Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures-Chapter 1195: Relics and Gods
The glimmers flashing across the jade stones hinted that the original magic in the hall was still functioning.
But it had not been triggered. It didn’t seem like a defensive spell and might never have the chance to be triggered again!
Until hundreds or thousands of years later, the magic power would completely dissipate and the jade would become an ordinary decoration.
“This hall is so stunning beyond imagination,” Evan exclaimed. He lowered his head to study the patterns made by the jade stones on the ground for a while, and his eyes followed the occasional flashes of light, but he was soon lost in the mysterious magic runes and had no clue at all.
Two years ago, he had seen similar magic atop the temple of the Centaurs in the Forbidden Forest.
That was left by Gryffindor, and it could absorb the power of the stars and gather it into the Philosopher’s Stone.
At that time, Evan was amazed at the power of Gryffindor and the scale of that magic.
But now, compared to the magic formed by these jade stones in front of him, that magic array seemed too small!
Such a scale of magic was simply miraculous to the wizards of today.
From the expressions on the faces of the wizards in the hall who were here for the first time like him and were measuring and recording the magic runes on the ground, it could be seen that they seemed to be unable to believe that this was a piece of magic…
Evan took a deep breath and stopped looking at the jade stones on the ground.
He asked Rawya beside him, “Did Gringotts find anything here?”
“Not too much, at least we didn’t find the treasure the goblins were hoping for. The Hall of the Gods is the first hall upon entering the Ruins of Amun Ra. Generally, there won’t be anything of great value here,” said Rawya as she walked. “The twelve excavation teams in charge of this place have checked all the places and found no abnormal magic or hidden secret passages. Their current task is to break the curses on the door leading to the inner side of the ruins.”
Goblins had never been archaeologists; their focus was on the treasures within the ruins.
Of course, most ancient artifacts were very valuable. When Gringotts’ excavation team came across these things, they would dig them out and sell them to the Egyptian Ministry of Magic, the Muggle government or any organization or individual interested in such things.
Things like the statues of gods in the Hall of the Gods and the magic on the ground were not of much value in their eyes!
Since they were not valuable and could not be transported away, they would naturally be left for the Ministry wizards to handle…
However, as Rawya said, by visiting here, Evan had a deeper understanding of the entire Ruins of Amun Ra and the ancient Egyptian gods system.
“Although there’s no treasure here, it has a high research value. Scholars, ancient magic researchers, historians of magic and Muggle archaeologists will be interested in this place,” Rawya continued to explain. “You should know that there are two hundred twenty-one statues of deities in the entire Hall of the Gods. In addition to the important gods I told you about before, all other statues of gods are here. This is the first discovery of its kind in history…”
“Hmm!” Evan raised his head to look at the towering statues of the gods, as well as the wizards in charge of restoring them.
The temples and shrines built by Ramses II had always been famous for their grandeur and magnificence.
But the stone statues before him were completely beyond Evan’s imagination. They were so huge that his height could only reach the instep of the statues.
Correspondingly, in front of these stone statues, Evan also clearly felt the fragility and insignificance of human beings.
The walls behind the statues were painted with exquisite murals, including stories of gods, religious rituals, commemorative scenes and inscriptions describing the battles of the pharaoh’s army, and scenes of Ramses II using magic.
The ceiling, like the floor, was inlaid with jade, forming complex magical runes.
In the central front of the hall were the statues of the ancient Egyptian gods, and at the deepest part was a raised stone platform.
The wide staircase led up step by step, stone pillars stood around the stone platform, and sculptures of warriors in armor stood neatly and symmetrically beside the stone pillars.
At the center of the stone platform was the statue of Ramses II reclining, which Evan had seen at first glance. Now, being closer, he could observe this statue more clearly.
It was entirely carved from obsidian, realistically rendering the appearance and posture of Ramses II.
Evan speculated that the few accessories on the statue should be powerful magic equipment.
There were also hieroglyphs on the clothes, which should be the oldest ancient magic script currently available. There were many characters among them that Evan had seen in The Book of Abraham, but they were the parts that he had not been able to decipher yet.
Was there a connection between these identical scripts?
What did these messages left by Ramses II mean?

Could it be a powerful magic spell?
There were many questions, but probably no one could provide answers.
Deciphering the ancient magic scripts from the ancient Egyptian era had always been the most difficult part of the entire excavation work.
The once powerful civilization had disappeared, and people today had no way of knowing what the texts they had left behind represented, especially the ancient magic scripts, which were much more difficult to understand than ordinary hieroglyphs.
The same could be applied to those magic books.
Evan didn’t understand why so many people wanted to find The Golden Book of Amun Ra and The Black Book of the Dead. It was true that these two magic books were legendary magic items, and they might help spellcasters gain eternal life or summon the dead, but even if they were found, it would be useless if they didn’t recognize the ancient magic scripts on them…
Just like The Book of Abraham, as a well-known magic book of the same period, Evan still didn’t know what it was saying or how to use the magic within. He could only rely on the book’s passive effects to restrain evil gods.
Standing on the stone platform and looking back, the entire situation of the hall was fully in view.
An ancient and mysterious aura filled the Hall of the Gods, almost suffocating.
“Based on the artifacts and murals that have been discovered so far, magic historians and the goblins of Gringotts have speculated that the Hall of the Gods was a banquet hall where Ramses II entertained the gods’ priests and monks,” said Rawya.
Undoubtedly, if it was merely used to entertain priests and monks for religious celebrations, the Hall of the Gods was exceedingly large.
In his previous conversation with the Time Titan Cronos, Evan had learned much hidden history.
The era in which Ramses II lived was a time when the gods were active.
At that time, the powerful ancient sorcerers had not yet begun the slaughter of gods.
Perhaps, Ramses II was entertaining the gods here, the true deities.
Standing on the platform, Evan felt a fleeting vision of the gods gathering here.
Behind the stone platform where Ramses II was located, more than twenty wizards, under the command of five goblins, were trying to break the curses on the stone door leading to the inside of the ruins. They used the method that Evan had seen in the Great Pyramid before. The wizards would use a kind of counter-curse to gradually consume the power of various curses on the stone door.
This method was cumbersome, but in the absence of knowing exactly what curses were on the door, it was the safest way to break them.
