Greatest Streamer System-Chapter 314 - – Manipulation is the Key
The 5th wave arrived, with the remaining teams wary of each other.
Even the OrangeSquash team made no move. They stayed on their base and only went out to kill the wave boss.
Extra points were always welcomed. And due to the fear of being eliminated quietly, no teams were willing to risk it anymore. Thanks to that, getting the wave boss' kill was pretty easy.
"Should we go and find the 5th wave boss?" Max asked as he reloaded his SMG and sat down on the edge of the wall.
The defense was a success, and the cockroaches were annihilated. The change in the terrain around them was proof of how much bullets and grenades they spent to defeat them.
"Let other teams have the 5th wave boss," Flexy answered. The orange-haired streamer picked up extra ammunition on the ground and reloaded his machine gun.
"We have enough points and are certain to advance as long as we survive the 7th wave if we based them on joint practice yesterday. Isn't that right?"
The person he asked was Lily, and she nodded. Lisa shared information with her, and they analyzed the results of the joint tournament when the others were busy.
"We will have more than 12K to 14K points if we survive the 7th wave. We can get more annihilation points, if possible, by helping the other team clear the wave. Then, we can just survive as long as we can or die to preserve our energies. As for me, I can go as long as I want because Ferin will replace me later."
"I have no problem staying." Atlas chipped in as he arrived on the wall with extra magazines from the warehouse, "I am used to gaming for 24 hours straight. Raiding in Horizon Online is harsh and requires players to stay up for long. So this is not a problem. I also drank a B-Grade nutritional supplement before." "I also have no problem playing two games." Max added with a smirk, "After all, only I drank an A-Grade nutritional supplement among us. My body is filled with energy."
"… I don't know what to say." Flexy sighed at their response, but he secretly grinned proudly. "As much as I want to say let's survive until the 10th wave, I don't want to risk our next match. We will aim to get 13K points and then retire. We need to let at least one or two teams from this match advance."
Flexy said that not because he was kind enough to allow teams from their groups to advance. No, he just wanted to add more tension, and it seemed to be fun meeting the same team again in the final. A team who knew their terror and stayed out of the fire, not bothering them.
"Fine. But let's get 14K points just to be safe. Meaning, we need to annihilate the 7th wave before playing around." Max shrugged his shoulders in response and stood up, "With that said, I am going to prepare more magazines and grenades."
"Me too," Lily added, and they jumped down the wall using the grappling gun.
In the Crimson Eden Hall, the spectators were watching another scene. Another team, GorrilaXX, has confronted the 5th wave boss. They risked it because they wanted to have the upper hand over the remaining four teams, save for OrangeSquash.
"Pros aren't afraid."
So far, they have been passive and have observed the situation carefully. However, as time passed, the leader, GoriGori, knew they wouldn't advance to the next match if they didn't at least kill one wave boss.
Currently, all points were tied. They were sitting at around a total of 5700. An extra 1000 points from killing the 5th wave boss was too enticing to pass.
"Team GorillaXX has moved! They found the fifth wave boss and began to attack them!" The caster, Paul, spoke excitedly. "Their weapons were rifles and MGs, perfect for this situation. Three players surrounded the boss."
"Look! They use a bio-chemical grenade to weaken the boss. It's now moving slowly, and they rain it down with bullets! If it continues like this, they will be able to take the second rank in this match with an extra 1000 points! Where are the other teams?! Won't they stop them?"
"OrangeSquash's team can be seen chilling in the base. It seems they already have more than 9K points, enough to advance to the next match if we look at the previous joint practice. Their strategy paid off nicely."
"It's all about endurance then. Will they survive until the 10th wave?" Jack added and the spectators screamed.
"Breeze! Breeze!"
"OrangeSquash!!"
"Kyaaaa! You can do it!"
"It seems the spectators believe so. Ah, the GorillaXX has managed to kill the 5th wave boss! They are now returning to their base with smiles blossoming on their rough faces!"
"The 6th wave will start soon. Everyone has prepared for it, especially since they don't need to go out at all. Their preparations are immaculate."
Unlike the usual match, magazines filled the top walls of the team's base. All players could focus on replenishing their supply. This would undoubtedly allow them to waste ammo and focus on annihilating the enemy.
This efficiency would definitely allow them to guard their base until the 8th wave without scrambling around and returning to the warehouse often.
"Is this what the OrangeSquash's team planned all this time?" Paul was surprised when he watched all teams' preparation for the endless 6th to 10th waves.
"It could be. They force other teams to think out of the box and survive as long as possible. It will be useless if the OrangeSquash team is the only one alive. If all teams are annihilated in the 7th wave, they will lose the extra 1000 survival points from the 8th wave."
"Terrifying. They perfectly control this match and put the other teams to where they want them to be. How can someone think of this strategy? Their leader, Flexy, might be better than other people thought. They are playing mind games!"
Inside the game, on top of the wall filled with magazines and grenades lying around, an orange-haired man spread his arms as he stood on the edge. His expression was filled with bliss.
"Ah, I can hear praises coming to me. Keep it coming. Say Flexy is the greatest mastermind in this competition!"
Seeing their leader's figure, Max and the other two could only hide their faces in shame. Flexy would definitely have a better image if only he stayed quiet.
'The second-hand embarrassment is real.' Max thought as he jumped down the hall once again so he wouldn't be seen with Flexy by the camera.
