Guide To Train My Beast Husbands-Chapter 221: Caught sneaking
Ruan Chanchan glared at the old woman, and that shut up Chief Xie.
Wait a second... why am I listening to someone who doesn’t even have a beast core? Thought Chief Xie, she opened her mouth to speak, but as soon as she turned to look at Ruan Chanchan, the latter shot her another look, which made Chief Xie silent. She blinked her eyes, not understanding why she was suddenly terrified of a woman who didn’t even have a beast core.
And where did Ruan Chanchan get this terrifying aura?
It must be inherent, Chief Xie guessed, as she still remembered how strong and majestic Ruan Chanchan’s mother was when she was alive. Back then, Mother Ruan was one of the strongest totem warriors of the tribe, and if she hadn’t died then, she would have brought their tribe to new heights.
Ruan Chanchan was Mother Ruan’s daughter. A tigress would never give birth to a bitch.
There were no surprises that Ruan Chanchan shared the same majestic aura as her mother.
Ruan Chanchan had no idea that Chief Xie was wasting her final moments thinking about nothing but sheer nonsense. If she knew the truth, she would have thought that the woman was either crazy or that her priorities were never straight to begin with. Who else but a psychopath would worry about someone else instead of worrying about her own family in her final moments?
"Xiao Xi—"
"Right away, darling," the little system chimed up as soon as he heard Ruan Chanchan’s command. He first assessed the condition of the injured chief of the tribe and then relayed it to Ruan Chanchan. "She is not gravely injured. These are just surface wounds for someone like her. Though there is indeed some damage done to her as the attacker tried to steal her beast core, and their claws reached way too deep within her skin. The damage is not severe, but you need to clear up the excess blood and give her the blood rejuvenation berry. She will be fine with her healing after that."
Ruan Chanchan heaved a sigh of relief when she heard that the woman was fine. She was worried that Chief Xie’s condition was far worse than this, but it seemed like she was worried for nothing. Chief Xie was stronger than she looked.
With the diagnosis done, the first thing that Ruan Chanchan did was to fetch some bandages, antiseptic and alcohol to clean the wounds on Chief Xie’s body. First, she cleaned her wounds and then dumped the cotton balls in the corner before applying the creams to aid the healing and covered them with the bandages. Once she was done, she fetched the blood rejuvenation berry and fed it to the injured woman on the floor.
"Sleep the night away. You will feel better in the morning," Ruan Chanchan told Chief Xie.
She then turned to leave the cave.
"Chanchan, is my mother alright?" Xie Daiyu came hurrying when he saw Ruan Chanchan appearing at the mouth of the cave. He worriedly looked inside, but when he didn’t see his mother, his worries intensified.
He was worried that his mother would be affected because of her injuries.
"Your mother is fine. Her wounds look serious, but she is stronger than she looks." Ruan Chanchan knew that the mer was worried and hurriedly comforted him. "Don’t worry too much. Just leave her alone tonight, and she will get better by the morning; don’t disrupt her rest."
Xie Daiyu and the rest heaved a sigh of relief when they heard that the chief was doing better.
If something happened to the chief of their tribe, they could already imagine what might happen to them if they were to lose their chief. Not only would they lose the protection of the beast council, but their entire tribe would also be annihilated as they failed in protecting their chief.
Fortunately, the chief was fine, or else they would be in a real mess.
"Should we go and run a perimeter?" one of the tribesmen asked while looking at the horizon. "Maybe we will be able to catch the one who attacked the chief?"
"You all will be staying in the tribe tonight." Before the other totem warriors could agree with his suggestion, priestess Yuan spoke up. She turned to look at the youngsters and spoke in a commanding tone, "You all better stay within the territory line, and no one shall leave tonight. All the hunting and the rest of the activities shall be suspended, and no one is allowed to leave tonight. If you dare to step out of the tribe’s boundary tonight, I will personally oversee their punishment tonight."
When the totem warriors heard her command, their eyes flashed with a hint of rebellion, but before they could say anything, Priestess Yuan glared at the lot. She said to them, "This is my last and final warning; if you dare to cause any trouble, then I will certainly oversee your punishments."
Priestess Yuan was unusually stern, and Ruan Chanchan knew that the woman knew that the one who attacked the chief was actually a death hunter.
Ruan Chanchan turned to look at the woman whose grey eyes were unusually stern. She looked at the young totem warriors and then turned on her feet before walking away. Ruan Chanchan watched the infuriated totem warriors group curse angrily, while she herself turned to look in the direction in which Priestess Yuan had walked away. Realising that no one was paying attention to her, Ruan Chanchan thought about sneaking out to the small mountain, but just as she turned to walk away, she ended up running into Priestess Yuan.
Ruan Chanchan: "..." She turned to look behind her and then back at the woman in front of her. She did a double blink and questioned, "Priestess Yuan?"
"Where were you going, Chanchan?" asked Priestess Yuan. She was smiling, but there was something about her smile that made Ruan Chanchan stiffen.
Ruan Chanchan: "..." oops?
