He Clings to Me Every Night-Chapter 800 - - I Want to Leave Serene City
Chapter 800 -800: I Want to Leave Serene City
Daniel Marshall’s hand trembled slightly, his pupils contracted, and his handsome face was filled with a sense of helplessness and sadness.
The aversion in Olivia Jenkins’s eyes and her rejection of him forced him to let go, so as not to further stimulate her emotions.
“Honey, I’ll give you time to cool down. In my life, there is only widowhood, not divorce. Grace Ziegler really is just my sister, I didn’t lie to you.”
As if not listening, Olivia resolutely walked away, completely ignoring Daniel.
She had forgiven him time and time again, but Daniel continued to squander her trust. She couldn’t take it anymore and was determined to end things.
As the sound of the car became more and more distant, eventually disappearing, Daniel felt as if a part of his heart had been hollowed out. The twists in his chest were quite intense, making it feel as though he couldn’t catch his breath.
Suddenly, Daniel’s phone rang again.
Daniel took it out and saw another WeChat message from Grace.
With a sigh of annoyance, he looked at the message with a cold expression on his face, yet he still went to see Grace.
Only when Grace’s ears were healed would he feel less guilty, only then would he feel he had done right by his mother.
…
Olivia had waited all day, but her period had not come.
Olivia still felt dizzy, and even had symptoms like a cold.
Some people do feel like this when they’re pregnant.
It seemed she was really pregnant, unintentionally.
The timing of this child’s arrival couldn’t be worse. Perhaps, the child shouldn’t have come at all. It was impossible for a child to exist in her world with Daniel.
With a shock, Olivia’s hands instinctively rested on her lower abdomen.
Thinking about the baby, Olivia had inexplicably complicated emotions.
Actually, she found little babies rather adorable. Surely her own child would be cute too. Would he or she be as attractive as her?
Knock knock knock—
Suddenly, a knocking sound interrupted Olivia’s thoughts. She looked towards the door, “Come in!”
Valerie Howard walked in, “Olivia, let’s have dinner together tonight.”
“No, I still have some reports to finish. Tomorrow night, Abigail is throwing a dinner party to farewell her single life. Let’s get together then.”
Valerie nodded slightly, “Alright, then I’ll leave first. Don’t work too late, go home early.”
Olivia’s face lifted in a reassuring smile, “Okay!”
After Valerie left, the smile on Olivia’s face froze, her eyes slightly drooping, her gaze somewhat empty.
Daniel sent messages on WeChat and made calls, Olivia consistently ignored them.
It had come to this point, there was nothing left to say. No matter how much one explained, it would still seem pale, reinforcing the image of unchanging stubbornness.
…
In the evening, just as Benjamin Johnson was about to leave, Jay Bennett showed up.
Jay not only brought a lot of take-out food but also a bottle of red wine.
“Benjamin, can you have dinner with me? I’m leaving Serene City tomorrow, I might never come back.”
Seeing Jay’s sincerity, he felt he should celebrate her departure. It was just a meal, and he should accompany her. Benjamin nodded and ushered Jay into the house.
Jay set up the dinner, and Benjamin poured wine into two tall glasses.
Benjamin sat down and focused his sharp gaze on Jay, “Why are you suddenly leaving? Where are you thinking of going?”
Wetting her lips before speaking, Jay said in a soft voice, “I resigned from my job, I want to go back and see my parents. I haven’t thought about where I’ll go yet, I might take a very long break.”
“Jay, what’s wrong with you?”
“I’m okay, I’m quite good! Benjamin, I toast you, thank you for taking care of me.”
