Global Wasteland: I Obtained A Top Tier Shelter-Chapter 752 - 499 Behind the Scenes_2
Evil God...
That thing is actually a Mythical Giant Beast...
Lin Yue discovered that, in the eyes of the Wolf-headed Men, some things differed in perspective from those he had encountered.
The Mythical Giant Beast was the "first" creature the system labeled.
On the world channel, the system also sequentially displayed the images and data of two Mythical Giant Beasts.
Although that happened after he defeated them, it was truly the first time they were labeled as "Mythical Giant Beasts."
Upon reflection, no other creature seemed to have received such treatment before.
Also, what did this old guy mean by ancestors were involved in building it?
How long have the Wolf-headed Men been here?
As Lin Yue pondered, the door opened again, and a more elderly Wolf-headed Man, looking as if he was near death, was brought back by the Wolf-headed Man who had just left.
This older Wolf-headed Man seemed close to dying, gasping with every step, struggling to endure.
His fur was completely white, his eyes tightly shut, and he deeply knelt before Lin Yue and Bai, performing a grand ceremony Lin Yue had previously experienced outside.
Then, Bai had him rise again and started questioning him.
Soon, the elderly Wolf-headed Man slowly began to speak in a language Lin Yue couldn’t understand, while Bai, acting as the translator, nodded intermittently. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Finally, after ten minutes, Bai turned his head and began to convey the information to Lin Yue.
The essence was simple.
In short, a long time ago, the ancestors of the Wolf-headed Men were transported en masse from their homeland by a mysterious creature to this world.
Afterward, they began to root in this world, living and multiplying.
The gem seemed to be a precious item they had originally extracted with tremendous effort, connected to an ancient ritual.
Later, the Wolf-headed Men established various nations globally, and the twelve gems initially belonged to the largest four nations.
Overall, numerous nations were established by the Wolf-headed Men in this world, with the twelve largest continually eliminating weaker nations.
Over an extremely long period, only a few hundred nations remained in the world.
But this situation didn’t last long; the Lizardmen appeared.
They were savage and violent, controlling unseen monsters to kill, seize, and enslave the Wolf-headed Men.
The Lizardmen wiped out nearly all nations within a few years, dragging most Wolf-headed Men to construct palaces and temples underground.
Those taken away nearly all perished outdoors during the calamity and never returned.
The twelve gems symbolizing power, status, and Wolf-headed Men’s history disappeared during the catastrophe.
But, many years later, one day.
During another Lizardmen assault on the Wolf-headed Men’s castle, they no longer saw those powerful monsters once controlled by the Lizardmen and successfully repelled them.
The Lizardmen never appeared again, but the Wolf-headed Men suffered heavy losses with barely any population left.
Afterward, through a long recovery period, they restored their population to full strength and significantly advanced their civilization.
They reestablished tens of thousands of nations, only to discover diverse humanoid civilizations emerging in the world.
The time seemed to be just around a hundred years ago.
After nearly a year of warfare with these humanoid civilizations, due to the multidirectional wars, the Wolf-headed Men continuously lost territory and drastically reduced their population.
They also encountered humans.
However, human weaponry hardly differed from theirs, making them the weaker, disadvantaged party, eventually disappearing.
The Wolf-headed Men’s descendants retreated to a very small territory and established over six hundred cities within a hundred-plus years.
Though everyone reigned independently, it was a loose confederation without a defined division between nations; they continued to recuperate and thrive.
In Wolf-headed Men’s history, the white flying dragon was always called "Holy."
The white flying dragon seemed to be the messenger of that mysterious power, which brought them to this world, appearing several times throughout history.
They attacked Bai to confine him, intending to use this as leverage to reunite the confederation, consolidate forces, and escape their remote and barren land to once again rule the world.
However, they later learned their lesson.
After losing three city lords in several battles, they finally learned humility and realized their true purpose.
As for addressing Lin Yue as "God," it was because the legend stated that the creature who brought them to this world was powerful like Lin Yue, wearing armored metal from head to toe and capable of flight.
As Lin Yue listened, the cold dishes were replaced with a new batch when the elderly Wolf-headed Man finished speaking.
Lin Yue picked up the skewered meat and ate while reflecting on what the elderly Wolf-headed Man had said.
"It seems that some things differ from what I imagined again."
Lin Yue recorded the highlights shared by the elderly Wolf-headed Man on the System Tablet.
Several keywords compelled him to consider more deeply.
The Wolf-headed Men did not seem to emerge with humans during the first wave of the survival game, arriving here much earlier, surviving for potentially hundreds or even thousands of years in this Otherworld.
The Lizardmen apparently followed suit; however, unlike the Wolf-headed Men’s progress in civilization, the Lizardmen seemed solely dedicated to warfare without improving their civilization.
The Wolf-headed Men once flourished in this world but experienced two consecutive declines, retreating to this massive valley surrounded by mountains to recuperate.
The first downturn was due to the Lizardmen, the second due to numerous humanoid creatures, including humans.
Lin Yue imagined humans should have appeared twenty years ago.
"But it doesn’t seem to be that way... according to the Wolf-headed Men, that was about a hundred years ago... but it doesn’t add up."
Lin Yue frowned, recalling the decayed bones in the Doomsday Bunker didn’t appear to be from a mere twenty years.
"If... the year in this world and Earth aren’t the same..." Lin Yue looked at the wheezing elderly Wolf-headed Man and asked Bai.
"Bai, my next few questions are very important."
"Master, you want to ask how long a year in this world is?" Bai astutely figured it out.
"Yes, Bai, exactly."
Bai promptly provided the answer: "Master, 365 days."
Lin Yue felt a chill run through his scalp.
A year is 365 days!
The same as Earth!
Suddenly, this matter seemed intriguing...
Lin Yue recalled the unending timer on the control tower at Osaka’s airport.
After Lin Yue and over seven billion humans crossed to this Otherworld, when the Secret Realm Gate opened, humans discovered that Earth had experienced thirty-seven years.
These two events seemed to align perfectly.
Xing Lingfeng and Old Sun first participated in the survival game 20 years ago, then somehow returned to 20 years ago on Earth, which shouldn’t have been the same space-time.
But for the Wolf-headed Men, the previous wave seemed to have arrived a hundred years ago, not 20 years ago.
Therefore, the one holding the key to the space-time gate...
Lin Yue felt he was gradually approaching the crux of the ultimate secret.
However, it seemed he needed to do more to reveal the hidden mastermind behind the scenes!
