Chapter 27: Chapter 28 She’s not here, can’t sign the order!

"Unfilial offspring!"

"Tang Xuewu, Qin Long, from now on, you are no longer members of the Tang Family!"

"Get out of this house immediately!"

Old Master Tang was so furious that he smashed his teacup on the ground, his entire body trembling as he cursed Tang Xuewu.

"Grandpa, please don’t be angry. They aren’t worth it!" Tang Chuchu immediately rushed over and helped the old man sit down.

An imperceptible smile touched the corners of her mouth as she locked eyes with Tang Yuxiang.

He caught the hint.

"Tang Xuewu, take your crippled husband and scram!" Tang Yuxiang roared, his face full of fury as he pointed at her. "Do you want to anger Grandpa to death?"

"Grandpa, I believe Grandma’s judgment was sound. Please forgive my willfulness," Tang Xuewu said. "In life, there are some things one must stand for. I only know that if I abandon Long today, I will regret it for the rest of my life."

Tang Xuewu handed Qin Long his crutch and supported him as they walked toward the hotel exit, her expression resolute and free of regret.

"Xuewu, I’ll make them kneel and beg you to come back," Qin Long said, tenderly embracing her.

"Kneel and beg her?"

"Qin Long, are you out of your fucking mind?" Tang Yuxiang sneered with utter disdain. "If that day ever comes, I, Tang Yuxiang, will get on my knees and call you ’Grandpa’ three times!"

Amidst the cold ridicule of the Tang family, Tang Xuewu left the hall. It was happening all over again.

Watching Tang Xuewu’s desolate retreating figure, Zhang Meilan could no longer hold back her anger. "Father," she said, "I don’t care what happens to Qin Long, but Xuewu is your granddaughter! How can you be so heartless?"

"Enough! Say no more!" Old Master Tang roared in fury.

The hall fell silent.

Fighting back the bitterness in her heart, Tang Xuewu climbed into the Aston Martin. The moment the door closed, she burst into sobs, tears streaming down her face like a flood. Last time, she was driven away over a misunderstanding about Qin Long’s medicinal wine. This time, because Qin Long had taught Tang Yuxiang a lesson, she was kicked out of the hotel and expelled from the Tang Family entirely.

Qin Long hadn’t done anything wrong, yet seeing Tang Xuewu cry her heart out, he felt a sharp pang in his chest.

"Xuewu, don’t cry. I was too reckless," Qin Long said slowly, his brows furrowed.

He was the Heavenly Dragon, a Battle Dragon of his generation. When had he ever adopted such a gentle demeanor for anyone but this girl, Tang Xuewu?

"Long, you weren’t reckless," Tang Xuewu said, looking at him. "When people insult us like that, don’t they deserve to be hit? Just drive home."

"They really will come to our door, begging," Qin Long said, looking at her with utmost sincerity.

"Just drive!" she said, a hint of anger in her voice.

Qin Long immediately drove away.

「In the hall.」

Most of the Tang family members were quite pleased, though a few shook their heads lightly. Although the family was no longer at the peak of its glory, it was not entirely without people of conscience.

"From this day forward, no one is to mention them again," Old Master Tang declared. "Otherwise, you will immediately be stripped of your inner court privileges and lose all dividends."

The old master’s words effectively silenced those who still had a conscience. It was clear he was truly enraged.

Zhang Meilan and Tang De also left with their tails between their legs.

"Grandpa, I’m sure Cousin Xuewu will come to understand your difficult decision," Tang Chuchu said with immense confidence. "With Yuxiang and me here, the Tang family will certainly reclaim its former glory.

"After we secure the deal with the Yaolong Group, we’ll go after the Jianglong Group’s contracts next!"

The people nearby immediately nodded in agreement.

"Alright, let the banquet continue," Old Master Tang said, looking at her. "Where is Manager Wu?"

Tang Chuchu checked the time on her phone and smiled. "He should be here any moment. I’ll go greet him."

Just as she reached the entrance, she saw the hotel manager approaching, followed closely by Manager Wu from the Yaolong Group, who walked in with a smile on his face.

"Manager Wu, you’ve arrived!" Old Master Tang personally came down to welcome him, his face alight with excitement.

As long as they could latch onto the Yaolong Group and secure this contract, the Tang Family would surely reclaim its former glory. This was a golden opportunity.

"Manager Wu, you’re our lucky star!" the old man boomed. "On behalf of the Tang Family, I thank the Yaolong Group for their confidence in us, and I thank you personally for your trust! I hope we can create a bright future together!"

Old Master Tang was incredibly excited, clearly placing great importance on this partnership. Although Manager Wu wasn’t as high-ranking as Zhao Ruoying, he was still a representative of the Yaolong Group. To Old Master Tang, even a dog from the Yaolong Group was to be treated with the utmost respect.

Manager Wu laughed heartily, then scanned the surroundings as if looking for someone.

"Old Master Tang, there’s no need for such formality," he said, before scanning the room a few more times. "If I may be so bold, are all the younger members of the Tang Family present?" he finally asked, a puzzled look on his face.

Old Master Tang thought the Zhao Family must have taken an interest in one of his descendants and nodded excitedly.

"That can’t be right," Manager Wu said. "Why don’t I see Qin Long and Tang Xuewu?"

His words sent a murmur of confusion through the crowd. Why was Manager Wu looking for them?

Old Master Tang was also filled with doubt, but he forced a laugh. "Manager Wu, Xuewu had some business to attend to and has already left. Signing the contract with Tang Chuchu and Tang Yuxiang here will be just the same."

However, Manager Wu’s expression shifted slightly. "I’m sorry, but if Miss Xuewu isn’t here today, the contract cannot be signed."

His words left everyone dumbfounded. What the hell did that mean?

"Manager Wu, what is the meaning of this?" Old Master Tang asked, forcing a placating smile after a moment of thought.

"Because Madame Zhao was adamant. This contract must be signed by Miss Xuewu, or the partnership is canceled."

An uproar swept through the room, which was instantly followed by a dreadful silence. It was so quiet that the ticking of the grand clock in the center of the hall was the only sound. The members of the Tang Family stood in a daze, as if struck by lightning.

"Manager Wu, could you please say that again?" Old Master Tang asked, his expression turning ugly with suspicion.

"Madame Zhao’s instructions were clear: either the contract isn’t signed at all, or it must be signed by Miss Xuewu," Manager Wu replied, his tone growing cold. "Since the Tang Family is acting in such bad faith, I’m afraid there’s nothing more to discuss."

The truth finally sank in for the Tang family members. Tang Xuewu and Qin Long were the key to this major contract, and they had just driven them out of the family.

Tang Chuchu and Tang Yuxiang began to panic. "Manager Wu, we agreed to sign today! How could you..." Tang Chuchu blurted out.

"You told us signing with us wouldn’t be a problem!" Tang Yuxiang added.

They had personally guaranteed this to their grandfather, which was the entire reason he had hosted this grand banquet at the Jiang Central Hotel. Worse, they had used the credit for securing this deal to drive Tang Xuewu and Qin Long away. If that credit was now gone, they would lose all face.

"Miss Chuchu seems to believe I am untrustworthy," Manager Wu said, his voice laced with anger. "This is a direct, unchangeable order from Madame Zhao. If you think I’m acting in bad faith, then I shall take my leave."

Fuming, he turned to leave.

"Manager Wu, wait!" Old Master Tang cried out, rushing to stop him.

The Tang Family is already so weak. This contract is the key to our revival; we absolutely cannot let it slip away.

"Old Master Tang, don’t make things difficult for me," Manager Wu said. "It’s a firm order from Madame Zhao. If I don’t see Miss Xuewu, the contract will not go to you.

"Furthermore, it seems Madame Zhao anticipated this very situation. She also said that since Miss Xuewu has been wronged, seventy percent of the profits from this deal are to go to her personally," Manager Wu explained, looking at the old master with a helpless expression.

"Manager Wu, that doesn’t seem quite proper..."
