Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 195: A step forward
The car ride was awkward, very awkward... for Sebastian.
Ava kept chirping like a bird about how she enjoyed her night and wanted to go out some other time with him.
Sebastian was still praying to the gods to make Ava shut her mouth when she suddenly turned her face to the back, smiling at Green.
"Oh, Green, I almost forgot you were here," Ava chuckled.
Green didn’t respond, she didn’t need to. For now, on the matter at hand, she didn’t have any issues with Ava.
She was just a girl who got asked out by a man she admired, so, of course, she said yes.
However, the person she had a problem with was the handsome driver. He shouldn’t have asked Ava to go with him.
How dare he? And right in front of her, too.
She didn’t like the feeling, the feeling of being a second choice. She was someone who was always in control, but Sebastian’s interference in her life was slowly chipping away at her grasp over her emotions.
She was starting to care for things she’d never considered valid in the past, things like who Sebastian chose to go out with.
"Oh, but don’t you look so sad? Did Chester dump you on the dance floor for someone with more flavour?" Ava smirked at Green, aware that Green couldn’t do anything to her in front of Sebastian.
Sebastian’s eyes found Green’s calm ones through the front mirror, a quick guilty glance before he faced the road again. They were almost there.
Ava didn’t know when to stop; she sighed loudly and giggled, "Ah, I must be so drunk, look how I’m talking to myself in the car. Green, tell me, do you think Chester really liked you, or... he just wanted to -"
"Enough, Ava," Sebastian ordered, his hands tightening around the steering wheel.
Ava pouted, "I was just joking, Sebastian. I’m sorry if I offended you." She apologized.
"It’s okay, Ava. I don’t mind your words. I’ll only hurt you if you try to hurt someone dear to me. I already told you that. Any other thing you say is forgiven. But, I’d be careful if I were you... Don’t take my words for it," Green advised, slowly turning her head to look out the window.
Ava bit her lips; she could feel the warning undertone from Green. She pretended to have a headache by placing her hand on her head, "My head hurts, Sebastian, can we hurry?" She reached over and placed her hand on his thigh.
Sebastian took his hand off the steering wheel and gently removed Ava’s hand from his lap.
"We’re here, Ms. Hamilton," He announced, halting the car in front of the hospital.
Ava frowned, "Are you not taking me -"
"Caleb already sent a nurse for you," Sebastian pointed to the window.
Before Ava could fully turn to see what Sebastian was pointing at, the car’s door was already pulled open by a nurse.
"Please, get in the wheelchair, Ms. Hamilton," The nurse spoke politely, pushing the wheelchair closer so Ava could get in.
Her plan was defeated, after all.
She had thought that Sebastian would carry her in, maybe even spend time with her. But, again, he was ditching her for that white witch.
How was she supposed to face Caleb and tell him that her ankle was perfectly fine? She had an innocent façade to maintain, she couldn’t lose it now.
"Thank you for tonight, Sebastian," Ava suddenly leaned in and kissed Sebastian’s cheek before she slid herself into the wheel.
She would wait until the car drove off and she would simply get up and go home.
Inside the car, Sebastian gulped as it was just Green and him. He navigated the car toward the packhouse in silence; he had a lot of things to say but he knew that Green wasn’t in the slightest mood to listen to him at the moment.
The car slowed in front of the packhouse before it finally came to a stop.
"Thank you," Green said and immediately got out of the car, heading inside the house.
Sebastian quickly got out as well, hurrying after her. He caught up with her and slowly walked behind her until she reached her door.
Green knew Sebastian was behind her and she had no intention of speaking to him. She simply pushed her door in and went into her room.
"Hey..." Sebastian gently held the door from closing on him.
"You’ve brought me home, Sebastian. You can leave now," Green spoke calmly, not looking at Sebastian.
Sebastian gritted his teeth and sighed. Green was being difficult, and he knew the moment was fragile; one wrong move, and he was out.
He raised his eyes to her face and suddenly felt his guilt multiply. He couldn’t tell what it was about her, but he could feel that she was silently hurting, and he couldn’t bear seeing her that way, knowing he might have something to do with it.
"Please, Princess..." he stepped closer, taking his hand through the crack of the door, gently raising it to touch Green’s face but she stepped away, leaving the door open.
Sebastian sighed.
She was really angry, but at least, leaving her door open to him meant she was ready to talk to him. It was left for him to use his opportunity wisely.
The soft sound of the door locking made the two people in the room realize that they were finally in their own space.
Green stood facing her wardrobe as she placed her hand for balance so she could take off her heels.
"Let me..." Sebastian appeared before her, slowly lowering himself in front of her. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
When he saw that Green didn’t move away, he reached forward and removed her heels one after the other. He placed the heels aside and stood, facing her.
"Why are you here, Sebastian?" Green questioned, leaning her back on her wardrobe.
Sebastian blinked, thinking deeply for an answer. Could he just say that he was here to apologize for tonight?
Green sighed, "Look, Alpha, you don’t have to stress over unimportant things; you don’t have to -"
"You’re feelings are not unimportant, Green. They matter greatly to me," Sebastian held Green’s hand, looking deep into her eyes.
Green went quiet for a while, "What do you mean? I never said anything about my feelings." She blinked up at him, not taking her hand away from him.
Sebastian took a step closer, their bodies having just a thin space between them, "You don’t have to speak about your feelings for me to feel them, Green." His voice was gentle.
Green sighed, slowly taking her hand away from his.
"You don’t owe me any explanation, Seb. You’re a grown man, an Alpha. You don’t need to report to me after every choice you’ve made," Green placed her hands on his chest to gently nudge him out of the way but Sebastian laced his fingers through hers.
"Seb? I like it when you call me that way," He whispered.
Green’s breath hitched in her throat. Maybe, it was the alcohol in her body that was making Sebastian look extremely sexy and dangerous in that moment.
She should make him leave... it wasn’t a hard task, she just needed to issue the command to his mind and he’ll be out of her room in a second.
"Go," Green said, her voice low.
Sebastian chuckled softly, "No." He wrapped his hands around her waist, covering the space between their bodies by pulling her close to himself.
He lowered his mouth to her ear and whispered into her ear, "No, Green, I won’t leave. You don’t want me to leave... You know exactly what to do to get me out of your hair, but you’re not doing it. You want me here, Green, admit it." His fingers caressed her exposed waist, his wolf resurfacing as the feel of Green’s skin sent him into a heated frenzy of lust.
Green was starting to breathe faster, but she wasn’t going to let Sebastian do whatever he wanted.
"Take your hands off of me," She said calmly.
Sebastian shook his head, "No, Green. I’m tired of letting you go. Not tonight, not until I’m satisfied with what we are and where we are." He replied firmly, staring at her lowered face.
Green knew that Sebastian meant it, there was nothing she would say that would make him leave at this point.
"What do you want?" She asked quietly.
Sebastian gently caressed her arm and up to her shoulder and neck as he slowly tilted her face up.
"I want you, Green." His voice was as steady and calm as still water.
Green froze as her eyes searched his for his usual jokes, but she found none. He looked as serious as ever.
"You can’t say that, Sebastian," Green looked away.
Sebastian calmly placed his hand on her chin and returned her face to him, "I just did, Green. And I meant it. I want you." He whispered.
