Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 138: Elena’s Presence
That bastard Elena had turned Sandra into one of her monsters.
Sandra had become a Flesh golem, holding Mary down to the ground by her shoulders.
She now saw why May was screaming; Sandra had her teeth sunk into Mary’s shoulder, biting down hard and twisting her head to make sure she got a chunk out of her.
She also understood why everyone seemed reluctant to kill her, especially Alex. He had a defeated look in his eyes, and she could understand why.
She quickly shoved everyone aside and ran to them.
As she shoved through the crowd, Audrey’s eyes locked onto Mary’s terrified face. Sandra’s teeth sunk deeper, blood spurting from the wound.
Alex’s defeated gaze met hers, filled with a mix of horror and helplessness.
Audrey tried to calm down her heart as she approached Sandra and Mary.
"Grrrr!" Sandra angrily snarled at Audrey as she noticed her approaching them.
Audrey paused, not wanting her to sense any fear or anxiety from her. It would only make her more rabid.
She gently maintained eye contact with Sandra, but she could still feel Sandra’s heartbeat, and she knew it wouldn’t be for long if she didn’t do something about it, but she feared, she did fear, for Sandra.
If she wanted to get her best friend back before the darkness completely absorbed her, she needed to take her to take her to the garden and perform the Stellaluna ritual for her, and that kind of time was exactly what she didn’t have at the moment.
But if she left her, and she succeeded in eating flesh, then, her humanity was gone, for good. Her best friend was gone...for good.
No.
It broke her heart.
She felt helpless.
Since Sandra still had a little humanity left in her, there was only one thing she could do.
She focused on her eyes and telepathically transferred all their good memories to Sandra.
It seemed to work for a moment because she slightly released her grip and jaw on Mary, and that was all she needed.
Audrey lunged forward and kicked Sandra away from Mary, standing as a shield in front of her in case she planned to attack her again.
Alex quickly ran over and lifted Mary off the ground.
Sandra was quick to stand on her feet, glaring at Audrey with her bloodshot eyes and baring her teeth at her.
Audrey wanted to get closer to her, but the loud crack sound in the sky got everyone, even Sandra, to look up and see what it was all about.
"Welcome, sister," Audrey muttered.
She knew the spell at the boundary won’t last long. It was done hastily, and now, Elena had finally managed to pull through it. This was it. The end was here.
The end of Elena.
Regal released a long and loud howl, calling out every wolf to war. He sensed the foreign and dangerous presence too, and he knew who it belonged to. He, too, wanted to end all these once and for all.
"Everyone! Head to the borders, kill whatever and whoever you see!" Audrey roared.
"Yes, Luna!" The warriors chorused.
Everyone scattered, some changed to their wolf while some maintained their human form, running with speed alongside the wolves and witches into the forests.
Some warriors and witches stayed back to protect and fight alongside their Luna.
Audrey looked in front and saw Sandra running with speed in the opposite direction, "Damn it!" She cursed.
She got carried away and didn’t realize it when Sandra took off running from her. Now, she had to chase her amidst everything that was happening around her.
"I just knew it," She muttered.
She knew that Sandra, as a monster, would be very stubborn, just like the normal Sandra, but now that she was a monster, her temperament would be monstered too.
She was about to run toward her when something drew her back. She looked behind her to find Regal biting down on her pants, his grey eyes full of concern and apology.
Audrey almost teared up seeing him like that. It was her fault. She made him believe she was still mad at him, which wasn’t the case.
She squatted in front of the midnight black wolf and kissed the nose, "We’ll be alright, Lake, I promise, we’ll talk about everything after all this is settled, okay?" She whispered, placing her head on the wolf’s larger one.
Regal gave her a positive growl and licked her face.
Audrey chuckled, "See you," She kissed his head and quickly ran off in the direction Sandra had gone.
She hadn’t even made it deep into the forest when she saw an army of Carnifexes and Fleshgolems spread across the forest.
This was no time to be calm and hide away from Carnifexes; it would be a waste of time anyway; the flesh golems would still attack her if she stayed in the place.
She was troubled; staying to fight them off would make her lose Sandra; she could still scent her, but if she wasted time, the air would be covered with the nasty scents of the dark creatures.
She closed her eyes and summoned her white light, raising her hand above her head and directing it ahead.
The dark creatures in front of her all shrieked and turned to dust. That was how she planned to escape them. She would kill as she went. Staying to fight them would slow her down, so she decided to clear her path as she went.
She could see witches and wolves from her peripheral vision fighting and killing the monsters, which was good, and gave her more time to go further.
She paused when she reached the part where the forest was divided into two paths. She got confused as she could smell Sandra’s scent on both paths.
"Come on, Sandy, don’t play games with me," She sighed, frustrated.
She looked from left to right, contemplating on which was the right side to go.
She decided to go right... as the name implies, right was always right...
But she didn’t go far when she suddenly heard the tree branch above her break from someone’s weight.
She sharply lifted her head right in time to see Sandra launching down at her with bared teeth.
"Oh!" She quickly stepped away from her but immediately jumped on top of her when she fell to the ground.
"Aacckkkkk!" Sandra snarled nastily, trying to maneuver Audrey and pin her down instead.
"Oh, come on, Sandy, I know this trick already, I’ve fought with you many times," Audrey smartly pinned her hands above her head, staring down into Sandra’s bloodshot eyes.
"Grrrrr!" Sandra suddenly freed her hand from Audrey’s grip and scratched and scratched Audrey’s cheek with her fingers.
"Ouch! Fucking bitch!" Audrey cursed and immediately slapped Sandra hard on the cheek
"Aakkkk!" Sandra shrieked angrily.
"That’s for you, monster, not my friend," She glared at Sandra below her.
"Leave me!" Sandra shrieked out in a guttural voice.
Audrey was shocked to hear her speak, even though her voice was nothing like her real voice, but the fact that she could still speak as a monster gave her hope that Sandra was trying hard to fight off the darkness, it meant she still had some consciousness left in her.
"Sandra?" She called quietly but didn’t release her.
"Let me go!" Sandra shrieked again, this time trying to sound normal and staring into Audrey’s eyes.
Audrey almost believed her act if not for the hungry look she saw in her eyes.
She sighed and shook her head.
She held Sandra’s hands above her head tightly with one of her hands, then placed the other one on her forehead. Since she still had consciousness; she would use hypnosis on her, "I don’t have much time, Sandy. My white light would kill you if I tried to purify you with it, and killing you is out of the question. I need you to be good and follow me to the garden for a swim," Audrey whispered softly and watched as Sandra struggled to maintain her monster consciousness, but it looked like she was failing because her facial muscles were relaxing and her struggling was reducing.
Audrey suddenly noticed her amulet glowing intensely and became alert. The danger was near.
’Behind you, Audrey!’ Selena screamed for the first time.
Audrey immediately dived away from Sandra and rolled away on the floor.
She quickly stood and turned to face her intruder.
She saw Sandra immediately get up and rush behind a tree, her hypnosis washing away as she broke her concentration.
She felt the air shift, the scent and depression of dark magic rising to the atmosphere.
She knew who it was, and she was ready for her.
It was about time after all.
Killing her would destroy all those dark creatures fighting her people since they performed through her living essence. When she was no more, they would automatically die with her.
’You can do this, listen to your amulet,’ Selena encouraged within her.
Audrey raised her hand and held the amulet, closing her eyes and feeling a new form of strength rushing into her from the amulet.
She sensed someone walk out from behind the tree Sandra had rushed into and slowly opened her eyes.
She wasn’t surprised when she saw who it was.
She smirked and said, "Welcome to your death, dear sister," her body seemed to glow with a hue of fire as she looked over at Elena.
