Global Game: Developing a Knight Clan-Chapter 148 - 137: Demon Beast Dawn, Chief’s Video Exposed (Part 2)
However, limited by manpower and the fledgling state of Dawn City at the time, their reconnaissance had only covered a radius of about three hundred kilometers.
Thus, Lince had naturally learned about the two Giant Demon cities, Copper Hammer City and Farm City, right from the start.
He just hadn’t known their specific names back then.
Farm City was located north of the Mist Forest, approximately one hundred and ninety kilometers away.
The city was surrounded by plains filled with reclaimed farmland, offering no cover as far as the eye could see.
It had a large population of human slaves, but a correspondingly large number of Giant Demons as well.
In terms of combat strength, however, it probably couldn’t compare to Copper Hammer City. After all, as an agricultural city, it was effectively in the rear. So, while there were many Giant Demons, their overall strength was just enough to easily maintain control over the human slaves.
Naturally, Lince planned to strike Farm City first.
As for the so-called Phantom Sea City, it was undoubtedly located at the southernmost edge of the Mist Forest.
’A navy? Wiping out remnant human forces overseas?’
It was easy to imagine that this city’s strength was by no means low.
Therefore, after learning about this city, Lince had originally planned to leave it be for the time being and prioritize conquering Farm City.
However, before Lince could even process all this information...
...another message arrived from Insomnia and Rain.
Insomnia and Rain: "Chief, there’s been a recent development concerning Phantom Sea City. I was wondering if you’d be interested?"
"Recently, simulation videos from several players in that city have shown large-scale troop movements. If our analysis is correct, the city has likely discovered a settlement of human survivors overseas. It seems all of their Airships and naval vessels are being deployed."
"Based on the situation, at least ninety percent of their army will be sent out. We don’t know exactly how many High Tier Giant Demons will be deployed, but it’s undeniably a rare opportunity."
Lince was slightly taken aback as he read the message from Insomnia and Rain.
Then, he couldn’t help but grin.
’After I mentioned the situation in the Mist Forest...’
’...the Human Alliance Countermeasures Bureau must have zeroed in on Dawn City’s situation.’
’After all, according to the information they just shared, there are two Players in my Dawn City now.’
’The simulation videos from those two Players must have given the Human Alliance a complete picture of my situation as the Chief Player.’
’If so, they would have quickly deduced my plans to wage external wars to increase my Growth Level.’
Lince wasn’t concerned about this.
After all, even if he didn’t bring it up himself, the Human Alliance Countermeasures Bureau would find out sooner or later while screening the videos from the second wave of Players.
So, in response to Lince’s situation...
...the Human Alliance Countermeasures Bureau was surely helping him achieve results more quickly.
After all, it was a mutually beneficial arrangement.
Phantom Sea City was a clear example of this.
Of course, Lince also had to consider the possibility that someone within the Human Alliance Countermeasures Bureau might try to harm him.
He had a contingency for that: no matter what intelligence he received from the Human Alliance Countermeasures Bureau, he would immediately dispatch his Demon Beasts or human subordinates to verify it.
Thus, Lince was naturally interested in the situation at Phantom Sea City.
With a single thought, Lince had already sent the Shadow Wind Dragon Eagle and a dozen or so other Flying Demon Beasts toward the southern coastal region.
The distance was 250 kilometers at most. For a Tier Six Shadow Wind Dragon Eagle, a round trip at top speed should only take an hour or two.
His focus returned to the message on his phone.
Lince replied at once.
Anonymous: "The intel on Phantom Sea City is indeed good. I’ll go and confirm the situation."
"However, I’m actually quite interested in the two Players in Dawn City. I wonder what kind of image I have in their simulation videos?"

Insomnia and Rain: "That’s no problem. But, Chief, you must not have checked the game videos online for the past few hours, have you?"
"The simulation videos about Dawn City are already getting quite a bit of attention. As for your image... well, you should probably see for yourself. Link: ..."
’So, even if I hadn’t mentioned the Mist Forest, the Countermeasures Bureau would have found out about Dawn City after a night of sifting through information?’
’The simulation videos from the first test of two hundred thousand second-wave Players really couldn’t stop the power of the Human Alliance’s gossip-loving masses.’
’It’s only been less than thirty-five hours, and this is already trending?’
Lince looked at the link from Insomnia and Rain and clicked it. The video appeared instantly.
[Enslaved for Decades, Liberated at Last! Have You Felt the Love From a Great Being of Blue Star?]
???
The video title left Lince at a loss for words.
It didn’t mention the Chief by name, but every word was about him.
’Very fitting for the style of the True Game.’
The video opened with, undoubtedly, an emaciated human slave Player.
His opening strategy was to just survive.
Faced with three choices, he chose to be a dog for the Giant Demon masters of Copper Hammer City, seeking only to survive and find an opportunity.
And he really was treated like a dog. He lived in a stone cave meant for livestock, worked the fields every day, and ate the Giant Demons’ foul-smelling leftovers.
But even for those foul-smelling leftovers, hundreds of slaves would fight one another for every scrap.
Unfortunately, during the first eight hours of the game, this Player failed to snatch any food and went hungry.
All in all, it was a truly miserable experience.
If not for his good luck, he wouldn’t have received a rare reward from his initial choice of three: a more hunger-resistant constitution.
Otherwise, he would have certainly died long ago in this simulation.
After all, Lince didn’t launch his war against Copper Hammer City until over three hundred days later.
Therefore, the first three hundred-odd days of the Player’s simulation video were almost entirely skipped.
What little content there was consisted of a few ’exciting’ moments of him successfully snatching some rotten food.
In short, it was just plain miserable.
Thankfully, by playing it safe, the Player managed to survive until the moment Lince made his move on Copper Hammer City.
In the video, under the cover of night, an unknown black cloud appeared over Copper Hammer City.
The black cloud roiled. At a moment when the entire city was silent, the simulation video showed thousands of black threads suddenly descending from the strange cloud.
These black threads precisely struck one Giant Demon after another, whether they were sleeping or on patrol.
Then, visibly, one Giant Demon after another bizarrely lost their lives.
And, as if to highlight Lince’s power, the video also showed a scene of the Copper Hammer City Lord trapped in a nightmare.
In the nightmare, the Copper Hammer City Lord was dragged into a dark abyss.
In the abyss, this City Lord saw one powerful Professional from the Karte World after another.
He fought! He roared!
But in the end, he was overwhelmed by a relentless tide of Human Professionals who appeared one after another like the Undead.
The struggle and despair on his face just before death were perfectly mirrored on the real-world Giant Demon’s face.
Besides this scene, the Player’s simulation video also showed York leading Dawn City’s soldiers into battle, watched by countless Demon Beasts.
However, high in the sky, Lince, the Giant Dragon, was obscured.
Its form wasn’t pixelated in the traditional sense, but it might as well have been.
The Giant Dragon’s entire figure was shrouded in a mass of what looked like a pulsating cloud.
In the end, as the video concluded, the Player was coincidentally transferred to Dawn City.
The moment the scale of Dawn City was revealed, its magnificent aura and prosperous landscape dealt a critical mental blow to countless viewers.
"Holy crap!!! For real!!! I was wondering where the Chief went. So he was on a new map this whole time!"
"No doubt about it! That human in the lead looks so familiar. Isn’t that the Chief Player’s contracted Pet? His name is York, too. Who else could it be but the Chief Player?"
"The Chief Player is really going big! This move... this move is on another level! He’s really Tier Seven, guys! And he has so many Middle-High Tier Magical Beasts under his command! Damn, at this point, I’d believe it if someone told me the Chief has completely conquered the Demon Beast Mountain Range."
"Makes you feel worthless, man. While regular Players are still stuck in a survival adventure game, our Chief has already started his world domination tournament!!!"
