Chapter 73: The Name That Shook the Eastern Wasteland

The Name That Shook the Eastern Wasteland

He studied Harry’s face carefully.

"We are in Ashford City. With your father, Harrier Taylor, backing you... could he truly kill you here?"

The question lingered in the air like incense smoke.

Even Rias tilted her head slightly, crimson hair cascading over her shoulder, curiosity flickering in her large red eyes.

Selena’s gaze shifted as well—quiet, sharp, observant.

The atmosphere had changed.

The earlier hostility had dissolved into something subtler.

Interest.

Harry exhaled slowly.

He didn’t boast.

He didn’t dramatize.

He simply said quietly,

"Senior Walton... is the person I’m talking about very powerful?"

His voice carried something new.

Not fear alone.

Reverence.

Cavir Walton’s brow lifted slightly.

"Powerful?"

Harry let out a dry laugh.

"It’s more than amazing. It’s insane."

He rubbed the back of his neck, recalling the scene.

"You know the two five-star King Realm experts from the Lavahound household, right?"

Cavir Walton nodded faintly. Of course he knew them. He had crossed paths with them before.

"That guy," Harry continued, swallowing unconsciously, "just lightly waved his sword... and almost took both their lives."

The memory made his fingers twitch.

"Oh my god," he muttered under his breath, "I’ve never seen someone that fierce in my life."

The room grew quiet.

Rias’s playful expression faded slightly.

Selena’s breathing slowed.

Cavir Walton’s eyes sharpened.

"Oh?" he murmured. "Now that you mention it... I’m suddenly intrigued."

He knew those two old Lavahound experts very well.

Their strength wasn’t shallow.

For someone to seriously injure both with a single strike...

When did such a figure appear in the Eastern Wasteland?

And he hadn’t received any intelligence?

Interesting.

Very interesting.

"Mm," Cavir Walton said calmly, though his interest had clearly risen. "Young Master Taylor, what is the name of this great person? Which immortal mountain does he cultivate upon?"

Harry answered without hesitation.

"Celestis Academy. Amethyst Summit Division’s master... Leon."

"Celestis Academy... Amethyst Summit Division!"

Cavir Walton repeated the words slowly.

Something stirred in his memory.

An old figure.

Transcendent. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Alone, he had once suppressed the immortal sects and Powerful Sects of the Eastern Wasteland.

A legend beneath the Martial Sovereign Realm.

Zeon.

Could this Leon... be Zeon’s student?

"So," Cavir Walton murmured, eyes narrowing slightly, "he’s Zeon’s disciple. No wonder..."

Zeon had once presided over Amethyst Summit Division.

If Leon inherited even a fraction of that legacy...

It made sense.

Cavir Walton’s gaze shifted toward Selena and Rias.

He observed carefully.

With a single glance—

He felt it.

A chill.

A heat.

"Hiss..."

He drew in a soft breath.

"Two innate divine bones?"

His composure cracked for the first time.

Selena stood calm and poised, her silver-white hair falling like frost. Beneath her serene exterior, the aura of Divine Ice Bones flowed faintly—pure, cold, noble.

Rias stood beside her in layered crimson silk, heat coiling subtly beneath her skin. The aura of a divine fire bone pulsed within her like suppressed hellflame.

Ice.

Fire.

Opposing attributes.

Both extraordinarily high grade.

Selena had already reached one-star Astral Realm.

Rias, though only two-star Onyx Realm, radiated a terrifying latent inferno.

These two prodigies...

Were Leon’s students?

"Unbelievable," Cavir Walton muttered softly. "I can’t believe someone like that exists."

The corner of his mouth lifted faintly.

"The Zain household truly didn’t expect this."

His gaze returned to Harry.

Understanding dawned.

So this was why the Taylor household’s young master was willing to offend Vita Zain.

Not romance.

Strategy.

Survival.

A wise choice.

Very wise.

Harry, unaware of Walton’s deeper thoughts, turned back toward Selena and Rias.

"Well, Fairy?" he asked sincerely. "Would you be willing to stay at my household for a few days?"

He took a breath.

"Don’t worry. I, Harry Taylor, will never offend you. Earlier... I was ignorant. I offended your Teacher."

He lowered his head slightly.

"Now, I only wish to atone for my mistakes and pray for his forgiveness."

His voice was honest.

"As long as you follow me back, Vita Zain absolutely won’t dare do anything to you."

Selena hesitated.

Her blue eyes flickered with thought.

She didn’t want to escalate matters.

Behind Vita stood Sky Breaker Acedmy.

If this spiraled into sect conflict...

It might trouble her Teacher.

She would never forgive herself for that.

"Senior Sister," Rias chimed in gently, her voice light yet steady. "I think we can stay for two days."

She glanced toward the horizon beyond the restaurant windows.

"Teacher went into the depths of the uninhabited region yesterday. We don’t know when he’ll return. Instead of wandering around, we might as well wait here."

She wasn’t worried about the Zain household.

But unnecessary trouble was best avoided.

And her own identity...

Best left hidden.

Selena fell silent.

Her heart tightened slightly.

The uninhabited region.

The beast riot.

The strange dark aura seeping from the beasts they had slain days ago.

It had felt wrong.

Corrupted.

She clenched her sleeve faintly.

Why did I ask Teacher to investigate that?

If not for her request, he wouldn’t have ventured deeper.

He possessed sage-level strength...

But what if he encountered sage-tier ferocious beasts?

Her chest tightened.

I can only pray you’re safe.

After a long breath, she nodded.

"Alright. That’s fine too. We’ll do as you say."

Rias smiled gently.

"Then we’ll have to trouble Young Master Taylor."

Harry waved his hand quickly.

"Hehe, not at all! It’s nothing much. As long as Fairy doesn’t mind."

His tone lightened, but his eyes remained alert.

"We should leave quickly. We must guard against Vita Zain returning for revenge. That man holds grudges deeply."

He turned decisively.

"Let’s go."

Without further delay, Harry stepped toward the stairs first, leading the way down.

Outside, the wind shifted faintly.

As if carrying the scent of gathering storms.
