Global Awakening: Infinite Gift Pack System-Chapter 158: It’s Mine!
The enemies were actually building a huge artillery to deal with the shelter!
It was a long and meticulous process, and only after about an hour did the skeletal frame begin to resemble a weapon.
Four massive legs were anchored into the ground, supporting a central barrel that stretched upward like a monstrous cannon...
Then, the female figure watched as the Spyders welded plates into place, while Sentinels carried heavy components and locked them into position.
"What the heck? They’re really building a huge weapon here..." she muttered.
They were certainly a coordinated workforce!

Meanwhile, the defenders of the shelter from afar hadn’t noticed the situation yet.
Their focus had been on repairing the wall and tending to the wounded. But when the artillery’s silhouette grew taller than the ruins nearby, Claire finally spotted it.
Her heart sank. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"They’re building something... something huge!" she shouted.
Panic spread through the shelter. Survivors rushed to the ramparts, staring at the construction in horror.
The realization hit them all at once. This wasn’t just another wave of enemies. This was preparation for annihilation.
Since they had survived Haven-45’s bombardment before, they knew very well about this weapon! It was an artillery meant to destroy shelters!
They had so many questions right now.
Why would the mechanized army suddenly build that and attempt to annihilate them?
Were they considered such a threat that the enemy would deploy a weapon of mass destruction?
Was sending hordes of Sentinels and Dragoons not enough? Why escalate to this level?
Everyone felt the same bitter truth... this wasn’t fair. They had no Augmented Humans on their side, no enhanced warriors to match such overwhelming force.
Yet here they were, being targeted with a weapon powerful enough to erase them in a single strike.
Still, Farrah immediately took command. "We can’t wait for it to finish! If that cannon fires, the shelter is done!"
Within minutes, a strike group was assembled, and this time, Farrah led the team...
It was decided like that because of her ability to create a barrier. It was called Knight Armor, a Gene Skill she had invested with all of her Skill Points! It was now a Level 5 Skill and could block bullets easily.
She hadn’t tried blocking Plasma Burst with this ability yet, but she’s the one with the strongest defense right now...
It was better for her to lead the team.
As she climbed into the armored car, several fighters joined her, armed with rifles, blades, and whatever weapons they could carry.
The vehicle soon started moving with its engine growling as it sped out of the shelter gates toward the construction site.
Claire watched them go, gripping her bat tightly. She wanted to join, but Victor insisted she stay to coordinate defense at the wall or evacuation...
"If they fail, we’ll need you here," he said grimly.
Meanwhile, the mysterious female figure who had been observing from afar squinted her eyes. She had already planned to destroy the artillery herself, silently, before the shelter even realized the danger. But her Spirit Points hadn’t yet recovered, leaving her unable to act for some time...
Then, a moment later, when she finally felt ready, she saw Farrah’s strike team mobilize. She didn’t know them, but she saw them coming out of the fortified shelter...
"So they noticed what’s going on here... good. Maybe I don’t have to intervene after all," she muttered.
Still, worry gnawed at her.
The Spyders weren’t ordinary mechanized soldiers. They carried plasma rifles, weapons far deadlier than the standard blades or guns. A single volley could melt through armor, and the Armored Car they were using wouldn’t last for a long time.
Her eyes narrowed further. "Do they even have the means to fight back against plasma?"
And then, just as her concern peaked, something unexpected happened.
The Spyders noticed them immediately.
Several mechanized soldiers turned their heads with their plasma rifles glowing faintly as they locked onto the approaching vehicle.
One Spyder finished charging and was about to shoot...
It aimed directly at the armored car’s engine and for sure, a single shot could have melted through the metal and crippled their advance.
But before it could fire, a gunshot rang out.
Bang!
From the roof of the armored car, one of the defenders had already taken position. His rifle fired, and the bullet struck the plasma rifle’s barrel at the perfect angle!
The weapon jerked sideways, and its shot discharged harmlessly into the dirt!
The plasma blast scorched the ground, leaving a molten scar, but the armored car was untouched!
"Nice shot!" someone shouted.
At this time, the mysterious female figure was already impressed. However, it didn’t end there...
Boom!
One of the artillery’s massive legs exploded out of nowhere!
It was torn apart by a huge force that she hadn’t noticed until it was already there!
"Hmm? What’s happening here?"
The entire structure shuddered, and its frame started tilting precariously as alarms blasted off from the mechanized soldiers.
"This is crazy... When did they planted a bomb or something?"
However, she soon realized what was going on!
The mysterious woman’s eyes widened as she saw two figures had arrived out of nowhere.
They seemed to have arrived on the battlefield with impossible speed.
But then, she recognized the man instantly.
"Kai!" she gasped.
It was the same for Farrah and the others who were still moving closer with their Armored Car!
"It’s Kai and Atom! Yeah!"
The strongest fighter of the shelter had returned.
Just like that, they watched as Kai’s rifle suppressed the Spyders and Sentinels, enough for the armored car to be relieved from the pressure.
Then, Kai turned his attention back to the artillery’s supports or legs! Beside him, Atom charged forward!
This mechanized soldier didn’t even use a sword or gun as it smashed into a Sentinel, crumpling its chest like paper!
The battlefield erupted into chaos.
Spyders scrambled to defend the artillery!
They tried killing Kai with their plasma rifles, but it was too slow!
Blue streaks of energy lit up, scorching the ground and walls, but Kai’s Specter Step avoided them all.
"This artillery... It’s mine!" Kai shouted as he made sure not to damage the main components of the weapon.
