Heaven Refining physique-Chapter 96: The Women on the Peak
Chapter 96: The Women on the Peak
"Using this treasure to grow spirit herbs is truly the most efficient method, but you can also use it in the mines to increase the production of spirit stones.
But there is a limitation to this. It cannot be used for cultivation. If anyone enters the area affected by the treasure, their perception is dulled. It’s similar to the mist outside, but in a different manner.
Second, even if the time is accelerated, it doesn’t mean you will receive ten years’ worth of spirit qi in mere seconds. After all, It did not provide you with spirit qi, and nature’s qi will enter the area in the same proportion as before.
Spirit qi is not like air; it will not always flow to fill a void as air does.
So even for these spirit herbs to grow, you have to provide enough spirit stones to the soil to maintain their growth. And believe me, it’s a lot.
Third, well, you can’t enter this field unless you have mastery over time and spatial laws. Spirit herbs and spirit stones are not affected, but living beings are."
Jiang Hao was truly stunned. It was indeed quite an otherworldly treasure. Even if there were restrictions for living beings, just the fact that one could grow any spirit herb to any grade was an astonishing notion in itself.
Of course, one had to spend a lot of spirit stones, but sometimes people had spirit stones but lacked the resources they truly desired.
"Oh, by the way, the reason I know about this treasure is because it was mine before I gave it to my friend. You know, the one from the Xuanluan Clan.
Yes, you might have guessed it—it was a byproduct of the Voidbound Circlet, called the Temporal Voidstone.
I gave her everything I had other than the Voidbound Circlet before I took the step which placed me in this current situation.
But this person here is definitely not her. If it were her, then even if she were restricted by the Heavenly Law, she would have had the strength to see through me and might have come to meet me.
Now I wonder who this person truly is. Not to mention the Temporal Voidstone, they also have the Thread of Fate, and these are all things that belonged to my friend. I just hope she hasn’t taken the same step as I did."
Jiang Hao nodded in understanding. Since it was a byproduct of a universal treasure, it was quite believable for it to be this powerful.
After all, its value might be comparable to the pill he had consumed.
"Do you know one fun fact?"
Jiang Hao became confused and asked,
"What is it, Senior?"
"See those spirit herbs and tell me what is common among them."
Jiang Hao didn’t know what she was implying but did as she said. He had never seen any of these spirit herbs.
He had refined many spirit herbs until now while staying with Senior Huan Caiyi, but he hadn’t seen any of these before. Perhaps they were all grade seven or above before being planted here.
He looked at them carefully before coming to a conclusion. It wasn’t something he had figured out just by looking—it was due to his sense of smell.
"Senior, the air smells quite pleasant here. Is it because of these spirit herbs?"
"Yes, these spirit herbs are mainly planted here to enhance the fragrance around the living area. Some of them also possess calming properties.
These spirit herbs weren’t planted here to be used as cultivation resources. Of course, they can be used, but that is not their main purpose."
Jiang Hao was once again stunned. Using spirit herbs of grade seven, eight, and perhaps even nine merely for fragrance seemed like quite a waste... He shook his head.
He truly couldn’t comprehend it from his perspective. For someone who had surpassed the boundaries of this world, perhaps these herbs amounted to little.
"Let’s go. I am really curious to know what’s happening in the upper world right now."
Jiang Hao nodded and moved to the side of the spirit field towards the peak.
He climbed and finally reached the summit. The view was breathtaking. There was a single house and a pond with a jade platform at its center. Numerous trees surrounded the area.
Just as he wondered what he should do now, the gate of the house opened, and a woman stepped out.
She wore a light purple robe adorned with laces.
Jiang Hao stood in place, unmoving, as he gazed at the woman without blinking.
The woman didn’t look at him at first but instead turned her eyes towards the sky, as if reminiscing about something.
Once she was done, she finally looked at Jiang Hao. When their eyes met, he snapped out of his daze and immediately looked away.
His inner peace was in turmoil now, but he did not wish to act suspicious, so he took a quiet breath and calmed himself.
He had always been able to control his emotions well, so he easily regained his composure and moved toward the house where she stood.
The only difference was that he wasn’t looking at her at all. If he did, the calm he had just attained might shatter.
She was breathtaking—far more beautiful than he had ever imagined. Until now, he had believed that Senior Yin Ni and Ming Yue were the epitome of beauty. But this woman surpassed even them.
However, the reason he had been stunned and lost control of his emotions wasn’t her beauty. It was something else altogether. He knew what it was but didn’t want to admit it.
He reached the house and bowed.
"Thank you for allowing me to climb, Senior."
It was true. If she had not permitted it, he would not have been able to ascend the mountain.
He waited for her response, but it didn’t come. Finally, he looked up.
Her eyes were fixed on the ring he was wearing. A moment later, her eyes widened slightly, and she bowed.
"Well... since you are able to see through this ring, you are not that bad."
Yin Ni appeared and spoke.
This was the first time Jiang Hao had seen her outside the ring. The last time, she had quietly left, so he hadn’t been able to see her.
She looked just like a normal person, even in her soul form. Even the clothes she wore appeared real.
Had he not known about her condition, he wouldn’t have believed that she was injured and merely a soul.
"So who are you, and what is your relationship with her?"
Yin Ni asked her immediately.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Senior. My name is Yao Ying. She is my aunt."
"Oh... so you are the daughter of Cai Xia? Or some other sister she had over the years?"
"My mother’s name is Cai Xia."
Yao Ying nodded.
Yin Ni looked at her for a moment and couldn’t help but exclaim.
"Your name suits you well, hehehe... Your aunt always took great pride in being the most beautiful woman in the Xuanluan Clan. I wonder how she feels now? Is she well?"
"She is, but I haven’t seen her in a long time. She said she was going in search of the Fate Whisperer and hadn’t returned before I came here."
Yin Ni grew slightly serious.
"Don’t tell me she’s seeking the same thing I once did?"
Yao Ying shook her head.
"I made her promise that she would not pursue it. Otherwise, I would follow in her path once I grew up."
Yin Ni smiled.
"That is good. Some things should never be challenged. Believe me, I have learned it the hard way.
Anyway, why are you here? And I’m not speaking of the obvious. I mean in regards to the Xuanluan Clan."
Yao Ying sighed and looked up again.
"We were attacked."
Yin Ni was a bit surprised.
"Surely, it hasn’t come to the point where you were forced to flee the clan with these treasures, has it?"
Yao Ying shook her head.
"I don’t know. Before leaving the clan, my aunt read the fate and prophesied that we would be attacked. When we heard that, we were calm, as it was expected. The reason was also clear—it was me.
But my aunt said that once the attack came, I had to leave with the Thread of Fate using random teleportation. Others were stunned but did not question her. She gave no explanation.
Before I left, she told me there was a chance I might even meet you, but she wasn’t certain.
She said once I reached another world, I should read my fate using the Thread of Fate.
That’s when I discovered why my random teleportation brought me to this lower world.
I do not know what is happening now in the Xuanluan Clan, but my aunt had said before that I shouldn’t worry. Everything will be fine."
"I see. So I guess all those bastards must have joined hands once again for this attack, huh? And what do you mean that you were the reason?"
"Senior, you already know how envious others are of us. But they always hesitated to attack because, even if they joined forces, they weren’t certain they could defeat us. That all changed when I was born."
