He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact-Chapter 587. Streak
[Oasis Anderson, kindly proceed to arena A6634.]
[Lucas Griffin, kindly proceed to arena A6634.]
Oasis Anderson’s figure flashed, and he appeared again in arena A6634.
The audience watched as Lucas Griffin followed.
Lucas Griffin had a determined expression on his face. He was a rank 2 beginner stage universe level Lifeform.
He could not afford to lose to this Oasis Anderson fellow.
"If I don’t get rid of him, I will definitely lose to him," Lucas Griffin, a tall Treant, thought as a glint of coldness flashed through his eyes. "That’s a risk I can’t take. What if I can secure one of the top ten spots and, because of him, I am unable to?"
He was the breadwinner of his family since his father died a couple of years ago. His family had a large debt that they owed some big shots due to some gambling issues his late father had. His sister was collateral, to be sold as a slave if he does not do something about the situation. The only way out was securing a high spot in the competition, getting adequate resources to grow strong enough to get rid of those big shots. It seemed like a far away dream, but he was clinging to hope.
There was no way he would let Oasis Anderson even be a tiny risk of taking that away from him.
As he was in thought, he landed in the arena.
Lucas Griffin was just about to act. However, something chilling occurred.
Oasis Anderson was staring at him with his hands in his pocket. However, the same could not be said for Lucas.
What everyone observing the duel saw was puzzling.
Lucas suddenly started screaming as his skin charred and turned into ashes. The last thing he saw was Oasis Anderson casually staring at him without even a care in the world.
As he was dying, he wondered why life had been so unfair to him and his family.
What would happen to them, now that he was dying?
That was the last thought he had before he died.
Kailen simply nodded at the outcome.
Kailen had simply let one of the shadow hounds use the law of lightning to attack the fellow in their veiled form. Because the shadow hounds could veil their presence and no one could see them, all the audience could see was the outcome of the shadow hound’s attack, which was Lucas turning into a charred corpse and then into ashes.
"He just stood there and watched the other guy, and this happened?"
"It wasn’t an alchemy attack either?"
"This was definitely not a spiritual attack!"
"Did you detect any law usage?"
"No. That’s what makes it more puzzling. How this guy do it? Did he just kill the guy by staring at him?"
"This Oasis Anderson guy is getting mysterious with each passing second."
"He is definitely the one who killed the fellow, but how he did it is the issue!"
Elder Lu Chinping narrowed his eyes in thought.
"This young man is not simple. He didn’t employ any underhanded methods too. Interesting. The Outer Sect might get very lively soon."
The other outer Sect elders thought the same thing.
This young man kept surprising them.
He was indeed a dark horse.
Another participant was matched with Oasis Anderson.
The fellow didn’t try any nonsense when the duel began.
He didn’t want to repeat the mistake of the previous guy.
However, halfway throughout the duel, he launched a spiritual attack towards Oasis Anderson.
But to his surprise, Oasis Anderson continued working on his product like nothing had happened.
Just when the fellow was thinking about how a rank 2 beginner stage universe level Lifeform without a spiritual power repelling artifact was immune to the spiritual attack of him, a rank 4 beginner stage universe level Lifeform, a lifeless expression appeared on his face, and he fell down, lifeless.
Oasis Anderson stopped crafting the alchemical product after he was declared the winner.
Oasis Anderson would be called again to an arena after he was matched with a different opponent.
The moment an opponent harbored any malicious intent towards him, Kailen would use spiritual power or a law attack of a shadow hound to kill them, depending on what could deal with them better. There were occasions where he used poisons if someone had a spiritual power repelling artifact, or was too powerful for him to make use of a law attack of a shadow hound to kill them. Naturally, his poisons were all transparent and gaseous, so no one saw it as a poison attack. It was deemed a mysterious attack by Oasis Anderson, and this made people more curious about his background.
Several individuals started seeking information brokers on the spot to dig up his past; they found nothing worthwhile. Just that he was a rank 7 alchemist who climbed his way to the top with sheer will and skill, and that his home world had been destroyed by vimodials, and that he was rumored to be a genius of a secret sect travelling the universe for exposure and growth.
Of course, this was all bullshit Kailen had created as a background for his false identity as Oasis Anderson several days ago, after paying someone from the Black Market to craft this identity for him.
As the duels were ongoing, several opponents, however, learnt their lessons to not mess with Oasis after several killing and winning streaks of Oasis Anderson.
Oasis Anderson didn’t care if you had the backing of some clan or big shot organisation. As long as you harbored killing intentions, which he could deduce with emotional resonance, he would kill you.
Soon, several opponents were praying they were not matched with him. It was either he killed you suddenly, or he won with his monstrous purity level.
Very soon, some noticed that there were people Oasis would kill, and there were those he didn’t kill.
It seemed this fellow mysteriously figured if someone harbored killing intent towards him, no matter how much they would try to hide it, he got rid of them the moment they entered the arena.
If the person didn’t try any nonsense or harbor any killing intent towards him, he would simply make his alchemical product with his purity level of 94 percent, win, and return to his seat.
Soon, the opponents he was matched with stopped attempting to kill him and competed with him solely with alchemical prowess, which they lost.
At the same time, several duels were happening in various arenas.
The duels went on for a whole week non stop.
At this point, Oasis had cemented his reputation as someone other competitors could not mess with.
Several opponents he had killed were all at the rank 3 or rank 4 beginner stage universe level Lifeform.
The stronger outer Sect Disciples and inner sect disciples who had plans of getting him to join them, however, felt the need to get him on their side or eliminate him if he proved unwilling.
This Oasis guy was too mysterious. They could not figure him out. And anything they could not figure out was either a threat that needed to be dealt with or an ally worth keeping.
As for Oasis, he was currently seated in the bleachers. Some fellas were even avoiding him out of fear.
Not that he cared.
Finally, after more duels, the entrance exams came to an end.
It was time for the results to be announced.
