Global Awakening: Infinite Gift Pack System-Chapter 105: Rewards and Recruitment
Kai blinked at the notification as he didn’t expect that it would have a different name.
It wasn’t a Field Tyrant at all. The system had classified it as a War Tyrant, and Kai wasn’t exactly sure, but he felt that it was a stronger variant.
’I guess I’m lucky its joints were already damaged.’ He mused.
And more than that, it had dropped something new, a Survivor Medal!
The Field Tyrants they eliminated didn’t drop it before, so he knew that this War Tyrant was definitely special.
’A Survivor Medal just like that... This is just so perfect.’ Kai clenched his fist in excitement. He just got a report that the Gene Trader had been found. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
With another Survivor Medal, he could exchange more from the Gene Trader!
But the system wasn’t finished yet!
A familiar message came, it was something he had also obtained before when eliminating the first Field Tyrant!
[ Congratulations! You are the first Survivor to eliminate a War Tyrant (C). ]
[ Hint: Only the first elimination of each C‑Grade and higher unit can provide special rewards! ]
[ You can select one reward: Instant Experience Potion x2, Energy Cores x2, Random Gift Pack x2, Random Weapon Blueprint x2, Material Treasure Chest x2 ]
Kai grinned after as he saw this.
"Finally... something worth the risk."
Without hesitation, he chose the Random Weapon Blueprint. He had already selected the Energy Cores before, so he could help the others break the limit of Level 5 or use it to power their Plasma Rifles... Now, it was time to use it for his shelter.
[ Reward Selected: Random Weapon Blueprint x2 ]
[ Item has been added to your inventory. System rewards do not consume inventory slots. ]
Kai was satisfied with this result. He would check the blueprint later, but for now, his attention was drawn to movement ahead.
Two figures approached cautiously.
They weren’t enemies. They were the survivors from the shelter attacked by the War Tyrant.
Of course, their gear gave them away immediately. They wore the familiar Tier‑1 Survivor Gear after all.
It was the same plain dark jackets, durable pants, and sturdy boots he had worn when he first arrived.
Kai raised a hand, signaling Atom to stand down. The Sentinel lowered its rifle and its eyes or optics started dimming slightly, no longer locked onto the newcomers.
The pair stopped a few meters away. One was a young woman with bruises and small cuts on her face and hands.
The other was a taller man who seemed a little tense. Nonetheless, just like Kai, they also had revolvers holstered at their side. They must’ve selected the Weapons Gift Pack at the start of the event.
Then, the woman spoke first. "I’m Farrah. This is Alfie. We... saw what you did."
Alfie nodded, though he was still a little wary. "That thing was tearing through the area. We didn’t think anyone could bring it down so easily."
As he said this, he glanced at Atom, hoping that the man in front of them would introduce himself and perhaps recruit them in their shelter.
Well, to be honest, this Haven-62 was already hopeless... Of course, they wouldn’t be so cruel as to leave the resident while they were injured, but their desire to live was still strong. They have left so many things back on Earth, and they have seen other survivors die.
Those deaths didn’t look good, as many of them were vaporized by plasma guns. They could almost guarantee that death here wouldn’t bring them back to Earth, as nothing happened.
They had a strong feeling that this wasn’t some sort of game but reality.
Meanwhile, Kai studied them for a moment. Their tone wasn’t hostile, but cautious. Survivors protecting their shelter, just like he had once done.
"I’m Kai," he said simply. "And this is Atom... an A-Grade Sentinel I found." He gestured to the Sentinel beside him.
Of course, none of them noticed something off about his name just yet.
Their eyes were too focused on the machine.
"You... you actually have a Sentinel under your command? Are you an Augmented Human? Is it possible to join your shelter? We will not be a burden. We have special Gene Skills that boost our talents." Farrah said, and she was filled with conviction.
"Yes! We may be weak right now. But we’re going to become really strong." Alfie added.
Kai didn’t answer immediately.
He finally realized that these two guys didn’t know who he was.
’I thought my name was unique though...’ He mused as he initially thought that they would recognize his name from the Leaderboard with his unusual name.
’Still... Do I look like one of those powerful Augmented Humans?’ He couldn’t help but smile as he reached this thought.
Anyway, he was actually a bit concerned about whether to accept these guys or not.
He still didn’t forget what had happened to Samantha and those guys who had run away with his resources before.
However, it also didn’t change the fact that these guys would indeed have the potential to become even stronger.
Kai’s gaze then lingered on the wreckage of the War Tyrant before turning back to Farrah and Alfie.
He decided to test the two on how honest they could be...
"I can’t say much about myself, but I’ll be back later to collect the valuable loot from this War Tyrant. I want you two to gather and guard it for me. When I return, we’ll discuss whether you’re fit to join my shelter."
’Finally!’
Farrah and Alfie exchanged a quick glance, then nodded in unison. The fact that they were given a chance was already a huge deal for them!
They understood this was a test. If they wanted Kai’s trust, they had to prove themselves.
Besides, neither of them could leave yet.
Haven‑62 was in ruins, and too many survivors were injured. Abandoning them now would only deepen their guilt. Protecting the wounded was the least they could do.
Kai gave a short nod of approval. "Good. Don’t disappoint me."
With that, he turned away while Atom stepped beside him.
At this point, Kai’s mind had already shifted to the next objective.
Russel had reported the location of the Gene Trader, and with another Survivor Medal in his inventory, Kai knew this was the perfect chance to strengthen himself further!
’Let’s see what you have for me...’
