Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe-Chapter 789: Small Details
At an unknown location in Ravenfell, inside a dimly lit room, three hooded figures gathered.
Their faces were hidden beneath the shadows of their hood, making it difficult to ascertain their appearances.
However, two of them knew each other. While the last person was new and his identity was unknown.
So then why go so far to cover their faces? Not to mention, there were mysterious runes carved in the fabrics of their hoods.

Such a high level of caution was warranted. After all, the School of Divination specialized in seeing the unseen.
And for what these men were planning to do, they wouldn't risk being 'seen' by a Magus specializing in divination. Not when they were so close to achieving their goal.
"Well, Blackshore was a fuckin' disaster," said the new person, his tone laced with amusement.
"You find it funny, do you?" Another one spoke up, his voice cold.
The first man turned to him, gazing at him for a few moments before answering with a smile, "This is something we had to do. Otherwise, those councilors would never have left the city walls."
"And how did that work out for you?" The third person sneered. "Only one councilor perished! The weakest one, no less. And your people? Hah, all of their deaths were worse than street dogs!"
The first person did not take offence at that comment. Instead, he heaved a sigh, nodding his head ever so slightly. "Yes, an unexpected variable arose. A highly unexpected variable."
His lips curled up into a deep smile, "But that's what makes it all the more interesting. No wonder the Cult Leader has shown such interest in him."
The second and third figures looked at one another and could see the confusion in their eyes. The latter couldn't help but say, "I see why your leader would have a vested interest in him."
He paused for a moment, as if hesitant to speak the next words. "Even I have to admit… the boy is nothing short of a genius."
"Not just any genius," the first person corrected. "He's a Magus the likes of which Tron has ever seen."
"Is that the reason why you sent four Mana Vortex Magi to go after him when he was still a Mana Liquefaction Magus?" The second figure flatly asked.
The third person chimed in, his tone filled with ridicule, "Did the Cult think it couldn't take care of a single Mana Liquefaction Magus and sent four Mana Vortex Magi?"
"Malcolm Morgan was… a very cautious fellow," said the first figure. "And as you can see, his prudence was justified. But even then, he and the others weren't able to take care of the boy."
"So what now?" Asked the third figure. "We continue with the plan, yes?"
"Oh, yes, of course," the first person waved his hand nonchalantly. "Nothing has changed at all. We have enough powerful Magi in our organization. The death of a handful won't stop us from achieving our grand mission."
Once again, the second and the third figure glanced at one another. They could see the discomfort in each other's eyes.
To talk about the deaths of Mana Vortex Magus like they were the deaths of mortals made them wonder just how strong the Cult truly was!
The second figure asked solemnly, "All the renowned Magi of Ulier are gathering in the city. Just… what are you planning? Do you wish to kill them all and weaken the Empire's forces?"
The first person turned to him and gazed at him coldly. A few moments later, he revealed a polite smile, completely ignoring his question.
"How are the preparations coming along?" He asked instead.
The second figure, who had earlier asked the question, now leaned back in his chair, completely detached from the conversation.
However, he continued to coldly stare at the first person.
"The preparations are just fine," said the third figure. "No matter how much Benton increases the security, I still have my ways. Heh, I wield far more influence than her. Besides, we've been planning this for a very long time. We will not fail."
"Careful now, my friend," said the first person jokingly. "I'm sure Olin Barrett and Malcolm Morgan thought the same. Look at them now."
The third person's expression darkened. "Then what do you want me to say?" He roared. "Do you expect me to take an army of Mana Vortex Magi to take him down?! Quit passing snide remarks when it was your side who failed over and over again!"
The first person chuckled, finding the man's reaction very amusing. "I jest, my friend, I jest."
But the next moment, his eyes narrowed and his voice turned cold, "But this time, the boy won't get away. I can assure you that. Powerful Magi are crossing the Galestine Ocean as we speak. And they… are far stronger than the likes of Olin Barrett and Malcolm Morgan."
"You mean…" The third person spoke in disbelief, while the second person's eyes narrowed.
"Yes," the first person nodded, his lips curling into a smirk.
"How many of them are coming?" The second person finally spoke up after remaining silent for so long.
The first person turned to him and shook his head. "Although you are now our allies, that does not mean I'm inclined to tell you about every tiny detail of the plan, am I?"
The second person's eyes narrowed. "How do you expect us to cooperate with your people if you keep us in the dark? Do you not trust us?"
"My friend, it is not about trust," said the first figure, his tone calm and polite. "If we didn't trust you, you wouldn't be sitting here at the moment. Rest assured, you will be given critical intel at the right place, at the right time. That should be more than enough."
The third person chimed in. "What of the distribution in the aftermath?"
"Haha, rest at ease, my friend," the first person chuckled. "The Cult does not have any interest in Ravenfell."
"Good, good, very good!" The third person grinned, his eyes flashing with a greedy light.
"What of the children who participate in the tournament?" The second figure asked in a low voice.
The first person turned to him, then at the other hooded person, and spoke with a malevolent grin, "You don't have to worry about that. You may leave the small details to us."
He paused for a moment, his eyes flashing with cruelty.
"This Grand Magus Tournament will be unlike anything the continent has ever seen!"
