Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe-Chapter 869: Excessive
Chapter 869: Excessive
"They were his mother’s favorite."
Anna smiled, recalling the day Adam had once asked her if she knew a spell that could create a field of white daffodils.
At the time, she had said no, because she truly did not know of such a spell.
But when she returned home, she spared no effort in acquiring one. She employed her kingdom’s resources and had her court scholars tweak the existing spell model until it became exactly what Adam had described.
She planned to gift it to him the next time they met.
Her smile deepened when she wondered how Adam would react to the spell.
I hope he likes it, she thought.
Rowan’s heart was warmed. "I see... so these flowers are a tribute to his mother..."
He paused for a moment, glancing at the princess, who sat quietly looking at the white flowers and smiling, and asked, "My Lady, did you ever happen to meet Master’s parents?"
Anna slowly shook her head. She sighed softly, "By the time I met Adam, it had already been a few years since his parents passed away. He was living all on his own, barely scraping by."
Rowan hesitated for a few moments, struggling to decide whether he should press for more.
He knew that Anna was a princess of a mighty Magus kingdom in the Europa Continent. She was high and aloof, but at the same time, he also found her rather approachable.
She was far above someone like him, yet she always spoke to him without arrogance.
He figured it had something to do with Adam trusting him enough to take care of his estate and everything related to it.
Perhaps that made him worthy enough to speak to her.
Otherwise, why would a princess like her speak to a mortal like him?
At least, that’s what he told himself
In the end, his curiosity won.
"Lady Anna... would you mind telling me about Master’s childhood?"
Anna fell silent for a few moments, reminiscing about the olden days. Her eyes flickered with warmth as she gazed at the small fish swimming in the pond.
Thinking about the raven-haired youth’s antics in the past, the princess let out a light chuckle, "He was utterly mannerless and hated studying."
She paused, her expression softening. "But he cherished the people around him and deeply cared for them."
She looked thoughtful. "Though, it is true that I was the only one he really bonded with before he left for Clover Academy. Sometimes I used to worry if he would ever get along with others..."
A warm smile graced her lips.
"But seeing how things have turned out now, I can’t help but be proud."
Rowan nodded, equally touched. "He has built strong bonds with people during his time here in Ravenfell. There are also many people who look up to him and depend on him."
Suddenly, he thought of the two mischievous guests who had arrived yesterday, and chuckled, "By the way, my lady, did you know Master has taken on three students?" fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
"Oh?" Anna turned to look at him with an arched eyebrow. "So he’s taken disciples, has he?"
Rowan smiled brightly, "That is correct, my lady. All three of them are Rank 2 Magi. One of them is even following in Master’s footsteps and is a Herbalist."
He hesitated for a moment, then added, "Actually, two of them had come to the estate yesterday to get a barrel of Master’s wine. At the time, you were busy, so I didn’t dare to disturb—"
"Rowan."
Anna suddenly interrupted him, her expression gradually turning dark.
The middle-aged butler’s heart skipped a beat, and he wondered if he had said something he shouldn’t have.
"Y-yes, my lady?"
"What do you mean by ’Master’s wine’?" Anna’s eyes narrowed. "Does Adam indulge in excessive drinking?"
She paused for a moment, her eyes narrowing down to slits and a dangerous aura emanated from her.
"In my travels through Ulier, I did hear troubling... that Adam had become something of an eccentric drunkard," she added, her voice cold and sharp. "It appears that there may be some truth to those rumors."
A chill crawled down Rowan’s spine.
He suddenly forgot how to breathe.

Later that night, in an unknown location somewhere in Ravenfell, three hooded figures suddenly arrived at the end of a narrow alley.
There was no source of light around, and even Selene and Luna had hidden behind the clouds, unwilling to witness what was about to unfold.
The short and portly figure in the middle, glanced at people on either side of him and spoke in a hushed voice, "This it it. We’ll finally come face to face with the person spearheading this entire operation."
He paused for a moment, his voice turning grim. "There is no turning back now."
The one on his left, a slightly lanky fellow, nodded. "As long as I am given what is promised... I don’t care for anything else."
"That they will," the portly figure in the middle assured him. "They have enough power and inflluence to do so."
He then turned to the person on the right.
It was a tall figure with a muscular build. Seeing the person in the middle stare at him, he silently nodded.
"Very well," said the portly figure in the middle. He stepped forward, weaving a complex series of hand seals before pressing his palms against the damp wall.
With a slight rumble, the bricks seemed to come to life. They shifted and peeled away, revealing a secret pathway that descended into the shadowy depths of Ravenfell.
They glanced at each other one final time before entering the dark pathway.
After almost a ten-minute descent, they eventually arrived at the entrance of a small chamber. The portly figure took a deep breath and reached out to knock.
But somebody had already opened the door.
The hooded figure retreated his hand and entered the chamber, only to be stunned by what he saw.
There were several figures inside, obediently standing behind a hooded man sitting at a plain wooden table.
The three of them had been talking to the seated man quite frequently in recent times. Although, they still did not know of his identity.
But now... what shocked the three newcomers wasn’t his presence. Instead, it was the robed figures standing behind him.
Each one radiated a suffocating presence, undeniably powerful.
All of them...
