Chapter 40: Chapter 040 Sour Grapes

Sheng Tang didn’t know where Building 4 was.

A classmate happened to be passing by, so she called him over to ask.

The classmate pointed in a direction and smiled, "You’re Sheng Tang, right?"

"Yes, I am..."

"I’m Gu Jiahui, a senior." The boy smiled, "I’ve read your poetry and listened to your songs. You’re very talented."

Gu was a common surname, and there were several classmates in Sheng Tang’s class with the surname Gu.

Gu Jiahui had no relation to the Gu Family of Huishi.

"You’re too kind, senior," Sheng Tang said.

Gu Jiahui seemed very interested and took out his phone, "Can we exchange contact information? Let’s keep in touch. I’m in the student council’s literature department, and you’re very welcome to join."

Sheng Tang nodded, "Okay."

They exchanged contact details, and she quickly ran towards Building 4 as per his directions.

Gu Jiahui watched her back, adjusted his glasses, and the look behind the icy lenses was cold and sharp.

He turned his face, his expression completely withdrawing, and he looked gentle again.

Sheng Tang found Building 4 and discovered that it was full of conference rooms, not classrooms. She took the elevator to the sixth floor and found Room 618 at the end of the corridor.

She knocked on the door.

Lazy footsteps came from inside.

Gu Shiting walked over slowly and opened the door.

Sheng Tang found that this was a lounge, with a set of sofas and tables and chairs.

On the coffee table were several food boxes, filled with sumptuous dishes, both meat and vegetables.

By this time, Sheng Tang was so hungry that she could almost feel her stomach glued to her back. When she saw the sweet and sour ribs, her eyes gleamed.

"I’m on a diet, are those sweet and sour ribs for me?" She said as she sat down and picked up some chopsticks.

Gu Shiting nodded, "I’ve finished eating, you go ahead."

Sheng Tang picked up a piece with her chopsticks, mumbling with her mouth full, "So high in calories, I’ll get so fat..."

Two minutes later, half a box of sweet and sour ribs was gone.

Burp... So delicious!

She ate until she was half full before she had time to talk to Gu Shiting.

"Is this your lounge?" she asked.

Gu Shiting nodded.

"Luxurious." Sheng Tang said enviously, "So you don’t need to sleep on the desk at noon."

"I can let you use it," Gu Shiting said seriously.

Sheng Tang laughed, "Such generosity, senior. But there are no secrets that can’t be found out. If other classmates knew I enjoyed this privilege, they would tear me apart. Senior, you have status and position, so they wouldn’t be jealous of you, but they’d definitely be jealous of me."

Gu Shiting frowned slightly, "It doesn’t matter."

He didn’t care, and he could also help Sheng Tang enjoy all sorts of conveniences.

"I care," Sheng Tang said.

Gu Shiting immediately stopped insisting and behaved very obediently.

"How did you know I hadn’t eaten?" Sheng Tang asked again.

Gu Shiting said, "I saw you go to the office with the teacher." He paused, then asked, "What did they ask you to do?"

"Just betting with classmates, they scolded me a bit, it’s no big deal," Sheng Tang said lightly.

Gu Shiting nodded, and said to her, "Hurry up and eat, it will get cold soon."

In the corner was a guitar, which he had brought earlier. He sat on a chair and picked up the guitar, tuning a few strings.

Then, Sheng Tang heard the melody of "The Past You."

She looked at him in surprise.

Gu Shiting didn’t look up, silently playing his guitar, and sang in a low, soothing voice, "Once I dreamed of traveling the world with a sword..."

His voice was completely different from Xu Wei’s, and the tune was slower, bringing out a sense of melancholy and sorrow.

"...to see the world’s splendor."

He only remembered the first part; he wasn’t too sure about the later verses.

"Sounds good!" Sheng Tang nodded in appreciation.

Gu Shiting put down the guitar, "Not as good as you. Such a good song, it’s too much of a pity to give it to someone irrelevant."

Sheng Tang: "..."

She didn’t know why, but she sensed a hint of jealousy in his words.
