Harem Online: My Party Is Full of Beautiful Celebrities-Chapter 67: Deal
Is she fucking crazy?!
Martin stared at the offer in pure disbelief, his worker mindset gone in an instant. Beside him, NukEncore and Chaosgraphy were just as stunned by the size of it. Even the lucky noob could tell the item wasn’t worth even one thousand dollars.
Yet Cassandra had just offered twenty-four times that much.
For a second, he could only stare at the number. The private room felt too still, and a dry tightness settled in his throat as the offer began to feel real.
A flick of his hand opened his inventory, and Martin clicked on the weapon’s icon to pull up its description.
[A Wild Crystal Spear (Purple)]
[Type: Two-handed Spear]
[Requirement: Lv. 1]
[Damage: 18-52]
[Strength: +30]
[Agility: +58]
[Durability: 175/175]
[A roughly shaped crystal spear dropped by the Dark Blue Goblin Boss. Its long two-handed shaft and jagged blade are built for pure damage dealers who value speed, reach, and relentless offense over defense. It sacrifices raw power for faster movement, cleaner thrusting lines, and precise bursts of piercing damage. Though crude in shape, it is far beyond the standard of a normal level one weapon and rewards aggression, rhythm, and sustained pressure.]
[Active Skill: Continuous Thrust (Purple)]
[Once activated, the spear causes the wielder’s next thrusts to absorb mana directly into the blade, increasing the power of each strike. The more mana poured into each thrust, the greater the damage and piercing force.]
It isn’t even orange-grade like my warhammer. There’s absolutely no reason to offer that much for it.
His warhammer was a grade higher, with better stats and a better skill.
And Robert had practically handed it over after a conversation and a deal. Compared to that, this spear did not look like some impossible miracle. It looked like loot that could be replaced sooner or later.
Martin broke into a cold sweat. Is this a trap? Is she testing me? Or is she really that clueless about the game? My share would be six thousand dollars. That amount would cover rent, food, and give me a little breathing room. I hated how hard that number hit me. But was the spear worth that? Of course it fucking wasn’t.
After steadying himself, Martin raised his concerns. "The offer is too generous, Ms. Cassandra. I appreciate how highly you think of our party, but that’s exactly why I can’t take advantage of your generosity. This spear is definitely not worth this much money, even if it’s a one-time drop."
"I’m aware," Cassandra replied. "The spear itself has little value, but its significance does not. It is the first proper loot my guild members have secured, and that alone could push Night Espresso into its next stage. I am not paying for raw stats alone."
She said it with the same calm control someone else might use to discuss coffee or dinner reservations. Not a trace of hesitation crossed her face.
Her smile deepened by a fraction, just as controlled as the rest of her.
Martin stared at her in shock, distracted again by how absurdly beautiful she was. What unsettled him even more was how easily she said things like that, as if life-changing numbers were just another tool in her hand. Am I in some kind of simulation?
He didn’t want to argue with her. Not that he really could. If he pushed this any further, he would only start chipping away at the trust Cassandra Selfmore had placed in him and his party.
Martin turned to his teammates. "You heard her. Do you guys... mind?"
"I don’t mind," NukEncore said with a straight face. I can buy a perfume or two with my share.
Chaosgraphy nodded. "Same."
I guess I’ll put mine into a game-related savings account.
The two of them took it so casually that Martin almost laughed at the contrast.
Six thousand dollars each, and they were acting like this was just another afternoon inside the game. Meanwhile, his pulse was still beating too fast, and the relief rising in his chest embarrassed him more than he wanted to admit.
He let out a breath through his nose, straightened his back, and answered as evenly as he could. "All right. Then we have a deal."
The words left his mouth more calmly than he felt. Relief and embarrassment pressed together in his chest. Part of him still could not believe that a single drop from a goblin boss had turned into money that could actually matter in his real life.
Cassandra gave a small nod. "I’ll ask all of you for your transfer details within a day or two and send each party member’s share as soon as possible."
Just as Martin was about to take out the spear and hand it to Cassandra, she stopped him.
"I’ll need your hand, Martin," she said. "Keep the spear in your inventory for now."
Martin blinked. "Ah, understood. Right now?"
"Yes. The faster, the better," Cassandra replied.
That was it. The matter was settled so quickly that Martin barely had time to catch up with it.
Cassandra was already moving by the time he realized the moment had shifted. She turned with quiet certainty, and he found himself following after her with the spear still in his inventory and the deal still ringing in his head.
Walking beside her alone felt different. The room was behind him, his teammates were behind him, and somehow that made her presence sharper instead of easier to bear. She was so close that even his usual impulse to sneak a glance at her ass died on the spot. He did not have the courage for that right now.
She took control of the pace so naturally that all he managed was a quick goodbye to his teammates before their afternoon together came to an end anyway.
NukEncore stared after them until the two figures were already on their way toward the woods. Only then did she clutch the hem of her robe in both hands.
Her fingers twisted the fabric tighter and tighter. What annoyed her was not just that Cassandra had taken him. It was how naturally Martin went with her, as if that woman could simply reach out and pull the whole mood of the room in her direction.
She looked like she wanted to march after them and set the woods on fire out of spite.
"This woman! She is seriously getting on my nerves now!" she shouted. "And Martin turns into an idiot around her, too! It’s not as if she’s the only guild leader or CEO in the entire game!"
Chaosgraphy let out a sigh. "Put yourself in his shoes. No, actually, don’t, because you would fail instantly. Just trust me when I say he’s not about to throw away whatever he has with her. And let’s be honest, she’s a real baddie. Most men would lose their minds over her."
"Oh, please. You’re prettier than she is anyway. All we have to do is reset our character appearances, change absolutely nothing, and we would become the stars of this game. Crescendo. Hmph. I do not care."
"Oh? Do you?" Chaos smirked.
"Yes. I’m having dinner with my mom today. Back home. I’m off. Good luck with whatever you’re doing this evening," NukEncore said, then logged off without waiting for Chaos’s reply.
Chaos watched the spot where NukEncore had vanished, then let out a dry laugh and rubbed her temple.
For all the noise and jealousy, the real issue was obvious. The game had just shifted again, and all of them had felt it.
She rolled her eyes. "Eccentric diva. But yeah, I’d still rather deal with you than with my agents and directors tonight."
—
Martin followed Cassandra a step behind, like he had been assigned to her. From that position, he had the perfect view of what her presence did to the world around her.
Players glanced over, then looked again once they realized who she was. Some straightened without meaning to. Others lowered their voices as she passed, as if the sheer weight of her name demanded it.
Even the NPCs reacted. Staff members greeted her with quick respect, and more than one person stepped aside before she even reached them.
She moved through it all as if it were natural. She did not hesitate, she did not show off, and she did not waste a single motion. That calm certainty only made the effect stronger.
Martin had heard of Cassandra Selfmore and admired her from a distance. Working with her had already felt unreal enough.
Walking behind her like this made it stranger. He was not reading about her anymore or watching her from outside the frame.
He was inside her orbit now, carrying a spear she wanted badly enough to spend real money on.
The whole thing was so absurd that Martin still could not fully process it. Every few steps, the thought came back and threw him off all over again. Maybe he really was living in some kind of simulation.
He kept his eyes forward and matched her pace, but his nerves were anything but calm.
The deal, the money, her presence, and the fact that she had quietly pulled him out of the group and into something else all weighed on him at once.
"Where are we going?" he finally asked.
"To the Forest Hidden Monster Hunter Academy Headquarters," Cassandra replied matter-of-factly.
Goosebumps ran down Martin’s spine.
Seriously?!
Why would they go straight there? Martin had no clue, but he suspected it was related to the spear and its significance. He could barely wait to see the headquarters and find out what was on the table.
