The River God gazed incredulously at the paperman. He had initially thought that this paperman only possessed some summoning techniques.

The technique he used, however, was soul explosion, a method that renders summoning techniques useless in such a situation.

Yet now, he felt as though his soul, along with the soul explosion technique, was suppressed by an unknown force, unable to move at all.

The soul explosion, which was supposed to erupt, remained in a state of impending explosion, neither detonating nor dissipating, as if time had frozen.

But the River God knew well that time had not frozen; it was the paperman's power that had completely controlled the power of the soul. Such soul power was unlike anything he had ever seen or heard of.

"How could there be such a terrifying soul-type pet..." The River God was both angry and desperate. He initially held absolute initiative and advantage; at the very least, he could kick Chen Guan out of the Imperial Palace.

But now his soul was out of his body, leaving him without a means to kick Chen Guan out of the Imperial Palace.

"Could it be... that the eras have indeed changed..." An indescribable bitterness flashed through the River God's mind.

He was once a figure who stirred the winds and clouds of the world, capable of vying for the pinnacle of human power, yet he hadn't expected to fall to this point.

Recalling the past, when he was in high spirits, armed with the Mountain-Opening Axe, Water-avoiding Sword Pill, and Mountain and River Map, aiding the King of Great Xia in clearing the heavenly river, securing a place in the Great Cave Heaven, thereby achieving the King's throne of Great Xia and founding a prosperous era; how magnificent was that!

But now, he was pushed to such distress by merely a level 31 human cultivator, so infuriated that he almost wished to end his own life.

Sadly, there's nothing he can do now; he is no longer his own master.

"River God, answer whatever I ask you. If I'm pleased, sparing your life won't be difficult." Chen Guan's gaze was cold, yet his heart was joyous; after nurturing the paperman for so long, it did not betray his efforts.

"You... are not... worthy..." The River God had resolved to die, and was not willing to humiliate himself, issuing a soul roar.

"If you don't cooperate, I will kill Ma Xiaolong as soon as I leave." Seduction unsuccessful, Chen Guan began to threaten.

The River God hesitated for a moment, though he knew that if Chen Guan wished to kill Ma Xiaolong, it would be useless even if he surrendered, yet he was still somewhat reluctant.

Seeing the River God waver, Chen Guan rejoiced inwardly.

He was about to ask something, but saw the paperman's fingers softly move, and the River God's soul instantly shattered, turning into Netherworld energy absorbed and digested by the paperman, vanishing in an instant.

"Hey, I haven't finished asking! Can't we wait a moment before feeding?" Chen Guan was immediately depressed. He had much to inquire of the River God, but the paperman had already obliterated his soul. Isn't this too hasty?

The paperman said nothing, only opened its eyes, shooting out two ghostly beams seemingly from the Netherworld.

The beams met in the air, forming a light image akin to a virtual projection, and then Chen Guan saw some strange scenes. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

It was a first-person perspective, showing everything a person had seen and heard, from the moment they were born.

Opening their eyes to view the world for the first time, seeing the first human, their first tears, first laughter, first time being embraced, first time flipping over, first crawl, first call for mother...

The light image seemed like the life film of a person, replaying everything experienced in their lifetime.

"This... this is the River God's..." Chen Guan exclaimed joyfully and surprised, watching the paperman.

Though the light image was in accelerated playback, life is so long, Chen Guan watched for quite a while, only seeing the person learn to crawl.

The paperman nodded slightly, but the ghostly light from its eyes did not sway with its head movement.

"You read its memories? Can you play them back anytime?" Chen Guan was even more thrilled; the paperman turned out to be more useful than he imagined.

The paperman first shook its head, surprisingly showing a look of contempt and disdain, rolled its eyes at Chen Guan, and then nodded again.

Chen Guan immediately understood; the paperman meant that its ability was not a mere trick like reading memories, and Chen Guan saying so was insulting it.

As for playback, that's certainly possible, hence the paperman nodded.

"Paperman, why didn't you say so earlier with such abilities? Why didn't you mention it sooner? Do you know how I've managed over these years? If I'd known earlier you had such abilities, would I have had to exhaust so many words with him?" Chen Guan was speechless and choked.

Now wasn't the time to watch the River God's life film, Chen Guan first had the paperman withdraw its divine power, and search the Imperial Palace for anything useful.

The River God wasn't an immortal; he couldn't conjure treasures out of thin air.

The Imperial Palace definitely held a treasury left by the King of Great Xia. Once found, it would mean more capital for Chen Guan, bringing him one step closer to establishing his own power.

"Where is it?" Chen Guan released his Secret Spirit to search the vast Imperial Palace.

The underground displayed shattered mountains and rivers, and the sky held crumbling sun, moon, and stars; though they were miniature landscapes, they were quite large in reality.

Puh!

Ghost Eye suddenly began to vomit, spewing out several items from its mouth.

"Probably some indigestible things from the River God," Chen Guan examined closely, discovering Ghost Eye had vomited out several small golden cauldrons.

These golden cauldrons varied in appearance, clearly part of the other cauldrons among the Nine Cauldrons of the Divine Land.

Chen Guan counted them; there were seven in total. Excluding the two taken earlier by Chu Kuangsheng and Bu Changning, the remaining seven of the Nine Cauldrons of the Divine Land were here.

After researching the small cauldrons for a while, Chen Guan determined that the River God's last words about the Divine Land Cauldrons were likely not a lie.

These Nine Cauldrons weren't natural secret treasures but man-made artifacts.

Thus, their information couldn't be seen; their abilities and uses had to be explored in actual combat.

Chen Guan wasn't in a hurry. With the paperman able to replay the River God's life, he would eventually see detailed instructions on the use of the Nine Cauldrons.

After collecting the Nine Cauldrons, Chen Guan had Ghost Eye also search.

Ghost Eye, Rouge, Paperman, Warring States, and Ming Fei were all summoned by Chen Guan to find any possible treasury of the King of Great Xia here.

If not for the limit on summoned pets, Chen Guan would have liked to summon a whole army to turn this place upside down.

Ming Fei looked around, muttering: "This Imperial Palace aligns with the mysteries of heaven and earth; some materials within are exclusive to the Great Cave Heaven. Who could build such a magnificent Imperial Palace in the Cave Heaven?"

"Have you heard of the King of Great Xia?" Chen Guan pondered and asked.
