God of Technology: Creating the Internet in Another World-Chapter 326: Seems Easier Than Expected
"It really does look just like one. If it didn’t lack the divine energy signature of our Church of Technology clerics, I might’ve actually been fooled."
Lava General examined it very carefully, his eyes full of amazement.
Even though he’d been prepared from the start, he never imagined it would be like this.
No wonder the god said that in the world on the other side, everyone lived in despair.
Imagine if someone beside you suddenly disappeared and got replaced by a monster like this that could harm you at any moment—forget ordinary people, even legendary-level powerhouses would get the chills!
It was an instinctive kind of torment.
Because nobody knew whether the person next to them was actually a person or a monster.
If the numbers were small, those in power might be able to keep it under wraps. But what if there were a lot of them?
That fear would sweep through everyone’s hearts!
For a brief moment, he even wondered if maybe the world on the other side actually had an incredibly powerful deity—a god who fed on pain or some other negative emotion...
"General, no wonder the people of the Tulip Kingdom call them Nightmares. If you’re not prepared, they could slip right into a crowd of ordinary people, just like a nightmare."
A Church of Technology battle cleric standing beside Lava General watched the scene with great interest. "Should we just hit it with overwhelming firepower, or send someone up to test it out?"
The speaker was currently the strongest among the Church of Technology battle clerics aside from Lava General himself. He was just one step away from being a legendary-level powerhouse—basically invincible among high-tier magicians. Since becoming a Church of Technology battle cleric, he’d also shown incredible talent, and had now reached Sequence Five.
With both factors combined, plus the War Soldier exoskeleton, he could basically go toe-to-toe with an average legendary figure. And if you let him lead a magic-tech force equipped with magic-powered super cannons and magic power railguns, the destruction he could cause might even rival that of a top-tier legendary magician.
His divine authority gave him near-peak mastery of all kinds of magic-tech weapons.
Lava General was completely grooming him as his successor, or rather, as the second archbishop of the Church of Technology battle cleric system.
The number of Church of Technology battle clerics would definitely keep growing in the future. Lava General knew his abilities were limited—he couldn’t manage all the clerics, and he definitely couldn’t fight on multiple fronts at once.
Like right now, for example. Foster Iron Mine needed him. The Tulip Kingdom needed him. What if, at this very moment, the ice spirits across from the watch wall made their move?
He’d definitely be stretched too thin.
Outside help was limited.
Training a second-in-command was crucial.
"The energy flowing through it should be what the people of the Tulip Kingdom call source energy. I can’t determine its exact strength. If you want to test it, go ahead. I’ll watch from the side and make sure it doesn’t leave the Sky Colosseum."
Lava General’s voice was calm. "But you know the risks involved. Whatever happens is on you."
"Of course."
The other man nodded without hesitation. But before leaving, he added one more thing. "General, I know that using our war weapons, we could reduce it to ashes in an instant. But if we do that, we’ll never know what kind of energy or power they actually wield. For the large-scale war that might break out in the future, that’s a fatal weakness."
"Also, I don’t entirely trust what the Tulip Kingdom people say, because they’ve practiced source energy cultivation."
Source energy—the special energy from the world on the other side.
Similar to magic power in this world.
But this source energy was an energy that came from within.
Many people in the Tulip Kingdom had practiced it, supposedly because Lady Dream had sent back information about it.
But was it really information from Lady Dream?
In theory, no matter what state or location a deity was in, as long as they were still alive, their believers could sense their response. But Lady Dream had been gone for three thousand years.
If the source energy cultivation method really was passed back by Lady Dream, that was fine. But what if it came from the other world after Lady Dream had fallen?
Wouldn’t that be a trap?
As a general, you had to have this kind of awareness. Only then could you bring your subordinates home safely...
Lava General nodded with satisfaction. "Go ahead confidently. With me here, a single Nightmare is nothing to worry about."
Before his words even finished, the young man had already launched into action, decisive and without the slightest hesitation. He immediately fired off an attack using a high-tier spell model imprint.
Even some ordinary high-tier magicians, if they took a hit like this by accident, wouldn’t come out looking too good—at minimum they’d be hurting for ten days to two weeks.
After sensing this, the Hollow actually mimicked the exact same visual effects.
Lava General’s heart tightened.
The battle cleric’s magic-tech attack launched successfully.
The phantom magic-tech attack looked really cool, except it didn’t actually fire.
Lava General’s heart relaxed.
"So it’s just for show. Well, that makes things easier..." Lava General’s expression was calm and collected, as if the expression from moments ago had never appeared at all.
That calm and collected demeanor lasted all the way until the Hollow was successfully captured.
This little thing really could mimic even magic.
Or rather, it seemed like it could mimic all different types of living beings, just like the people from the Tulip Kingdom had said.
Its body turned into a familiar person, its fighting style became that of a familiar person, and even everyday interactions and all that were the same.
It could even steal part of a familiar person’s memories, deliberately imitating and replicating some of their habits.
Pretty terrifying, honestly...
The reason they’d been able to take this thing down so easily was entirely because it had chosen to mimic the War Soldier. The War Soldier itself wasn’t alive, so what was the point of mimicking it?
Just for show—it couldn’t actually launch attacks.
And so, a supposedly powerful Nightmare was taken down just like that, easy as pie.
Even Lava General himself found it kind of unbelievable.
It was way too surreal.
"So we’re naturally equipped to counter these aliens that just entered our world!" After repeatedly confirming through experiments, Lava General couldn’t help but let out a sigh.
The Hollow crisis seemed way easier than he’d imagined.
The other Church of Technology battle clerics, watching this scene, were all pretty excited too. They’d originally thought they might need to fight to the death, and even though they could resurrect, they’d still have to go through plenty of life-and-death situations. Who knew they’d just naturally counter the enemy?
"Don’t let your guard down, everyone. We can’t be sure if that’s the only type of monster in that world," Lava General reminded them.
If this was all they were capable of, Lava General figured the Tulip Kingdom, which had gathered so many legendary-level powerhouses, couldn’t possibly be in such a passive position.
There had to be information they hadn’t uncovered yet.
