Chapter 12: Chapter 12 – Have You Heard of Breeze? [1]

"Oh? 300 diamonds! Thank you for Maddening. As for the wall run..." Max paused for a second and looked around. He wanted to find a good wall to show how he did the wall run and finally found one.

Without wasting anything or even preparing, Max began to run toward the wall and jumped. His right foot landed on the wall first; then, he began running as if he were on the ground and jumped after approximately 10 meters.

"Hup!" He landed safely and looked at the camera with a smile. "Just like that."

— That doesn't explain anything!

— Show us how to do it... With instruction!" novelbuddy .com

"That's troubling." Max scratched his cheek as his smile turned wry. "I don't know how to explain it. It just came naturally to me."

It wasn't like he didn't want to explain it to his viewers, but he didn't know how to.

Running on the wall or moving around obstacles was a skill Max obtained after training rigorously. It was already planted in his mind, and he remembered how to do it.

Because VR used his brainwave to move his character, moving like that became easier. If this were the real world, even Max wasn't sure whether he could do a wall run like that—at least not with his current body's condition.

'I already feel a little bit tired. Did I push myself too much in the battle?' He thought as he felt his body become heavier. 'It's best to end the stream right now. It's been like... an hour? I will do the main story tomorrow.'

Deciding that it was time to stop, he bid farewell to his viewers and promised he would return for the main story tomorrow at the same time, 6 P.M.

Just as usual, because Max stopped at an exciting place, everyone complained and wanted him to continue. They wanted to see the next cutscene when he reported the mission to Hutch.

But Max, already tired, didn't hear them and planned to end the stream anyway. He was confident they would talk about this and clipped what he did.

There were many surprising elements he did, after all. The chat also reacted well. Continuing would probably be a bad idea.

"See you tomorrow! I will stream at the same time again!"

— Welp, it's frustrating, but we can't complain. He's a newbie. It's already amazing he can play and stream for so long with that kind of movement.

— See you tomorrow, Breeze!

— Rest well! We will be waiting for you!

— Make some tutorials in the future!

— See you!

Max smiled and pressed the end button.

[Stream Ended.]

The VR capsule in Max's room opened, and he climbed out. He only live-streamed for an hour, but his body was covered in sweat.

Even so, he had a satisfied smile on his face. It was mainly because of his quest's progress.

<Quest:

- Can I Eat from Donation?!

Obviously, a streamer needs money!

Let's get your first donation milestone before the end of Knight's Journey.

Progress: 5,500/50,000 Diamonds or 110/1,000 Dollars

Reward: 1x B-grade nutritional supplement.

Deadline: Fifth Livestream (1/5)

Failure to complete the Quest will result in the system being uninstalled.>

"Hyaa! I got 110$ in my second stream! I guess I am quite talented at this stuff." He squealed, pulling his collar to wipe the sweat dripping from his forehead before taking them off.

This achievement was indeed something to be happy about, especially since this was his first day of live-streaming. Not many people could get a donation on their first day.

There were many factors, such as skills and luck. Fortunately, Max had the skill and was somehow lucky by unlocking a new route. That was why his viewers soared fast.

His first stream had that much of an impact.

"But I can't stop right now. It's still 7 P.M., huh? I guess I will do some exercise to increase my stamina and durability to handle longer time in the capsule."

Taka was one of the people working on the marketing team at Biozone Entertainment, one of the three biggest game distributors in the world that recently released Knight's Journey. His black hair was swept back, and he wore his dark suit like a professional office worker.

Currently, he was in a bind.

At first, the company had estimated Knight's Journey to be a successful game that would garner attention from casual players and streamers.

It succeeded wonderfully but was still lower than the company had expected. The rating was good, and there were positive reviews.

But they found one problem. The total viewers in a streaming platform, the biggest place to promote the game, didn't even reach their minimum target.

Streaming platforms, especially the most popular one, Punch, became an important factor in marketing offline games without any esports event.

The company didn't expect the game to gain popularity, with more than 5 million viewers in peak, like the popular online game they released half a year ago called Blood Knight.

However, they were still expecting Knight's Journey to have at least 1 million peak viewers on the Punch streaming platform to further boost their sales.

And the responsibility to think about how to boost sales fell onto the marketing team. As the marketing team leader for Knight's Journey, Taka already had an idea of how to garner popularity and reach the 1 million peak viewers.

That was to create an event utilizing the Co-Op function of the game.

The event was simple. Three top Knight's Journey streamers will teach three new Knight's Journey streamers how to play and finish the game as fast as possible. In other words, it was a speedrun event.

'I've found all the veteran streamers, but no interesting new streamers exist. All of them are boring or just straight-up copying their seniors. And there is only a week left to submit the names!'

Taka obviously visited the community forum through his smartwatch to find what he was searching for. This place was the best place to find information.

And he made the correct choice.

Many new posts popped up in the forum when he opened it.

They were mostly about Breeze's livestream from earlier, a new streamer that got a new route in Knight's Journey.

That itself wasn't amazing for Taka, but he got interested in the attached clips from the livestream.

[Breeze made a crazy move.]

[Who is this Breeze? Wall run in Knight's Journey!]

[Three-sixty with an axe is possible! Someone just did it in Knight's Journey!]

Taka began to wonder what was with those people. Who was this Breeze they talked about? They had never been this excited before—not after the first week of the game release.

Because the titles sounded exaggerated, Taka decided to click and watch one of the videos.

The clip he chose was mostly about Breeze storming inside the cave alone instead of only scouting.

So far, it was normal. But the clip suddenly cut off, and another scene played.

In the video, Breeze suddenly jumped and did a crazy wall run! If that wasn't enough, he killed all barbarians easily and ended the fight with three-sixty spin with an axe, killing 4 barbarians in one swing.

When Taka saw what Breeze had done, his jaw dropped, and his hand trembled. He was certain about it. He finally found one!
