"I don't want this!" Mo Qiang was sprawled on the couch of the shop, which sold wedding dresses and many other things. Her eyes lingered on the heavily adorned dress that the empress had customised just for her, and she felt her head ache with so much pain that she was about to pass out. What was going on? How come she was suddenly being pushed to become a queen out of nowhere?

"There is no point in crying anymore," Yin Fu glanced at his wife, who was crying for the nth time. He rolled his eyes and then said to her, "This is the path you chose, so of course you will have to walk on it even if you kneel."

Yin Fu was also harassed by the idea of his wife marrying the prince. He was told that their positions would not change, and the queen would only add another position in the harem, such that Fu Qi Hong would not be dominated by them or the rest of the mers Mo Qiang might take in the future.

However, he who only wished for peace and a comforting life didn't like this dream picture that the officials painted. What he wanted was a slow life that was free of schemes, but what he was getting was different from what he wanted!

Yin Fu really wanted to ask the queen whether she was handing out rewards or if she was taking revenge on their family for not doing what she asked them to do. Because this was certainly not the kind of reward that would be given to someone who had done something good.

When Mo Qiang heard Yin Fu's words, she was even more saddened. She threw her head back and cried, "You all don't love me anymore."

When the four mers heard her cries, they sighed and shook their heads. Yi Yazhu cradled his daughter and looked at his wife, who was crying like the world was coming to an end. He then turned to look at Shao Hui and asked, "Is she really against the idea of becoming a queen?"

He couldn't understand. The throne was something that the princesses fought over until their deaths, and many of the ministers tried to commit treason for it, even if it meant that they would be killed without any mercy. So why was Mo Qiang despising the throne as if it were not worthy of sitting on?

Shao Hui glanced at his sobbing wife and simply snorted. "It's nothing. She is not cut out to be the queen. She is the kind of woman who would rather be free than be restrained. Now that she has been made the queen, how is she supposed to be as free as she was when she was living as a commoner?"

That wasn't all. There were also numerous classes that Mo Qiang needed to take as she was about to become the queen. These days, she was so busy that she was spinning like a top.

Of course, she was going to cry until her tears ran dry.

Shao Huia, however, had no sympathy for his wife. Who asked her to seduce the prince? Now this was good. Not only did she get into trouble, but they were also pulled into the harem. When he thought about that place, Shao Hui could not help but shiver; he wondered if their relationship would be able to withstand the sudden changes.

Would they still remain good brothers, or would they end up scheming against one another? Shao Hui was worried, but did he have someone to share his worries with? No!

So his wife shouldn't cry. At least compared to them, her position was much better.

Xie Jie also had the same thought. Though he understood Mo Qiang's plight, he was more worried about his own situation. Compared to others, he could not even speak one single word of flattery. He wondered if he would be able to keep his wife's heart when he went to the harem.

The four mers sighed with worry while Mo Qiang stared at the ceiling.

She got to her feet and then said to her husbands, "I am going out for a walk." She needed a breather; if she continued to stay in the shop, she would be stifled to death! If she knew that this was going to happen, Mo Qiang wouldn't have revived the dying wedding dress shop. If she had known that one day she would be pushed onto the chopping board like a fish that was about to be filleted.

Yin Fu didn't stop her. He knew that his wife was not happy with the sudden changes in her life and didn't wish to cause any more incidents which would drive a wedge between them. He let her leave and then turned to the rest before they continued their discussion.

On the other hand, Mo Qiang stepped out of the boutique and looked at the sky that had turned inky black. The shimmering stars were much clearer now that the planet was slowly recovering the green essence that had been lost for ages.

With Mo Qiang's help and the Goddess of Nature's revival, things were going well. Mo Qiang sighed and looked at her left shoulder. Usually, Xiao Jiao was perched on top of her shoulder, but one day she received a message from the Goddess of Nature and left.

Ever since then, she has not returned. Even Xiao An had gone silent.

This silence made Mo Qiang worry. She wondered what was going on, but neither of the two spirits replied to her. Thus, she had no choice but to wait for their response.

Mo Qiang sighed heavily as she shook off the depressing thoughts. She then turned around to walk around the shop, hoping to see something good. However, as she walked around, she didn't run into anything but more and more walls. Mo Qiang frowned and thought that she would introduce the law of adding some plants around the city.

However, just as she was lost in her thoughts, someone reached out and caught her wrist before pulling her into the alley.

"What!?"

"Shh."

Mo Qiang raised her head and looked at the mer who had dragged her into the alley, and was speechless. Because it was none other than Fu Qi Hong. She slowly processed what happened and asked in a low voice, "Your highness, what is the meaning of this?"

Fu Qi Hong was also embarrassed. He didn't want to come to look for Mo Qiang, but when he thought about how his mother had thrown the order of their marriage and pushed the two to get married, he knew that Mo Qiang would be dissatisfied with him.

Fu Qi Hong didn't want the two of them to get on a sour note before they were even married, so he came to look for her. He wanted to explain that this marriage was not something that he pushed for. That day, when he returned victorious, he wanted to share the triumphant return with Mo Qiang, but ended up hiding when he heard that his mother had relayed such an order to Mo Qiang.

However, once he hid, he realised that he had made the wrong move. He should have told Mo Qiang that he didn't intend for such a thing to happen. But it was too late. Once the order was set out, it took a long time for things to calm down, and he didn't have any other choice but to go along with the lessons that his mother arranged for him.

He and Mo Qiang no longer had the time to meet, which allowed the matter to be dragged on until now.

Seeing that the woman was blaming him, Fu Qi Hong sighed. He said to her, "I didn't ask for this marriage."

In response to his question, Mo Qiang simply raised her brow. When Fu Qi Hong saw this, he immediately tried to convince her, "I am speaking the truth. I had no such thoughts. But my mother… she made the choice without letting me know. Please believe me."

When he was speaking, he was looking at Mo Qiang worriedly; he hoped that she would believe him. He truly had no such intentions! He wanted to take their sweet time to get to know one another and make Mo Qiang realise that he was not the arrogant and self centrered mer that others thought of him, but before he could do that—alas— his mother made the decision for him.

Mo Qiang was amused by the puppy-dog eyes with which the prince was looking at her. She curled her lips and stated, "What if I don't believe you, your highness? It's not like this will be the first time you made the decision for me, right?"

When Fu Qi Hong heard Mo Qiang's words, he turned panicked. This was what he was worried about; he knew that the woman would end up believing that he was the one behind the order.
