Godly Revival System: I Buy My Killer's Stats-Chapter 351: The Face Behind the Mask
Chapter 351: The Face Behind the Mask
From the beginning, Ethan was wearing a mask to cover his face. So, obviously, Supervisor Konner was curious about the face behind the mask.
With his Nascent Soul Realm Cultivation, Supervisor Konner could see through the ordinary item; however, to his surprise, he was still unable to see Ethan’s face through the ordinary mask.
In the end, he decided to use a special item to make Ethan remove his mask.
"Brightstar Fruit? What is it?"
It was Ethan’s first time hearing it. So, he asked about it and at the same time, he thought, ’If it is a useful fruit, I don’t mind revealing my face...hehe.’
Ethan chuckled in his heart, thinking about something.
"Brightstar Fruit is a gradeless fruit, and in fact, it is considered a Heavenly Fruit."
Seeing that Ethan was asking about the Brightstar Fruit, Supervisor Konner knew that he had got Ethan’s attention.
So, he started explaining the effects of the fruit, "When a cultivator consumes it, one of his Cultivation Talents will be evolved."
"It will evolve my Cultivation Talent?"
Ethan’s eyes lit up.
"If my guess is right, you have a Cultivation Talent related to the Spirit Plants, right? It will further upgrade that talent and make it even stronger."
Supervisor Konner nodded his head as he asked, "What do you say? Are you going to reveal your face now?"
"Sure."
Ethan didn’t think much as he instantly agreed.
"Here, you go."
First, it was Supervisor Konner who gave the jade box in which there was a blue-coloured star-shaped fruit.
Ethan took the jade box and stored it away before removing his mask.
"T-this....."
For a second, Supervisor Konner was shocked to see Ethan’s face and bitterly smiled, ’Looks like I have given away the Brightstar Fruit for free.’
The reason for his bitter smile was that Ethan’s face was marred by a deep, ugly burn scar that stretched from his temple to the edge of his jaw.
The skin was puckered and rough, completely distorting his original features.
In short, Ethan had no facial features as they were all burned by some fire. So, Supervisor Konner felt like he had given away the Brightstar Fruit for free.
"If you have seen enough, can I put my mask back now?"
With a smile...which looked eerie, Ethan asked before putting the mask on his face.
’It’s a good thing that I burnt my face after reviving in the Hidden Cave.’
That’s right!
It was Ethan’s own doing before entering Skycloud City.
If it were just entering Skycloud City, Ethan would not have resorted to his painful but extremely useful method to hide his identity, but he was planning to participate in the Annual Auction and even win some Heavenly Artifacts from it.
It would definitely attract the attention of everyone, including the Starlight Merchant Union.
Since the Starlight Merchant Union was as mysterious as the [Eternal Shadow Guild], Ethan felt they might have methods to see through his face mask.
So, he burnt his face beyond recognition before entering the Skycloud City.
Now, thanks to this, his identity still remains mysterious to others, and he even gets a Brightstar Fruit.
"I will go now."
Soon after, Ethan left the Heavenly Cabin, and along the hallway, Ethan met someone unexpected.
"You must be Ethan. I am Jarth, and everyone calls me Grandmaster Jarth."
It was an old man in luxurious robes as he introduced himself to Ethan.
’I was expecting to meet the disciples of the Three Sects, but I didn’t expect to meet the Nascent Soul Realm Loose Cultivator, Grandmaster Jarth.’
Ethan kept his thoughts aside before greeting, "So, it is Grandmaster Jarth, I have heard a lot of things about you, Senior."
Although he barely knew a couple of things about Jarth, Ethan casually said those words.
"I hope everything you heard about me is good."
Jarth didn’t have an overbearing aura that most loose cultivators have; instead, he had a warm smile on his face, making him look like a kind grandpa.
"I will not beat around the bush and come straight to the point. I was in awe after watching your finishing blow to Petrik, turning him into ashes."
Soon, Jarth started speaking with a leisurely tone, "You might not know this, but I’ve roamed through dozens of provinces and met thousands of cultivators over the years... yet very few have impressed me the way you did today."
He looked Ethan up and down as his eyes gleamed with admiration towards Ethan.
"To think a young man—no, a young loose cultivator like you, without any backing, could reach the peak of the Golden Core Realm on your own... It’s nothing short of extraordinary."
If it was others, they would have been over the moon with such praises; however, Ethan didn’t respond much. He just smiled politely, not taking the praise to heart.
In his previous life, he took all those bullshit praises to the heart and head before ending up as everyone’s slave in the office and of course, he was not going to repeat the same mistake in this life.
On the other hand, Jarth, however, wasn’t finished and continued.
"I can tell... it won’t be long before you step into the Nascent Soul Realm, and when you do, you’ll stand shoulder to shoulder with the true giants of this continent."
His tone wasn’t flattering—just factual. freewebnoveℓ.com
’Swiish’
There was a brief pause before Jarth gently pulled out a slender crystal bottle, which was filled with a clear and shimmering liquid that radiated vitality.
"As a token of respect—and our first meeting—I want to give you this."
He handed over the bottle to Ethan.
"Heavenly Dew,"
Under Ethan’s surprised look, Jarth continued to explain, "It’s not easy to come by, even for me. Just a few drops can accelerate the growth of any high-level Spirit Plant and increase the chances of producing a perfect quality harvest."
"Really?"
Ethan wanted to give it back; however, after hearing those effects, he felt it was too good an item to decline the gift.
"Thank you, Grandmaster Jarth."
Ethan thanked Jarth sincerely from the bottom of his heart and wanted to give something back as a return gift.
"Don’t mention it," Jarth waved his hand casually.
"Talents like you are rare... and this world? It needs people like you to survive what’s coming."
Ethan’s eyes narrowed slightly at those final words; however, before he could ask, Jarth hurriedly said, "Right! It’s been a while since I left my Spirit Garden. I should go now before they wither."
As soon as he said that, Grandmaster Jarth hurriedly left.
’T-this...’
Ethan frowned as he felt something was off; however, he was unable to tell what it was exactly.
"For safety, let’s appraise this Heavenly Dew before returning to the Sky Pagoda."
To free himself from the bad feeling he was getting the moment he received the Heavenly Dew, Ethan decided to evaluate it from a professional appraiser in the store.
"Sir, there is no problem with it. It is a Heavenly Dew. If you are willing to sell, our store will buy it for 100 Million Low-level Spirit Stones."
Once the appraisal was done, the appraiser said the product was good and he was even willing to buy it from him.
’Sell’
Although the Heavenly Dew was valuable, Ethan decided to sell it since the offered price was good.
Soon, taking 100 million spirit stones, Ethan returned to Sky Pagoda and rented the same room from before, Room 316.
.....
’Hehe...just because you sold it, do you think you can escape from me?’
From the distance, Grandmaster Jarth looked at the Sky Pagoda and eerily chuckled and muttered, ’Now, all I have to do is patiently wait for the right time.’
