Has Big Shot Fallen in Love Today?-Chapter 831: Subtle Affection
The next morning, when Sheng Tang woke up, she found herself lying on a soft, large bed.
She was a bit puzzled.
Didn’t she sleep on the sofa last night?
She stood up and walked out, finding Gu Jiahui still asleep, curled up on the sofa.
Clearly, his long legs were not fit for such a small sofa.
Sheng Tang didn’t know what to say to him.
Honestly, she slept quite well, while he insisted on suffering, making Sheng Tang feel a bit guilty; besides, she wasn’t being fussy about sleeping separately from him.
They used to share a bed, and Sheng Tang was fine, with a dreamless sleep.
Her sleep quality is excellent; as long as the person beside her isn’t acting up noisily, she remains undisturbed, unshakeable even by thunder.
"Hey?" Sheng Tang half-crouched at the sofa side, nudging Gu Jiahui, "I’m up, you can go sleep on the big bed."
Gu Jiahui drowsily opened his eyes.
Still half-asleep, he looked a bit bewildered, with a few hints of innocence on his face, no longer displaying his usual gloom and scheming.
He mumbled, "So early?"
"We’re starting work at nine, I need to go eat and get my makeup done," Sheng Tang said.
Gu Jiahui stood up shakily, slumped onto the big bed, pulled over the covers, and continued sleeping.
After quietly washing up, Sheng Tang headed to the downstairs restaurant.
Ai’ai also arrived as she was having breakfast.
At the sight of Sheng Tang, Ai’ai immediately teased her, "Sister Tang looks radiant today."
Sheng Tang: "Would you dare say that to the boss?"
"No way, I haven’t eaten bear’s heart and leopard’s guts." Ai’ai shrank her neck.
Sheng Tang: "Then am I not your boss?"
Ai’ai stuck out her tongue, clearly not taking her words seriously, continuing to joke around with her.
As they were having breakfast, Ren Ying also joined them, casually chatting with Ai’ai and Sheng Tang.
The male lead Zhu Cheng also arrived.
The kid wasn’t as lucky as Sheng Tang; he had a fever last night, and the crew took him to a clinic to get an IV, and now his fever’s gone.
He has scenes scheduled all day today.
Ai’ai quietly informed Sheng Tang about this.
Sheng Tang went over and asked him, "Are you okay? If not, you should rest today, and I’ll talk to the director."
"I’m fine, Sister Sheng, I’ve rested," Zhu Cheng said, "The fever’s gone, just feeling a bit weak."
He was afraid to delay the schedule.
Zhu Cheng understood the director’s intention to wrap all the scenes before the New Year.
So everyone can have a peaceful New Year, then focus on post-production, aiming for release by next summer break.
The producer is in a rush, eager to see the film’s result, and stays on set every day.
This is Zhu Cheng’s first movie. Although he hasn’t officially debuted yet, he’s taken on the male lead, heaven knows the pressure he’s under, and how honored he feels.
"If it really doesn’t work out, just tell me," Sheng Tang said, "Don’t force yourself, it’s not urgent for just one day."
Zhu Cheng nodded.
Once everyone was ready, they proceeded to the filming location; the director also heard about Zhu Cheng’s fever last night and came over to show concern.
Zhu Cheng said he’s fine.
Director Chen Zhi immediately came up with a new idea, "Let’s adjust the shooting sequence. Today we’ll film the continuation of yesterday’s scene. You both got caught in the rain and caught colds. While Yan Zi is resting at home, Zhu Cheng visits him, and during their conversation, they unravel the new issue."
Sheng Tang thought this was a good idea.
Zhu Cheng himself is sick with a cold, yet he goes to see Yan Zi; the emotions conveyed here won’t be explicitly stated, leaving it to the audience to interpret.
Director Chen believes silence speaks louder than words.
"If Director Chen were to make romance dramas, they’d definitely be great, with feeling but not cliche," Sheng Tang praised.
Chen Zhi was a bit embarrassed for once.
