Help! I Became A Guy In A BL Novel!-Chapter 30: Take Off Your Shirt
Chapter 30: Take Off Your Shirt
Riven was annoyed. No—he was furious. Ronan stood before the group, arms crossed, radiating that effortlessly cool and untouchable aura of his, giving out instructions like nothing had happened. Like he hadn’t dragged Riven away last night, pinned him and rudely punished him the other day.
And now? Not a single glance in Riven’s direction.
Oh, sure, he looked at everyone else—Troy, Raphael, the other warriors, even the ground got more attention than Riven did.
Riven scowled. Unbelievable.
"Today’s training will be focused on agility, endurance, and combat drills," Ronan announced, his voice firm but detached. "Before we leave for the first hunt in three days, I need to make sure all of you can keep up."
Riven bristled. Oh, he’ll keep up all right. He’ll keep up by clinging onto Raphael’s very muscular arms, thank you very much.
Troy, the unofficial leader of their little group, clapped his hands together. "Alright, you heard the Alpha! Let’s get moving to the training grounds!"
The others started moving, and Riven fell into step beside Raphael, shooting him a sideways glance. "He’s acting like last night didn’t happen," he grumbled.
Raphael turned to look at Riven and was met with his droopy ears, "Did you say something?" He asked.
Riven shook his head vigorously.
Still sulking, Riven made it his mission to cling to Raphael for the rest of training.
The training grounds were a large open field, the earth packed firm from years of drills and combat. Various obstacles had been set up—wooden logs, ropes tied between posts, uneven terrain, and of course, a rock wall that looked particularly unnecessary in Riven’s opinion.
Ronan stood at the front, watching them all with that same unreadable expression. "We’ll begin with endurance. You run until I say stop. If you drop before I call it, you’ll be running twice as much tomorrow."
A collective groan rippled through the group, but no one dared argue.
Riven sighed dramatically. "Raphael," he whispered. "I am not built for this."
"Shut up and run," Raphael muttered before breaking into a sprint.
Riven groaned but followed after him, struggling to keep pace. The others ran smoothly, like they’d been doing this their entire lives. Riven, on the other hand, was gasping for dear life within minutes. Which was understandable, as he was the only one without training.
Riven thought he would have to sit at a table and offer his pearls fo wisdom, he did not know he would have to be doing this! He felt like Ronan was trying to kill him.
His breath came in ragged puffs, and he barely dodged a tree root that was definitely not there a second ago. He stumbled slightly, but before he could face-plant, a firm hand grabbed his arm.
"Are you seriously already dying?" Raphael asked, steadying him.
Riven grinned despite his exhaustion. "I love when you touch me, Raphael. Maybe I should fall more often."
Raphael immediately let go. "Figure it out yourself."
Riven cackled.
Ambrose frowned and asked, "How are you so weak?"
Riven shot a look at Ronan’s direction and said, "I had an exhausting night." ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
Ronan’s sharp ears seemed to catch his words, he froze for a second before resuming.
After what felt like an eternity (but was probably just ten minutes), Ronan finally called an end to the run.
Riven collapsed dramatically onto the ground. "I have been murdered by exercise," he declared. "Tell my nonexistent children I love them."
"You’re not done yet," Ronan’s voice cut through his whining. Why was Riven being like this? He proposed this three-day training session for him. He knew Riven was not trained and he would find it difficult in the wilderness.
Besides, after yesterday’s session, he knew how much stamina Riven had, it was not much, he would not last more than one round. Still, he should have gone easy on him considering it was his first time.
Ronan ignored him. "Next is agility. Troy, take them through the course."
The obstacle course was... unreasonable. Crawling under low beams, leaping between uneven platforms, climbing trees... Riven wanted to scream ’I am a wolf, not a monkey!!!’
Riven groaned. "Raphael, my dear, sweet, ridiculously attractive friend, what exactly am I supposed to do here?"
Raphael pinched the bridge of his nose. "Riven—"
"No, really, what do I do?" Riven asked, not even trying to hide his cluelessness. "Do I jump before the log hits me? Or is it after? And the crawling thing—are we supposed to make it graceful, or can I just flop through it?"
"You’re impossible," Raphael muttered.
"Impossible to resist? I know."
Raphael ignored him and simply demonstrated what he had to do. Riven tried his best (debatable) to follow suit.
It was... Not smooth.
He got stuck under the low beams
"RAPHAEL HELP ME I THINK I’M A PERMANENT RESIDENT HERE NOW!"
Raphael rolled his eyes and helped Riven out. The point of this exercise was to foster brotherhood, he felt more like a babysitter at this point.
He completely miscalculated his jump and ended up clinging to Raphael’s waist for dear life, "If your pant slips off during this and I fall, I will know I died doing what I love!" Riven still found the time to tease Raphael in this situation.
And the dodging logs? He took three direct hits. He was whimpering at this point and Raphael thought he should console this poor boy.
The final stage was combat, but at least they were given a break before that happened.
Riven was drowning in self-pity when Raphael approached him with a cream in his hand. "Well, are you going to make me say it?"
Riven was confused, "Say what?" He was too sad to flirt, he made an embarrassment out of himself in front of hot men!
Raphael gritted his teeth and said, "Take off your shirt."
Riven blinked. Then, ever so slowly, a wicked grin spread across his lips.
"Raphael," he drawled, tilting his head. "If you wanted me to undress, you could’ve just asked nicely."
Raphael immediately regretted his choice of words. "I didn’t mean it like that—"
