Harem app-Chapter 242: To the Rescue
First-person POV - Liam
As soon as I received the news that Clara had disappeared, my heart skyrocketed. My mind started working in a frenzy, imagining all the possible ways to find her.
My first action was to talk to Lee Hua. She assured me she would do everything in her power, and within minutes, her team was fully mobilized, focused on tracking down any clue about the girl.
At the same tempo, I made my own decision: I needed to talk to Amber. After all, she had probably been the last one to see Clara. The two were always together during their nightly streams, and maybe Amber had noticed something that others had missed.
Unfortunately, the blonde didn’t know anything about Clara’s whereabouts. And upon learning that her best friend had disappeared, she began to tremble with fear.
She started to think the worst might have happened, fearing losing another person in her life. I didn’t know it, but the two had become really close.
Amber trembled in my arms. Her blue eyes were welling up, lost in a whirlwind of fear and uncertainty since Clara’s disappearance. I held her firmly, as if my strength could restore the security she so desperately needed.
"Amber... look at me."
She slowly raised her face, her body still shaking, her lips trembling. Then our eyes met. I could see reflected in those beautiful blue eyes the fear of losing someone dear.
"I’m going to find her. No matter what happens, no matter who tries to stop me... I’m going to bring Clara back," I said confidently, trying to reassure both her and myself.
A tear ran down her cheek, but for the first time since this all began, I saw a flash of hope in her eyes. "You... you promise me..."
I smiled slightly, running my hand through the golden strands of her hair. "Yes, even if I die, I’ll bring her back."
Seeing my absolute confidence, she seemed to relax a little, a soft smile forming on her face.
Then, Amber gasped, and before any words could come out, she threw herself at me. Our lips met with an almost desperate intensity.
I felt the girl’s enormous breasts press against my chest, while my hands gently wrapped around her waist.
I didn’t understand where that came from, and Amber also seemed surprised with herself. Still, we gave in to that kiss, which helped to calm our hearts.
I pulled her even closer, feeling her heart beat against mine, every second stretching into eternity.
But then...
"Liam!"
Helena’s voice cut through the moment like a blade. Amber pulled away quickly, blushing to the tips of her ears.
But I didn’t focus much on her, turning my attention to Helena, who looked like she had something important to say.
"My brother said he has a clue about Clara’s whereabouts," she began to explain quickly.
I turned to Amber. "I have to go. I promise I’ll find Clara," I explained firmly, then turned to Helena. "Take me to him."
"Yes, he’s with Lee Hua at my house."

Arriving at Helena’s house, I was surprised to see Max.
To be honest, it had been a long time since we’d spoken. He had a tired look, his hair was longer, and a messy beard had grown on his face.
"Be honest, you forgot about me, didn’t you?" Max commented with a tired tone as he adjusted his glasses.
"Well..." I wanted to deny it, but the truth was I really had forgotten completely.
"It’s okay," he commented with a sigh. "The truth is, I’ve isolated myself from everyone in recent months," he commented with a determined look.
Then he continued to explain what had happened. Several months ago, when Helena revealed everything about how she had been blackmailed with the photos, Max felt frustrated that he couldn’t do anything to help.
But, more importantly, he wanted to get revenge on the people who had done it.
Of course, I had already finished off the immediate culprit. But Max wanted to go after those behind the whole operation. He wanted to uncover the whole truth.
With that in mind, he began to investigate by himself. And he even got involved with dangerous people.
It was no wonder he had become more paranoid.
That day, when Eric sent men to try to kidnap Helena, it was this paranoia that ensured he reacted immediately.
"Thank you so much for telling me what happened that day. If it weren’t for you, I don’t know what might have happened," I thanked him honestly, noting that I hadn’t had the chance to do so yet.
"Don’t say that," Max replied with a long sigh. "I’m the one who’s grateful. If you hadn’t acted, if you hadn’t gone to save her alone, I couldn’t have done anything."
The man clenched his fists tightly. He seemed frustrated about something I didn’t quite understand.
"I can never do anything..." he murmured very quietly. "But you can."
His eyes, heavy with hatred, met mine. Then he commented in a solemn voice.
"I can’t do anything, but you can."
I didn’t quite understand where he was going with this conversation, but I listened intently.
"Apparently, Clara and I ended up on the same target in the midst of our investigations."
"Wait, you already knew her?" Helena asked, surprised.
"Yes," Max smiled softly. "I was surprised when I found out she was close to Liam..."
"And you know where she is?" I couldn’t just listen anymore, so I asked with a hint of anxiety in my voice.
"Maybe... I’ve already shown Lee Hua everything I knew. She said her people will check which is the most likely place for her to be."
"I see," I sighed solemnly.
"You’ll probably have to get involved with someone really dangerous," Max commented after a long silence.
"I know, but Clara is in danger. I can’t just stand by and watch."
"I figured you’d say that," he sighed softly. "I admire your courage." Max walked over to me and rested his hand on my shoulder. "I wouldn’t have all that courage."
He was silent for a few more moments, then asked:
"Finish them, please."
"Leave it to me," I smiled confidently.
By coincidence, it was at that exact moment that Lee Hua entered the room with hurried steps.
Her team seemed to have found solid clues, but...
