Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate-Chapter 157 - 156: Ambition to Become Emperor
Swoosh!
A white light flashed, and Lin You once again appeared on the Teleportation Plaza of the main city.
The Angel’s Wing Main City seemed busier today than it was yesterday.
Everywhere he looked, there were Lords and Cultivators bustling about.
In fact.
Lin You even saw a few newcomers who, like him the day before, had just been teleported over and looked completely bewildered.
Then...
He witnessed a familiar scene.
"Hey, buddy, you look new here, right? Just arrived? Need a guide? I can give you a discount."
A Tier Six Lord, whom Lin You had never seen before, greeted those newcomers with a playful smile, eagerly promoting himself.
Well, he didn’t expect this had actually become an industry in the main city, which he found amusing.
This must be something every newcomer has to experience, he thought.
Not bothering with it, he left the Teleportation Plaza directly and walked toward the task hall.
Unexpectedly, a middle-aged man clad in armor suddenly appeared in front of him, blocking his way.
"You must be Lin You, Mr. Lin?"
Mr...Mr.?
Lin You stopped in his tracks instantly.
He was almost choked by this address.
However, he quickly looked at the person with a puzzled expression.
"Do we know each other?"
"No, but my master knows you and would like to invite you to the mansion for a meeting." The man slightly bowed to Lin You.
From the aura he emitted, Lin You could feel that this was at least a Tier Seven Cultivator.
And judging by his attire, he should be a subordinate of a major power.
But the problem was, he had only been here for one day and didn’t seem to know anyone from a major power.
"May I ask who your master is?" he asked curiously.
"Well... that’s inconvenient to disclose." The man hesitated for a moment, "My master insists on inviting you over, would you honor us with your presence?"
"Well... alright, lead the way."
Since everyone in the city was protected by the rules, Lin You wasn’t worried about encountering any danger, so he might as well go and see who this person was that even knew his name.
"Please follow me."
Just like that.
Lin You got into the carriage arranged by the armored man, and they traveled through the streets, gradually delving deeper into the main city.
After half an hour.
The carriage finally stopped in front of a quiet and exquisite courtyard.
"Mr. Lin, we’ve arrived."
The man’s voice came from outside the carriage door.
"Have we?"
Lin You lifted the curtain and got off the carriage, looking with surprise at the small courtyard before him.
To him, anyone who could have a Tier Seven Cultivator lead the way must have a high status and should be at a luxurious palace or a grand estate.
To his surprise, it was such a quiet place.
But this was also good, as he didn’t enjoy noise anyway.
Upon getting off the carriage, he was guided by the man through the gate into a courtyard full of flowers and plants.
The first thing he saw was a familiar figure sitting by a stone table in the courtyard, sipping tea.
"Is it you?"
Lin You exclaimed in surprise.
Before him was none other than the Empire’s Third Prince, Qin Li, whom he had met during a mission yesterday.
Lin You didn’t expect the person who wanted to see him was Qin Li!
As he observed Qin Li, Qin Li also put down his teacup, looked up at him, and smiled slightly.
"Brother Lin, have a seat."
He gestured invitingly.
"Do you know me?"
Lin You calmed his surprise, slowly walked over, and sat by the stone table.
Qin Li smiled: "Of course I know you, Brother Lin’s battle at the checkpoint yesterday was quite impressive, who hasn’t heard?"
"You know?" Lin You was startled.
He silently acknowledged that, as expected of an Imperial Prince, he had already found out about his affairs so quickly.
However, he was not too surprised as he had anticipated such a situation.
After taking a sip from the freshly poured tea, he directly asked: "So, what do you need from me? Surely it’s not just to have tea with me?"
"Haha, Brother Lin is indeed straightforward, just as I value." Qin Li’s face still had a warm smile, and his eyes showed even more appreciation.
"Since you’re so forward, I’ll get to the point. I am here to ask for your help...to achieve greatness!"
"Achieve greatness?"
"Exactly, having just arrived in the main city, Brother Lin should have heard something about me, Qin?"
"I have indeed heard some things." Lin You nodded.
Qin Li is the Celestial Vault Emperor’s third son, with the Eldest Prince and Second Princess above him, and because he didn’t inherit the Angel Type species, he was not favored by the Emperor.
This is information that can be easily found out.
Though there might be some exaggerations, it’s likely not far from the truth.
Qin Li seemed to understand these rumors and said helplessly: "Brother Lin should know, being born into the imperial family, you have the least freedom, many things aren’t your choice, and even on this continent, it is the same."
"Why is that? With your status, you should not lack resources, right?"
"Indeed, I do not lack resources, but to go further, those resources alone are far from enough. I must gain my father’s approval."
"The Great Emperor’s approval?" Lin You became interested.
"Correct." Qin Li nodded, his face turning more serious, "Brother Lin should have heard that beyond Tier Nine lies the Saint Tier, right?"
"I know."
"Then you must know that to achieve the Saint Tier, one needs to possess a Divine Fragment?"
"Divine Fragment? What is that?"
Lin You asked inquisitively, as this was the first time he had heard of such a thing.
Moreover, it involved matters beyond Tier Ten, which intrigued him even more.
Qin Li seemed very pleased with his response and said with a laugh: "It seems Brother Lin hasn’t heard of it, so I will tell you."
"Divine Fragments are actually an extension of the Main God’s will. A Tier Nine Lord wishing to advance to Tier Ten must possess a Divine Fragment, then continually refine it through the Power of Faith, gradually upgrading and enhancing their strength."
"But to break the limits and reach Tier Twelve, one must obtain more Divine Fragments and fully repair the Divine Format, then there is a slight possibility, or they must... obtain a Tier Twelve Lord’s legacy!"
"Each Tier Twelve can pass on their legacy only once and won’t do so easily. To acquire my father’s legacy, I must surpass my elder brother and sister and prove to be more outstanding than they are."
"Now you understand why I specifically sought you out?"
As he spoke, Qin Li silently glanced at Lin You, as if studying his reaction.
By this time, Lin You had been drawn into this astonishing fact and couldn’t extricate himself.
After a while, he finally came back to his senses and said in surprise: "Only by obtaining Divine Fragments can one upgrade. Doesn’t that mean it’s basically impossible for other Lords to exceed Tier Ten?"
"You could say so." Qin Li nodded, "But as long as you are willing to support me, when I ascend the throne, I can provide you with Divine Fragments, helping you establish a Duchy or even a Kingdom, how about it?"
Clearly, Qin Li is a man with great ambition.
He doesn’t just wish to establish a Duchy, or even a Kingdom.
He aims for the pinnacle of the continent, Tier Twelve!
