, you guys will just be facing rumours here and there, but I’m sure you can handle it," Rainbow said dismissively. "You’ll be fine in the end."
Aiden glared at Rainbow. How could being called a mistress and a third party ’just a rumor’? He couldn’t even tell people he was the legitimate one, and Rainbow dared to say it’s just rumour he should be able to handle it.
Aiden frowned and asked the bird, "And you don’t think I’ll be able to talk Seraphina into letting Ryker go? You know, the funniest part is that the more I think of how my mate is currently in an engagement with Seraphina, the more I want to kill her. Is that supposed to be normal?"
Rainbow nodded his little bird head. "Well, that’s normal. You’re supposed to feel like that. You’re just feeling territorial."
Rainbow then asked Aiden, "Ask yourself truly, do you think asking Seraphina to step back from the relationship will work?"
Aiden sighed. "No, I don’t think it will work, but I don’t want to be a mistress, okay?"
Rainbow’s voice sounded in Aiden’s mind once again, and the bird said to Aiden, "Well, you just have to live with that. Haven’t you heard of some sexy seductress who steals people’s souls away? You can just put up the persona of a sexy seductress, one that stole Ryker’s soul away."
Aiden couldn’t help but laugh because what Rainbow said was truly funny. Aiden then grew serious again. "Truly, how am I going to spend the next three days with Ryker? That’s like torture. It’s like you’re seeing your favorite cake being dangled in front of you all the time, and all you want to do is just eat the cake, but people keep stopping you and telling you not to eat it. That’s totally unfair, okay?"
Rainbow’s voice then sounded in Aiden’s mind again, and the bird said to Aiden, "You know, you don’t have to worry about how to spend the three days with Ryker.
I think you should think more of how you will tell Ryker about the kiss between you and Zane, and how you will ensure that Ryker does not tear Zane’s throat open when you finally tell him or when Zane himself mentions it to Ryker."
Rainbow continue in a heavy tone. "I’m telling you, you will definitely not think about spending time with Ryker when you think of all these problems and how to solve them, because let me tell you, Aiden, Wolves are territorial, and I’m talking about normal Wolves.Ryker is a Dominant Alpha, a very territorial being, and you’re his mate, which means that you’re number one on what Ryker will be feeling territorial about.
Now tell me what that kind of person will do when he learns that someone not only touched you but kissed you, which is something that even he himself has not done."
Aiden couldn’t help but become speechless at Rainbow’s reminder. He thought of all the scenarios that this three days together could lead to, and all of them ended with Zane dying or becoming critically injured. Aiden couldn’t help but shudder in fear. He looked at Rainbow’s little bird body in his hand.
"Rainbow, can I just not go?" he asked weakly.
