Global Game: I Can Choose Instance Rewards-Chapter 541 - 369: Scattering and Searching
The first player to be discovered was the Xia Country gunslinger who was the first to run away. He used his only random Teleportation Scroll while escaping, which could transport him to a location within a ten-kilometer radius of the use site. Currently, he appeared in a desolate wasteland, specifically to the north of the Grand Town, where there were few people, little vegetation, only rocks, and dry land—the standard wasteland.
When he first appeared, he was somewhat relieved that he had decisively escaped from the vicinity of the terrifying BOSS. But as an iron lump emerged on the horizon in the distance and visibly locked onto him, speeding towards him, he knew his escape had not been successful.
"Damn it! You’re even sending people to chase me down! Watch me blow you to bits with one shot!"
Furious, he immediately pulled out a shoulder-launched rocket from his personal space, not even needing to load it as he directly aimed and fired a roaring rocket at the distant skyborne target!
This weapon was almost essential for high-level gunslinger players, and even many non-gunslinger players favored it due to its excellent range and power, which could insta-kill BOSSes for fast clears in some dungeons.
The rocket, produced from the dungeon, was incredibly fast, accelerating to speeds surpassing bullets in a very short time, then covering a great distance as it used a self-guiding function to lock onto the heavy helicopter in the sky, determined to blow it to pieces.
The heavy helicopter itself couldn’t do much evasive action in this brief time, but the two Mecha warriors it carried were not in the same boat. A nearly three-meter-tall humanoid machine swiftly flew out of the helicopter, heading to intercept the incoming rocket with terrifying speed and agility.
Its shoulder immediately launched a barrage of munitions, and in the collision with the small yet heavy ammunition, the rocket sustained significant damage.
But strangely, it did not explode from the damage and persisted steadfastly towards its target, even beginning to automatically change course to avoid the Mecha warrior’s interception.
This was actually a characteristic of advanced equipment at work. Many high-grade technological devices were highly intelligent, not easily rendered ineffective by mere interference.
The Xia Country gunslinger player on the ground, seeing this scene, realized things were going south and quickly took a plain-looking piece of paper from his personal space, then suddenly tore it apart.
With this action completed, a bizarre, brightly colored car entirely made of paper appeared out of thin air before him. It looked like a burnable offering used by tycoons for the deceased, exuding unspeakable eeriness and horror, but the player, wearing a trench coat and sunglasses, immediately climbed inside as if rushing to visit the underworld.
"Get me out of here fast! I need to go to the safest place!"
Inside the bizarre paper car, the player quickly spoke to a paper person strapped to the dashboard. Despite its crude appearance, far from lifelike, it was indeed the driver of this bizarre vehicle.
Sure enough, when the auto-guided rocket aimed at the heavy helicopter was slashed and exploded by a Mecha war blade wielded by the second Mecha warrior to emerge, the other Mecha warrior already spewed propulsion flames from its feet, reaching near the paper car, making the situation extremely dangerous.
The Mecha warrior didn’t care how bizarre or weird the paper car was. Its cannon on the shoulder was mercilessly aimed at the wheel of the paper car, preparing to cripple the strange object first because the orders from above were to capture the target alive if possible.
However, the gunslinger player facing imminent peril didn’t care one bit about the Mecha bullet already fired at his vehicle, without any concern for being torn apart by the terrifying firepower. Lounging on the uncomfortable paper sofa, he showed an expression of annoyance, the annoyance of having to use precious items once again.
"I didn’t expect this dungeon to be so difficult, encountering all sorts of powerful enemies right from the start. I have to be more discreet, having already used two precious life-saving items. It’s best to hide somewhere and survive for a month with no further losses."
He was pondering how to clear this dungeon challenge and analyzing how to maximize his benefits. According to his character, slaughtering all the opposing players would be the best solution, but now it seemed that things weren’t as simple as he thought, and the pressure from the native dungeon was too much. Considering internal conflicts again might lead to failure.
While he was contemplating, the Mecha warrior above was approaching closer, and the ammo it fired precisely hit the bizarre paper car on the ground. Yet, the paper car, seemingly fragile, displayed a defiance of physical laws:
It suffered no damage, as if the powerful Mecha ammunition and it belonged to different worlds, totally unimpacted.
"Report, suspected unknown supernatural phenomenon detected, attempting close-range interception strategy."
The operator inside the Mecha, truly the Mecha warrior, was suddenly very intrigued seeing this strange phenomenon. He assumed his Mecha, with its multi-layered strong defensive armor, could adopt a more aggressive enemy-blocking strategy, and simply landed in front of the bizarre paper car, intending to directly lift it with the Mecha for tight control.
This step initially appeared very smooth. The three-meter-high Mecha extended its steel-built arms and hands to touch the paper car, slightly lifting it. But only slightly, as the paper car then entered an enormously bizarre state, seemingly grabbed by the Mecha, yet suddenly "permeating" into the Mecha, like one phantom slowly penetrating another physical entity.
"Activate supernatural protection!"
Presented with such bizarre phenomena, the Mecha warrior immediately recognized a twist in the situation, but he was not too flustered. This world inherently contained many peculiar supernatural abilities, and as a Mecha warrior, he had special defensive measure against them.
A special vibration frequency quickly emanated from the Mecha’s core, constructing an invisible supernatural shield, causing the bizarre paper car penetrating the Mecha to hesitate, as if impacted by this power, finding advancement hard.
The Xia Country gunslinger player inside the bizarre paper car, seeing this, showed no change in expression at all, casually leaning against the paper couch, not glancing at the paper car’s condition.
"Success!"
The Mecha warrior, however, believed his response to be highly effective, about to complete the capture task his superiors assigned him.
But in the next second, an abrupt change happened!
The bizarre paper car, slightly stalled, suddenly emitted an unspeakable eerie noise, like ghost wails or an eerie engine roar.
Then, it burst through the supernatural obstruction, raising its front toward the direction of the Mecha warrior! More precisely, it penetrated the Mecha, heading toward the Mecha warrior inside!
The Mecha warrior, rigorously trained, instantly considered abandoning the Mecha and fleeing, because anyone could tell this approaching thing was very strange, potentially extremely dangerous.
But all this happened too quickly. The Mecha he controlled wasn’t colossal, so before he could open the hatch, the bizarre paper car had already fully "permeated" all the armor defenses, crashing into him!
In an instant, this Mecha warrior felt himself being flung, but oddly, he didn’t experience the physical pain of collision with Mecha components. Instead, he saw below in his sight the complete Mecha standing on the wasteland, with the bizarre paper car speeding through it and disappearing.
He himself seemed like a balloon, flying higher and further, watching everything below on the ground become diminutive.
"What... happened to me... so cold... so tired..."
This Mecha warrior couldn’t comprehend his current state, wanting to rally his Spirit to investigate closely, but it was all too late, as he felt his consciousness rapidly blurring, sinking into an endless darkness.
