Heaven Refining physique-Chapter 106: Looting the Territory Lord

Huan Caiyi was aware of his movements as she was keeping her spirit sense open, so the moment she saw him move, she increased her strength to maximum. She created ten flaming spheres of immense size; they were far bigger than her, at least.

The lion squinted its eyes. The moment Jiang Hao appeared near the spirit herb, it sensed him too. It was also keeping an eye on the spirit herb—after all, it was its second life. If something happened to it, then the only option it would have was to run away from this territory.

It was already quite well-known and was recognized in other territories. If they saw it abandoning its own territory, they might not even accept it or might kill it outright for food. This wasn’t a good thing for it—it didn’t want to go to the Dark Forest for living. Resources there were bleak; it might never reach Grade 7.

But even if it could see Jiang Hao, it really couldn’t do anything. The attack Huan Caiyi used was one of her strongest attacks. If it didn’t defend itself, then it would definitely be injured terribly—it could even be killed easily after that.

It was better to take the risk of running away than dying right now. It swung its wings and created a wall of strong winds. The fire spheres reached the wall simultaneously, and each one of them detonated with a deafening sound.

The wind wall wasn’t enough to handle the pressure and dissipated, but it had taken away at least half of the original strength of the flaming spheres. The other half hit the lion, pushing it down to the ground. Its fur was burnt from the impact.

Jiang Hao didn’t pay attention to the lion and moved his hands towards the spirit herb. The moment he touched it, he felt intense danger, and it was coming from above. But since his hands were already on the herb, it didn’t matter. The spirit herb disappeared from the ground and entered his ring while he teleported back to his original location.

After attacking, Huan Caiyi, instead of following up with another attack, moved towards that location. The aftermath of ten fire spheres colliding with the wind wall hadn’t calmed yet, before both of them arrived at the location.

Jiang Hao put his hands on the shoulder of Huan Caiyi, and both of them disappeared from the mountain. When the lion saw that, it shed tears of blood inside because they had taken the spirit herb away.

It came to its senses quickly. It couldn’t wait here for the Territory Lord to come. The sound of collision between their attacks was quite loud; the spirit beasts living on the mountain must have heard it. Everyone knew that this place was where the Territory Lord’s favorite spirit herb was growing.

It was his favorite because its attribute matched with his bloodline. He was waiting for it to grow till the late stage before consuming it. But now that it was gone, it shuddered at the thought. The only thing it could do now was run, so it did so.

Jiang Hao and Huan Caiyi appeared at another mountain. It was far from the territory, as they had teleported a hundred miles away, towards the direction of the mountain where they lived.

They both activated their Nirvana Veil skill and found a good tree and waited there. It wouldn’t be long before the Territory Lord found out what had happened. If it came in their direction for search, then it would be troublesome, so hiding right now was better.

Huan Caiyi was paying attention towards the direction of the territory, so she was able to see a spirit beast coming towards them. It was the same lion which she had fought just now. She easily understood that it wasn’t chasing them but running away from the territory itself. It must be because of the spirit herb.

She couldn’t help but smile a little. Even if the ruler of the territory found out that someone had stolen its precious herb, then all the blame might fall on this lion.

"Well, looks like we don’t have to worry about being looked for by spirit beasts in this region."

"Why are you so sure, Senior?"

"That lion just passed above us. It went towards the Dark Forest, and by the looks, it was running away."

Jiang Hao immediately understood what she was implying. He shook his head while lamenting for the poor lion. It tried to defend the spirit herb and even got hurt in the process, yet it would still take all the blame.

They waited for ten minutes more when Huan Caiyi’s eyes widened. She gestured to Jiang Hao to not even move. Jiang Hao didn’t feel anything, as his instincts didn’t work on spirit sense unless it was totally directed towards him.

But given how utterly focused Huan Caiyi was, he was sure a beast far stronger than even her had passed them, and given what the situation was, it was definitely the Territory Lord.

He wondered if the lion was able to get away far enough to hide. Ten minutes might be enough for it to cover a large distance, and if it had changed direction midway, then it might be safe.

"It has gone. I just hope Zhi Hui and Ming Yue are safe."

They had already decided that this situation might arrive, so they would never stop using Nirvana’s Veil. And if Zhi Hui sensed any spirit sense of this level, she would definitely hide Ming Yue and herself perfectly.

After saying that, Huan Caiyi looked towards Jiang Hao, and seeing her smirk, he understood what she was thinking.

Jiang Hao put his hands on her shoulder, and they disappeared again and appeared on the cliff where they had seen the valley. Now that the Territory Lord had gone, would there be any better chance to hunt and loot this territory than right now? Nope, this was the best chance.

The valley seemed empty of spirit beasts. Maybe all of them went for the search or to the mountain where it had happened. Whatever the case, it was better for them.

They might not be able to hunt, but if they were able to get the abode, then it would be far more worth it.

As they were moving, they saw a humongous cave at the midpoint of the fourth mountain. He immediately put his hands on her shoulders and teleported directly to the entrance.

As expected, it really was the cave abode of the Territory Lord, but it wasn’t empty—there were two spirit beasts inside.

One was at the early stage of Grade 6, while the other was at the late stage of Grade 6.

Huan Caiyi didn’t seem bothered. She could handle them easily.

"Go in, take as much as you can. I will handle them."

Jiang Hao nodded and teleported behind these beasts.

One was a fox, and the other one was a snake. And given how mangled the fur of the fox looked, he understood that it was female and why it was inside here.

He had just teleported to the back side when Huan Caiyi attacked. He didn’t look back and ran inside.

The best part was that he didn’t need to worry about any safeguarding arrays or other traps, as spirit beasts didn’t use them.

Everything was open, but the cave was really big, so finding the best thing would take time, which they didn’t have. The Territory Lord could return anytime, so he had to move fast.

"Go to the left. After a hundred meters, you will find all the treasury."

Yin Ni said.

"Thank you, Senior."

He immediately dashed towards the left, and after a hundred meters, he really found what he was looking for. He got stunned at the collection—being a Territory Lord really seemed profitable.

The amount of spirit herbs here was unbelievable. It was more than what Huan Caiyi had, and not to mention every spirit herb here seemed to be of Grade 5 or above. Not to mention there were lots of beast cores too.

He didn’t wait to count and started filling his ring immediately. They were just placed on the ground casually.

He became speechless and couldn’t help but think—can she really not read his mind while he was not in her dimension with his consciousness? Was she lying? Forget it.

He was just about to return when he heard again,

"Go to the right side now."

He got stunned. Was there more? The cave was basically divided into two sections after the entrance.

One was at the right side, while the other was the left side.

He came to the left side after listening to Yin Ni, and now she wanted him to go towards the right side. He dashed immediately again.
