Modeled after the ancient elven city of Feypore, the capital of the Nightingale Kingdom, Moon City, was a magical and architectural marvel in the Southern Federation.

It was the most famous city in the Federation. The people here called it the Jewel of the South.

People from all four major races could be found here living in harmony, unlike most other cities in the Federation where there was a lot of segregation based on racial appearances.

This city was a beautiful union of man-made structures and lush vegetation that grew vibrantly in every corner.

A small group of Magi on horseback arrived at one of the two main gates of the South Ward.

Tall boundary walls guarded the city. They were thick and sturdy. The outermost wall was the shortest, and each subsequent wall increased in height.

Knights in silver armor patrolled the walls, their expression stoic and vigilant.

When one of them noticed this group of five Magi approaching the city gates on horseback, he walked up to them, gesturing them to stop.

"Halt!" He said, "State your purpose of visit."

When the silver armored guard's gaze landed on the red-haired woman on horseback, he couldn't help but be mesmerized by her appearance.

She was by far the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his entire life! In fact, she was even more beautiful than the prettiest elf he had seen.

Anna, realizing that the guard was ogling at her, frowned. Her eyes narrowed and she cast a cold gaze toward the man.

The guard's heart turned cold and he felt a chill crawl down his spine. His body involuntarily trembled and he quickly lowered his head.

As drops of sweat trickled down his forehead, he couldn't help but think in alarm, Just who!

Who are these people?! They are dangerous!

"Hoho," an old man with shoulder-length white hair and a thick beard of matching color, guided his horse to stand between Anna and the guard.

He knew the Princess very well. He was afraid she might burn the man to ashes for looking at her the wrong way.

"Young man, it is quite impolite to stare at a noble lady like that, don't you think?" Said the old man, his tone laced with slight amusement.

"F-Forgive me, my lord!" The armored guard hurriedly apologized for his mistake. "I-I did not mean to! Please, forgive me."

"Hoho, I know you did not mean to." The old man stroked his beard, his expression gentle. "Now then, we're here to meet a student of Clover Academy."

"Student of Clover Academy?" Another guard stepped forward.

By now, most of the guards at the city gate had realized that these people were all Magi. Thus, they displayed utmost caution and respect towards them.

"My Lord, are you perhaps related to this student?"

"But of course," the old man smiled.

The guards talked among one another for a few minutes before a few of them rushed inside the city.

Meanwhile, one of them came up to the old man and respectfully said, "My Lord, your group may enter the city, but on one condition. You must allow us to escort you to Clover Academy."

"Hmph!" A middle-aged man with a finely trimmed mustache and a goatee crossed his arms and spoke in displeasure, "What's with so much scrutiny for such a small city?"

"Mind your words, Daryl," said a silver-haired woman who was mounted atop a horse right beside Anna. "We're in a foreign land. Try not to be rude and incite unnecessary trouble."

"What?!" Daryl was stunned. "Are you accusing me of stirring up trouble? Me?!"

"Daryl," The old man turned around, gazing at the man with a flat expression. "Behave."

Darly turned towards the old man, thinking of retorting. But in the end, he looked away, harrumphing in annoyance. He chose to remain silent.

Although the old man might appear kind and gentle, he was, in fact, the most powerful person in the group.

A Rank 3 - Mana Vortex Magus!

The old man, Kaspar York, turned back around and spoke to the guard in a polite manner, "Young man, we agree to your terms. But first, we would like to settle down at an inn. You see, we've been traveling for a long time and require rest."

This was something Magi rarely did while conversing with mortals, considering most of them thought the latter were no different from cattle.

"My lord, there is a guest house within the Clover Academy's campus grounds. This guest house is strictly for the student's guardians, friends, or family members," said the guard.

"Oh?" Kaspar's brows arched. "And would four separate rooms be available?"

"Yes, my lord!" The guard nodded respectfully. "The guest house within the campus ground is also one of the best inns in the city since it is directly run by the academy."

"Very well, young man," Kaspar revealed a faint smile. "Lead the way."

As the group of Magi from Europa passed through the city gates, a cacophony of sounds entered their ears.

The sidewalks were full of people from different kinds of races. Besides humans, were the tall and beautiful elves, the stout and hardy dwarves, and even the small and jolly gnomes.

The four Magi were slightly taken aback by the atmosphere inside the city. Although in Europa there were several cities that allowed people of all races to reside side by side, the atmosphere couldn't compare to the one here.

"Young man, is there a festival going on?" Kaspar asked the guard who was walking beside him.

The guard showed a prideful smile. "My Lord, although there isn't any festival at the moment, the occasion isn't any less."

He turned to the group and asked excitedly, "I'm sure you must've heard of the Dark King, yes?"

"Yes, of course," Kaspar nodded, stroking his beard. "They say he's quite the prodigious young man. A talent rarely seen once in a lifetime."

His eyes narrowed ever so slightly and he couldn't help but voice out his opinion, "But I find it difficult to accept that he is only thirty-five years of age."

"But my lord, he truly is!" The guard spoke excitedly, strongly defending the Dark King.

"How are you so sure? Hmph!" Daryl glanced at him with contempt.

Throughout their journey from Behal Town, they have been hearing the name of the Dark King at every hamlet, town, or city they stopped by.

The people claimed that he commanded an army of serpents and could easily beat powerful Magi with a simple wave of his hand.

Some even outrageously claimed that he was a giant with four arms!

But what irked him was the fact that they claimed the Dark King was only thirty-five years old, yet already a Mana Vortex Magus.

This was simply too good to be true!

After all, even the most talented of Magi advanced to the Rank 2 - Mana Liquefaction Rank in their twenties and thirties.

Yet, this Dark King was already a Mana Vortex Rank at thirty-five?

That was preposterous.

"That's because the Dark King once called Moon City his home," the guard puffed out his chest and proudly claimed.

"He was a student at the Clover Academy and graduated when he was only twenty years of age. Mind you, only twenty years old! And he had already become a Rank 2 Magi by that time!"

Mana Liquesfaction Magus at the age of twenty!

The group of Magi's expression turned solemn, their eyes flickering with shock and disbelief.

The guard continued, his smile becoming even wider.

"And that's not all... the Dark King graduated from the Clover Academy fifteen years ago!"
