God-Level All-rounder Expert-Chapter 624 - 693, The Curtain Falls!
Chapter 624: Chapter 693, The Curtain Falls!
Fang Yuying arrived, much to everyone’s surprise. Song Wuliang seemed to have endless grievances he wanted to express, but upon receiving a glare from Fang Yuying, he panicked like a young girl and hid behind Fang Yi.
Fang Yi broke into a sweat and had mixed feelings as he watched Fang Yuying approach.
Slap!
Fang Yuying walked up, raised her hand, and then placed it on Fang Yi’s shoulder.
Fang Yi appeared somewhat surprised because he saw that the Gu insects shied away from Fang Yuying as if they had encountered their natural predator, evidently fearful of her.
This scene also caught the attention of the old crone and the young girl. The old crone frowned disapprovingly while the young girl looked utterly astonished.
These were Gu insects refined by Granny using her own Essence Blood, incredibly toxic and obedient only to her. Even a bull would be devoured in the blink of an eye due to their ferocity.
Yet now... they scattered in fear of that woman—how could the girl not be shocked?
Fang Yuying seemed to pay no heed to their astonishment. She smiled at Fang Yi and said, "Dear brother, your big sister has arrived—you don’t seem very happy."
"I’ve been poisoned," Fang Yi admitted frankly.
"I can see that," Fang Yuying replied, raising her fist slightly and thumping it against Fang Yi’s chest.
At this moment, Fang Yi’s body was stiff from the poison coursing through him. If not for his robust constitution, an average person would have already collapsed.
Fang Yuying suddenly turned her head to look at the old crone and said, "Black Widow Granny?"
"It seems you know who I am," the old crone replied.
"Of course I know. That’s why I brought a countermeasure when I came. Your Gu insects can’t hurt me," Fang Yuying declared.
"Heh, the Gu insects on the ground are just cannon fodder. I have far worse up my sleeve. Little girl, would you like to taste their power?" Black Widow Granny’s silent, sinister laugh was exceedingly eerie.
"No thanks, Granny. I’m not interested," Fang Yuying sharply retorted. "Besides, I didn’t come here to fight you tonight. Someone else will be your opponent."
Black Widow Granny suddenly turned her gaze towards Zhang Qingfeng, her eyes reflecting a hint of wariness.
Zhang Qingfeng slowly stepped forward, positioning himself between the two parties, and said with a bow, "I’m Zhang Qingfeng. I look forward to your instruction."
"Aren’t you afraid of my Gu insects?" Black Widow Granny asked.
Zhang Qingfeng chuckled and responded, "Please proceed."
Without further ado, Black Widow Granny jabbed her walking stick forcefully against the ground, creating a small pit, then, surprisingly, the frail-seeming Black Widow Granny turned into a blur of motion.
The smile on Zhang Qingfeng’s face tightened slightly, and then he too was in motion.
The two masters faced off in an instant.
Finally, Fang Yi could no longer hold on, his legs buckled, and he fell to the ground. Fang Yuying, with her quick reflexes, caught him.
"Hey, dear brother, are you alright?" Though Fang Yuying spoke casually, a flicker of concern passed through her eyes.
"Do I look alright?" Fang Yi grimaced wryly. Anyone else would have been a goner by now.
"Song, the fatty, keep him steady. I’ll get the antidote."
Then Fang Yi landed on Song Wuliang, who let out a yelp—it was because the Black Prison fell out of Fang Yi’s grip, landing directly on Song Wuliang’s foot. The hundred-pound Black Prison caused him agony, revealing veins on his forehead.
After a short while, Fang Yuying returned, grabbing a young girl.
"Hand over the antidote, and I’ll let you go," Fang Yuying demanded.
"No," the girl replied, her face full of stubborn defiance.
Fang Yuying sneered, "I’m not someone with a sharp tongue but a soft heart. Don’t think just because you’re a woman, I won’t lay a hand on you!"
Seeing this, Song Wuliang hurriedly called out, "Sister Yuying, you mustn’t be too harsh and ruin such a delicate flower."
Fang Yuying shot Song Wuliang a glance, "Song Fatty, don’t stick your nose where it doesn’t belong."
Song Wuliang curled his lips and said, "It would be a pity to destroy such a beautiful flower."
Fang Yuying didn’t care about any of that. She pulled a dagger from the sheath tied to her calf and held it against the girl’s throat, then shouted at Black Widow Granny, "Old hag, hand over the antidote!"
At that moment, Black Widow Granny happened to collide with Zhang Qingfeng. After retreating rapidly a few steps, she suddenly looked over with a gaze sharp as a sword, chilling and intimidating.
But Fang Yuying was fearless, her voice cold, "Your glares are useless on me. If anything happens to my brother, I won’t hesitate to harm not just this girl, but you as well."
Zhang Qingfeng held back from attacking, giving Black Widow Granny time to think. Atop the rooftop, the atmosphere was ominously quiet and heavy.
After a long while, Black Widow Granny rasped, "It seems I won’t be killing the kid tonight. So much money, out of my reach." Her tone carried a hint of sigh.
Then Black Widow Granny took out a small porcelain bottle from her sleeve and tossed it to Fang Yuying.
Fang Yuying caught it but did not immediately release the hostage.
"Let her go!" Black Widow Granny demanded.
"How do I know if this antidote is real? If you’re trying to fool me with a fake, then I would be the one who’s fooled," Fang Yuying said.
"What do you propose?"
"Let’s do this... Let the girl stay with me for a few days. Once the antidote you’ve given shows its effect, I’ll release her. What do you think?" Fang Yuying was unfazed by Black Widow Granny’s dark and angry expression.
Black Widow Granny, wary, glanced at Zhang Qingfeng before looking back at Fang Yuying. "Fine, I’ll come back for her in three days. If anything goes wrong with my child, don’t blame me for getting angry."
"Humph, don’t worry, I, Fang Yuying, am not one to break my word," Fang Yuying retorted.

Silence returned to the rooftop.
The night wind blew, lifting her hair. Fang Yuying released the girl and without hesitation poured the contents of the small bottle into Fang Yi’s mouth, as Song Wuliang, by her side, cried out in alarm.
"Sister Yuying, you... you said that the antidote could be fake, right?"
"With a hostage in hand, what’s there to fear?" Fang Yuying replied.
By then, Fang Yi had already passed out. The crisis was over, and there was no longer any need for him to forcefully keep awake. Someone would take care of what followed.
Fang Yuying promptly hoisted Fang Yi onto her back, thanked Zhang Qingfeng, then glanced at the girl and said, "Follow."
The girl understood she had no room to resist and wordlessly followed Fang Yuying into the military helicopter.
The military helicopter soared into the air, then gradually disappeared into the night.
Song Wuliang stood dazed on the rooftop, scanning the surroundings. The place was a mess, with the bodies of three top Assassins from Angel, as well as others, making Song Wuliang feel very troubled.
Just when Song Wuliang was feeling overwhelmed, a squad led by a capable woman appeared just in time. Song Wuliang breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "I knew someone would come to clean up."
It was no other than Cai Qin and the Dragon Team squad she led.
As the battlefield was cleared, the events that unfolded that night also came to a close.
