A fleet of spaceships could be seen headed towards HQ base 323.

The spaceships were many, numbering about 200. The spaceship contained the reinforcements from HQ base 322. HQ base 322 was the nearest base to HQ base 323, the base currently under attack. Reinforcements had been sent from HQ base 322 because they would arrive quickly to HQ base 322.

" I can’t believe those fellows actually managed to destroy the teleportation gates"

The major in charge of the reinforcement mission cursed in one of the spaceships. He was pacing around the ship with a worried expression on his face.

Had it not been for the fact that the vimodial contractors had destroyed the teleportation gates of HQ base 323 to delay any possible reinforcements, they would have arrived by now.

At this moment,Kailen could be seen seated calmly in the spaceship with several other captains and their teams seated in the spaceship with him.

Expressions of fear , shock , anger, amongst others could be seen on the faces of several operatives. The scale of the invasion at HQ base 323 was massive. And being sent as reinforcements had left everyone having different feelings about this. They were operatives, but they were not robots. No one wanted to die.

But some had friends at the invaded base. Others also had personal vendetta with the enemy. Some of their loved ones had been killed on missions because of the vimodial contractors. All reasons aside, orders were orders, and they could not disobey. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Kailen’s eyes seemed to be elsewhere, as if he was looking through some sort of lens.

He had already deployed his shadow hounds to HQ base 323. But due to the large distance, they had not arrived. Even though the shadow creatures had utilized teleportation runes many times in their travel, a few days had gone by and they had yet to arrive at the base.

Kailen was nervous. Two of his friends were at this base. One was even his uncle. He really hoped nothing bad had happened to them. He had been trying to get to them, but they had not replied to his messages.

What the hell was going on? Despite the turmoil that was going on inside him, he seemed calm on the surface.

Very soon, the shadow hounds arrived.

The sight Kailen perceived sent chills running down his spine.

Without any hesitation , Kailen simply disappeared from the spaceship.

In fact , everyone, including the major in charge of the operation was too caught up in their own thoughts to even notice that someone had slipped away.

" We are almost there. Everyone prepare for landing"

The major said, his voice travelling across the fleet of ships.

" Yes sir"

Kailen had used umbral replacement.

He had appeared on the battlefield.

He scanned everywhere, eyes calm.

The first thing he did was activate his elemental mirroring and his perception.

Nothing he saw mattered to him. He didn’t care about the masses being slaughtered by vimodial contractors, the vimodial contracted beasts wreaking havoc ,the battles between the awakeners and the vimodial contractors , and even the battle between the Colonel and the vimodial contractor high in the sky.

All he cared about was locating Arnold and Lawrence.

Kailen’s eyes widened lightly all of a sudden.

His figure flickered. Using teleportation runes and invisibility runes, he evaded several threats at the ruined base now turned a battlefield and crossed several distances in but a mere moment.

It took only a few moments. Kailen finally arrived before them. Arnold and Lawrence and a few others, possibly their teammates, were in a half destroyed building .

He deactivated his invisibility rune.

Lawrence and Arnold were startled. They were in a half destroyed building at the moment.

Before they could say a word, or ask Kailen anything, Kailen held them, and used an umbral replacement to disappear. Of course , he knew their unit members were important to them. So, inasmuch as Kailen didn’t care about them, for the sake of Lawrence and Arnold, he disappeared with them.

They arrived all of a sudden in Kailen’s room at HQ base 322.

Kailen had arranged everything beforehand. He had left a shadow creature in his room at HQ base 322 so that he could use umbral replacement to bring them here when he found them at HQ base 333.

The teammates of his friends were shocked at seeing Kailen, not just because of the monsterous power he just demonstrated but because he was basically a legend ,not just in the military but across the other empires right now.

"Uncle, Arnold. Now that I don’t have to worry about you guys, I still have a mission to complete. Can’t be labeled a deserter . After all, my grand uncle is a Colonel"

Kailen sent the duo a thought transmission as he used umbral replacement to disappear again to the battlefield.

Arnold sighed with a chuckle " He didn’t even wait for us to say hello. That cocky bastard"

Lawrence added with a chuckle "Girls, if any of you are interested , I can hook you up with him"

The females of their unit blushed. But they didn’t say anything. After all, who didn’t know Kailen Darkhaven was taken? And was engaged to Arrie Hall, that monstrous healer who outshone every healer contestant in the Interempire Secondary Carrier Alliance Conference?

Kailen appeared once again on the battlefield.

Now that his friends were safe ,he could focus on the mission.

" Come out , everyone"

The moment Kailen spoke, rank 5 beginner stage galactic level shadow creatures numbering the 6000s made an appearance. After he had gotten to the rank 4 beginner stage galactic level, he had been able to create more shadow creatures ,in addition to the ones he already had.

The battlefield suddenly turned silent. The vimodial contractors were extremely shocked and terrified. What sort of reinforcements were these.

" It’s Captain Kailen Darkhaven !"

"It seems reinforcements from HQ base 322 are here!"

" Kill them fuckers!"

Morale raised high among the operatives of hq base 323 and they attacked the vimodial contractors more vigorously.

Before the beginner stage galactic level vimodial contractors had any chance to process what was happening, attacks begun.

The shadow creatures launched various affinity attacks , ranging from water, flames , poison , sound , amongst others towards those at , and below the rank 5 beginner stage galactic level.

As for those at rank 6 and rank 7 beginner stage galactic , the shadow creatures made use of runes. They were all rank 1 runesmiths after all. Also they made use of Kailen’s poisons.

Kailen himself floated on the back of Everfrost, who was launching various ice attacks towards several vimodial contractors at the moment. Ice lances fell from the sky and obliterated some enemies into nothings.

At other times too, Everfrost would use various rune attacks towards the beginner stage galactic level vimodial contractors and kill them.

Kailen himself had eyes everywhere. His shadow creatures were spread across the battlefield and he could see every happening through their eyes using tenebrous requiem.

His shadow sense, elemental mirroring and perception were also activated at the same time.

He knew where every attack , would come from, and where every vimodial contractor on the battlefield was. He smiled. This was perfect.

With his increase in rank and the improvement in the number and strength of his shadow creatures, he could have been able to give toe to toe against opponents at the rank 3 intermediate stage galactic level had he used his shadow armored form with all his shadow creatures , Asura Enlightenment physique , affinities and elemental energies.

However Kailen wanted to begin by trying out his zither weaponry arts , and his runesmithery on the battlefield first before he goes all out.
