Grand Voyage : Surviving on a Ghost Ship-Chapter 103 - Reboard the ship
Ten minutes later, the entire pot had been devoured by the two of them.
Suna was already full, but Yang Yi was only half-satisfied, still craving more.
He drank a bottle of appetite-enhancing potion and ate two black bread loaves before finally feeling full.
After that, Yang Yi returned to the captain’s quarters, preparing to sleep and recover his condition.
From the room next door, the sound of changing clothes could be heard — it seemed like Suna was also planning to rest and regain her sanity.
Four hours later.
Yang Yi woke up to his preset alarm. (The logbook had an alarm function.)
He first checked his condition — his stats were all back up, with his stamina restored to 82 and his health to 79.
As for Suna, she was still asleep. Yang Yi peeked in to confirm.
Then he checked the chat channels and found that the weekly publication had already been released, so he went to the vending machine to get a copy.
“The Killer Hidden in the White Fog — The Ice Nest Worm”
The bolded title was placed in the most eye-catching position.
Following that was the information provider — One-Eye, along with The New World Fleet.
However, the name “One-Eye” was placed at the front and bolded, while “The New World Fleet” wasn’t, making it look like an afterthought.
Yang Yi skimmed through the content — nothing new, since he already knew everything.
The article repeatedly emphasised that these worms were attracted to high temperatures and fire, warning all players to be cautious and not let large flames bring about their doom.
He flipped through the other sections but found nothing particularly interesting, so he stopped reading.
Afterwards, he walked to the front deck, gazing at the ice below and contemplating how to escape.
Hoping for the glacier to melt on its own was impossible!
For now, he could only think of two solutions.
One was to check the black market for ship equipment capable of breaking ice and then purchase it.
The giant bobbit worm head was definitely out of the question — its mandibles could only cut and couldn’t adjust angles. He needed to swap it for a different ship module.
He searched the chat channels but found no leads, so he left a message:
"Looking to buy ship equipment capable of breaking ice. If you're selling, send me the item details. Price is negotiable!"
After sending that, he began considering the second method.
This approach was more straightforward — fire, chiseling, and bombardment. If they destroyed the glacier, they could escape.
As long as they had some room to manoeuvre, the Nightmare Star could blast a path open with its cannons.
After all, ammunition was unlimited!
However, this method was inefficient and would take a long time.
The first step of breaking free would be especially difficult — it required melting the ice around the Nightmare Star, which would likely consume a massive amount of fuel.
If possible, Yang Yi didn’t want to resort to this option.
He used Three-Eye Vision to scan the surroundings, confirming that the nearest open sea was still three nautical miles away to the southwest.
At least the glacier wasn’t expanding — that was good news.
Then he looked northeast, pushing his vision to its limit.
Most of the ice nest worms had come from that direction, so Yang Yi felt like something was over there.
But he couldn’t see that far.
At least within a ten-nautical-mile radius, there was no abnormality.
With his plan set, Yang Yi knocked on Suna’s door to wake her up.
He planned to make a trip to the Courage, recover its supplies, and dismantle the ship.
Once he left, only Suna would remain on board. Leaving her alone to sleep soundly wasn’t safe, even though the Nightmare Star could turn invisible.
After briefly explaining the plan, he began preparing for departure.
Gathering his gear and essentials, Yang Yi climbed down the ship’s side and made his way towards the Courage.
This was his second time going there. With experience, he was now familiar with the dangers along the way, making his progress much faster than before.
About half an hour later, Yang Yi arrived in front of the Courage.
Compared to before, the ship hadn't changed much — it was still covered in thick frost.
Yang Yi circled the ship once, making sure there were no Ice Nest Worms lying in ambush before climbing aboard.
This time, the deck wasn’t as icy as before.
After all, the ambient temperature was only about minus thirty degrees, and any part of the ship that had dropped below this temperature would slowly start warming back up.
【You have occupied the Courage. You may choose to dismantle the ship.】
Yang Yi was slightly surprised — the dismantling option appeared immediately.
It seemed that occupying a ship for the second time didn’t require waiting ten minutes, unless another player had boarded it in between.
He first cleaned the deck and retrieved a few darts that had been left behind.
He had been thinking about those darts — they weren’t cheap, after all.
Then, he extinguished his torch and, with a gun in one hand and a dart in the other, cautiously headed toward the cabin, moving at a slow pace.
This time, there was no hissing sound.
He paused for a moment, observing carefully. Only after confirming that nothing was amiss did he step inside.
Inside, the lighting was much dimmer, and a staircase slanted downwards, leading directly to the ship’s bottom deck.
Yang Yi followed the steps down, but halfway through, he started coughing violently.
A pungent, burnt stench filled the cabin, as if a fire had just been extinguished, leaving behind a lingering scorched smell.
The temperature inside was also more than ten degrees higher than outside. Everything was pitch black, with no traces of frost — a strange sight.

Yang Yi ran a hand along the wooden railing and found it covered in black carbon dust, as if it had been baked at high temperatures and partially carbonised.
Narrowing his eyes, he heightened his vigilance, slowed his steps, and carefully scanned his surroundings.
But he found nothing unusual — no hostile creatures suddenly leaping out at him.
He stopped in front of several wooden barrels, noticing that the burnt stench was strongest around them, yet these barrels showed no signs of charring.
One of the barrels was even open.
Yang Yi turned sideways and peeked inside — it contained a liquid that emitted a strong burnt smell.
"This liquid isn’t frozen, even in minus twenty degrees..."
Curious, he grabbed a long-handled wooden ladle from the barrel and scooped some out.
The ladle was the kind often used for scooping liquor, with a cup-like end, likely handmade.
As soon as he scooped some up, amidst the burnt smell, he caught a faint whiff of alcohol.
There was no doubt — it was a special type of alcohol that gave off both a burnt odour and a boozy aroma.
As soon as he retrieved it, the system provided information about it.
【Name: Scorched Liquor】
【Type: Consumable / Alcohol】【Quality: Premium】【Description: A unique fire-worshipper’s spirit. Drinking it grants the sensation of burning and temporarily protects against extreme cold. However, excessive consumption may cause alcohol poisoning — or even burns. This is a flammable substance.】
"The sensation of burning...and it can even cause burns?" Yang Yi was taken aback.
He tested the temperature of the liquor — it was very cold, nothing unusual, just unable to freeze.
Still, its effect was valuable. Drinking it could ward off the extreme cold, making it incredibly useful in polar regions — definitely something worth collecting!
There were two and a half barrels in total, with each barrel holding about 200 litres. He could store them in his Greedy Stomach.
But before doing so, he had to make sure the Greedy Stomach wouldn’t secretly drink it!
So, he scooped up a ladleful and fed it into the Greedy Stomach as a test. Fortunately, it didn’t drink alcohol.
Perfect!
500 litres of Scorched Liquor — a total of three wooden barrels — were all stuffed into the Greedy Stomach.
