As she spoke she looked at Gu Mo who felt even more disgusted. The Ding family did not have any money left to buy or marry a mer. Thus, even though they despised him, they had to keep him to serve Ding Xuelan and carry on the lineage of this family.

Yu Dong on the other hand had no idea what was going on in the Ding house. After Wu Junfen and Aunt Wang found out that Ye Liu was carrying a child, they sent a lot of things including an old hen which Yu Dong used to make soup for Ye Liu.

She placed the hen in the crock pot and let it simmer for three hours.

The scent of the chicken soup spread throughout the house and the entire family had a really wonderful dinner.

In a blink of an eye, dawn arrived. Ye Liu who also woke up pushed the blanket away from his body and then walked out of his room.

"Liu, you are awake?" Shen Li, who was reading a book, raised his head and looked at Ye Liu who had stepped out of his room.

"Yes," Ye Liu stifled a yawn with the back of his hand against his mouth while looking at Shen Li. He scratched his head before saying, "I am thinking of going on a walk."

"On a walk?" Shen Li repeated, his expression seemed to be a bit wary. Ye Liu who noticed it, raised his brows and asked, "What's the matter, Brother Li?" Why was he looking at him like that? Did something happen about which he was not aware of?

Shen Li sighed before placing his book on the table. He hesitated for a second before asking Ye Liu, "Liu is it alright if you do not go outside today?" he paused before adding, "Maybe a few days?"

Ye Liu: "...."

What was this now? Was this another attempt to stop his rowdy actions? Ye Liu thought while looking at Shen Li who seemed worried and concerned.

Seeing that the mer looked genuinely worried, he frowned and asked Shen Li, "What's going on?"

There had to be some sort of trouble happening or else Shen Li wouldn't have stopped him from stepping out of the house.

Seeing that he could not hide from Ye Liu, Shen Li sighed again. He thought of the rumours that were spreading in the village and frowned before telling Ye Liu the truth.

Turns out that someone spread the rumour that Ye Liu was pregnant with Zhou Jiao Jiao's child and not Yu Dong's. The culprit behind this matter, went ahead and said that Yu Dong was absent from the village for so long, so how was it possible for Ye Liu to be pregnant with her child?

It had to be someone who had been harassing him? And who was the one who was harassing Ye Liu?

It was Zhou Jiao Jiao.

And because Ye Liu was worried that the truth would come to light, he was lying to Yu Dong and passing this child off as hers.

Once Shen Li finished speaking, Ye Liu was so angry that he was shaking with the mere thought of how someone had so easily sling mud on his reputation.

"It has to be Gu Mo! That mer has been out for my blood since the start!" Ye Liu said angrily. He knew that it was Gu Mo, it had to be him! He had not forgotten how that mer had tried to get rid of him as he wanted to marry Yu Dong.

"I also think so, but the thing here is that we have no evidence."
